Koreans have a 1st world country and when they migrate here in the US, they make here their home forever. They don't look back. They don't waste any money building homes they will never really live in. They buy homes here and drive nice cars and spend their money giving their children better education .
We waste money building so called house in Ghana and in your latter years when you want to move there and needing more and better healthcare, you realize that that moron country ain't a place for civilized dwelling and that you put your hard earned into some useless blackhole.
Don't try to use 2 eyes to view inside of a bottle.
MORON NATION . DUMSOR. LAWLESSNESS, ARMED ROBERY. FEW HOURS OF RAIN, FLOODS EVERYWHERE, MOSQUITOES CONQUERED LAND, COMMON SENSE SCARCITY. BUTE STUPIDITY APLENTY, ETC

After reading your comment, at first I decide to ignore it as the unrestrained effusions of an imbalanced mind. But then out of sheer sympathy and on the grounds that most vexed people are genuinely not aware of their irrational behaviour, I decided to point out your pathetic short-comings to you.
Mind you, I sympathize with your observations about all the unfortunate things that happen in Ghana as a result of continuous bad governance. On the other hand, the truth is that America was made what it is because Americans decided to bite their teeth, sweat blood, fight civil wars amongst themselves and die to make their country what it now is. Let us ignore for now that they ruthlessly exterminated the original Indian natives of that land to take it over and then also the inhuman use of millions of slaves in the worlds two worse cases of crimes against humanity in that pursuit.
Now you, what have you done for your country to make it what you think it should be - well, apart from whining and complaining and pointing fingers at everybody else?? What have you done for your country that you have shunned, that makes you think that it should give you or rather serve you like a king in your old age when you are of no use to society? As you yourself said, it will be better for you to stay there where you are, but I suggest that you should stay there throughout your old age. It is then that you will smell pepper. If you don’t begin to think now and straighten up, you will certainly start to think properly at your old age when it will be too late for you. As the saying goes, empty barrels make the most noise. You fit that description perfectly.
Of the hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians ‘hiding’ in the US, it is extremely rare to hear that any of their presumably better educated children have achieved anything significant in that country. Not surprisingly, there are also more children of Ghanaian immigrants in the US resorting to crime and unsocial activities than their equals here in Ghana. For your information, the majority of Ghanaians who have achieved extraordinary achievements in the US were actually brought up in and educated in Ghana and not in the US.
All human beings should have the freedom, the pleasure and the right to travel and live anywhere they wish to on this planet – of course barring demonic, disrespectful and nazi-like visa restrictions to countries like Britain, America, France etc. However, I don’t agree that unqualified and unproductive persons like you should be allowed to go and scrounge on the efforts of other countries and then justify this act of treachery by insulting and looking down on the country that made your ancestors and immediate parents before they begat you.
You have a choice not to want to come back and live in Ghana but you should not look down on the land and the people who God in His infinite wisdom created and placed you amongst.
If you do not know, Ghana is a developing country and things are not easy. If you do not want to be part of the admittedly difficult task of rebuilding our beloved but much abused country, leave us alone to do what we want to proudly do for our country and posterity.

Everyone has a choice on what he would like to become, have or do.
One has the choice, decision and one philosophy or the other,in his life.
One can choose to live and educate his children in diaspora, others would prefer doing it in Ghana,Nigeria,Ivory Coast etc.
People in GHANA HAVE ENTIRELY SPOILED GHANA,therefore, not many in diaspora, want to live there anymore.
I have been in TORONTO for 26 years, but have visited Ghana on 11 occasions for funerals, business trips.
I would like to settle in Ghana and engage in BUSINESS,because I have had broad knowledge in it,and believe, can cash in big time, there.
The guy you are refuting his decision, might have different reasons why he doesn't want to build a house in Ghana.
Maybe, his family members, friends etc, have failed him, with respect to finances. Therefore, hates to build and live in Ghana.
I was failed by them before, but this time,I have patched avenues where they used to embezzle my funds and collapsed my business in Ghana.
I HAVE DECIDED TO STAY AND DO MY OWN BUSINESS,WITHOUT ENGAGING ANY FAMILY MEMBER.
It's not good to be in diaspora when old. That is why I am preparing to come home to stay forever.
EVERYBODY HAS HIS OWN CHOICE,AS TO WHAT DECISION,HE WANTS TO EMBARK ON.
They all have pros and cons, anyway.

Businesses exist to make money or close their doors; they're at liberty, within some constraints, to use all the gimmick to attract potential customers. But there are acts that are dishonest and shows lack of commitment to the living even in the cut throat environment in Ghana. Housing shortage in Ghana has not resulted because of the purchasing power brought to bear by those in the Diaspora but because the rate of population growth coupled with migration patterns in Ghana that has made it difficult for the government and private entities in the housing construction sector to keep up with housing needs. Our government did not agree to the devil of a contract with China's government for the 3billion dollar housing loan because of the people in the Diaspora. It may be short term wise for banks and financial institutions to cater to those in the Diaspora but it wise, prudent and well formulated business plan for these finance outfits to see the potential in the working class in Ghana who while they may not have the disposable income do live in miseable structures but pay their bills. Design and plan for neighborhoods that will accommodate the middle class in Ghana and you may have a customer base that will bring in money for the foreseeable future in small but steady stream. The people in the Diaspora are capable of fending for themselves if they have the disposable income you desperately count on for the success of this phony made up project

It is a great idea that should have been discovered and considered by govt - in particular the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, GIPC, Ghana Commercial Bank etc, many decades ago if they had management that were worth the pay and the privileges that they enjoyed.
For govt to undertake this initiative now is however not possible because morons, exalted rural boys and worthless buffoons have, courtesy of incompetent successive govts, occupied the most strategic and sensitive positions in the Civil and Public Services. It has therefore now become almost impossible for any branch of govt to undertake any sensible or meaningful project in the interest of Ghanaians as a whole. Also the ‘state’ has now become so incorrigibly corrupt that any attempt to undertake a noble and viable scheme such as this would inevitably fail from malversation (dishonest or corrupt management in office).
Had the state instituted this extraordinary mechanism - independently or even in collaboration with the private sector earlier, Ghana could have earned billions of dollars annually which could possibly have transformed the economy into a better country in which many more Ghanaians would wish to live in, work in and assist to develop.
Having failed to discern and exploit this initiative, I think that govt is now obliged to seriously encourage and assist this private company as much as it can do for the interest of the millions of Ghanaians abroad and also to earn some small change off the efforts of this company.
