Naa, the second paragraph of your letter clearly gave you away that you preferred Nana Akufo-Addo to Alan. You cleverly avoided the word "but" in the paragraph though not for long as it was unavoidable. You began the third paragraph by undoing all what you said about Alan in the previous. I am not sure if that is honesty or dishonesty.
Naa, it appears you are asking your admirer to stand aside for Nana and wait for his turn in 2020. But who told you that should Nana Akufo-Addo secure the presidency in 2016, he would not go for a second term? Again, if he decides not to go for a second term in 2016, his running mate (most likely to be Dr Bawumia) not contest Alan in 2020? Has Nana Akufo-Addo given you the assurance that he would not run for a second term and instead offer his support to Alan? Could such assurance be given on paper to Alan and would that work in Ghana? Remember the gentleman agreement between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown that nearly destroyed New Labour?
I think your advice to Alan is misguided because if Alan should take your advice, then his time would be 2024, the earliest or 2028 and not 2020. He could be facing the same problem of being too old in 2024 or 2028.

@Mr KOfi Atta, I believe it would be nice to state your opinion as to why you think Alan deserve to be the flag bearer but not Nana, however don’t attack Mr Tetteh, personally I think if Nana love the country and the party as he claim, he does not need to become the president at all cost to support the progress of the party. Bear in mind that our nation is in tartars now, for any individual to ascend the throne and make a difference will need to work between 60-70 hours a week in order to keep up with the changes he/she intends to implement, just this alone will be too much for Nana, which means he will need to delegate a lot of the work which will certainly mean the beginning of the downhill of his administration, Nana is simply old, he cannot make any meaningful difference in 4years and you and I know 8y is out of the question, what Nana can do to help is to establish an ideological institute to train aspiring party leaders, NPP strategies and leadership qualities for better governance and also recruit retired NPP stalwarts to help run such an institute, his contribution in this area will be greater than trying to course the already broke nation another state funeral.., If you ask me who my pick is for 2016? Dr Bawu is my man, someone who understand world economics and how to run government effectively, if you want to know more about Dr Bawu, come to Baylor University in Texas USA where he was once a professor before he took the deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana position during K4s era..

You convince me.Nana has been my choice until now for he is incorruptible and will relentlessly fight corruption. I'm certain Nana will not spare the rod on anyone, whoever they may be who transgresses our anti-corruption laws. He has the experience and is well prepared for the presidency than anyone I can think of.
Though as age comes so does his wisdom but you almost convince me about Nana's age liability. If Nana will agree to drop out of the flagbearer race then Bawumia is a far better option than Alan Kyeremanten. Yes I like Bawu. No Alan. The NDC will pummel Alan into a pulp. He has too many liabilities. They're sitting on the sidelines armed with enough ammo for total annihilation, anxiously awaiting the day the NPP will serve a vulnerable Alan on a platter.

He resigned six years ago from the NPP. So how and where will 'his time come?' Alan Kyerematen is not wanted by anyone within the party. There's freedom of association in Ghana. He should set up his own party!

what is wrong with the the members of the NPP? Can they not see that It is only a few members of the p0arty the people who are in his pay who seing his praises. The people really do not want Akuffo Addo yet his few cronies who feed from his palm continue tosow bad propaganda about Alan. Whenis whose time. In 2007 Akuffo A said it was his time and Alan let go. When his arty was in power he woefully lost to the NDC. In the last elections he also lost. Let us stop saying that He won and was cheated. When the throne is for you Gods sees you through at all cost. Cant the NPP See? Ghanaians just dont want him and everyone is afaraid to say it. We need a man like alan yung and energetic who run the country like a business entity. For me there is nothing like my turn or your turn. Whoever wants to challenge should be allowd to do so, After the presidencvy is not cut for anyone person. Alan is the one who the NDC fear. He is clean and has no baggage. Akuffo addo and his cronies have since 2007 cheated to become flagbearer. Did they not hire Lord Commey to stop the congress of 2007 when they realised that Alan was einnign after the first 4 regions voted? Then in 2010 it was the sam. After they set yup a machinery to extricate him slowly from the party. Why did Alan find it expeedient to find a job outside? He was treated like an outcast and instead of fighting with the party machinery, the gentlman that he is he slowly took backstage. Today some members of the party make noise and sow bad propaganda that he did not help in the lections. You see if Nana do not stop all the evil propaganda about alan or enyone who wants stand against, they will suffer the consequences. God is watching them and has done so since they started playing little gods to take over the party. Dont the chairman etc see that Nana is ruining the party? All those in the Npp who by thier own power want to destroy the ambitions of anyone who wants to stand must pray to God for forgiveness and do the honorable thing of allowing a fair playing ground for all contestants. Is the presidency nanas perogative? We complain about the rawlings' but is that not the same thing our own party man is doing. If Nana things that Ataa Mills went 3 times and won that is why he wont give up. let him try and see. This time I pray that Alan and his team will not sit down and be cheated again. I pray that the scales will fall off the delegates eyes and they vote wisely for the 1. God fearing Alan
2. The courageous Alan (his style is refreshing. Not Nanas Patapaa style)
3. Youthful Alan
4.Hardworking Alan
5.Knowlegeable Alan
6. Business like and Entrepreneurial
Alan
7.Alan a man of great integrity, high moral standing
8 An affable man, easily accessible,
humane and comapssionate, firm and fair. A word to the wise is enough!!!!

Already in the NPP’s way of thinking, Nana will win the 2016 election at all cost, if given the nod to become the party’s flag bearer. In the process, the NPP has conveniently forgotten about the other side; not even the fact that as incumbent, the NDC will vigorously defend its incumbency and hold tight to the presidency. What the NPP needs to do at this point, is to start to demonstrate with convincing facts, skills and strategies to, impress upon the Ghanaian populace of how best they can turnaround Ghana’s moribund economy to bring economic relief to the country, if voted to power.
The Nana, Alan argument has been overplayed and is currently strident, as well as robing the party of a great opportunity which inevitably will come to hunt the NPP again, come 2016. Wake-up!

It is such unconditional commitment to Nana and the ardent belief that he alone deserves to be the President of Ghana, now, that both rile his opponents, within and outside NPP, and dump his supporters into abysmal disappointment, upon his failure, to fly off to the extremity of intolerance and vicious vitriolic antagonism against his Opponents.
The Presidency is not anyone's inheritance to claim. It is a National political Office that can only be occupied via a democratic contest.
If we keep entertaining the idea that no one should contest a particular individual for that Office, we would end up encouraging tyranny by proxy.
Nana has no magic wand to turn the Economy around with a flick of a finger. He has a lot of baggage he has not cared to abandon to persuade many voters to look in his direction for occupying the Presidency.
Other potential candidates who even know him better than the majority of the electorate have reasons, other than selfish ambition, to compete with him. Why in the World should anyone coerce the others to back off from contesting against him? That charade of a psychology on Allan must be seen just as that.
We have long endured numerous insults by, from, and also against Nana's supporters. Not once have we heard Nana show any statesmanship to admonish his supporters to refrain from that tactic of intimidation , or appeal to his opponents to uphold civility for peaceful contests.
He seems to be enjoying the boisterous confrontation around him. That does not offer his doubters any hope of finding in him a Presidency that caters for all Ghanaians.
Many have long appealed to him to apologize to the larger Citizenry for his infamous tribalistic utterance, "Yen Akanfo de..." His arrogance of infallibility prevents him from doing so. Many victims of that offending language remain silently resolute in their opposition to him, fearing the worst practical manifestation of that utterance, should Nana ever wins the Presidency. To those folks, Allan or some other candidate could be preferable to Nana, and they would like to have names of those competitors to Nana show up on the ballot.
It is therefore imperative that any qualified, willing, and capable person in the NPP intending to contest for the Party's Flagbearership be allowed to do so. That same methodology must prevail in the other competing Parties, as well. Ghana must have the opportunity to choose among a field of qualified candidates to lead the Nation.
No one has earned the exclusive right to be unopposed. Run Allan run!!!
Long Live Ghana!!!

When Joseph told his brothers about the dream he had, they whispered among themselves."listen to the dreamer he is saying we are going to bow to him in future. Let's go and sell him".Listen to Joseph's brothers again today:"Look at the short man he has started behaving like a president,he is not a president, yet,he led a Commonwealth delegation to South Africa.Did you notice the level of his popularity at the Tamale congress? Let's intensify our diabolic plans to cause him another defeat in 2016.It will continue until they will bow down to him after 2016.Mark it on the wall. The new executive are no fools they would like to be referred to in future as the team that brought the NPP back to power.
