The above rationalizations of patently stupid religious concepts once again reveal the generally constricted scope of religious thinking.
For example, the author foolishly approves of the cutting of hands for theft with the sole purpose of reducing the crime of theft, conveniently forgetting the panoply of social and economic consequences appertaining to a country where all thieves are also amputees...
Likewise, he fails to note that human freedom should be viewed from the standpoint of the individual to whom that freedom belongs. A woman's body belongs to a woman, and what she wears cannot be prescribed to assuage the libido of men. Let a woman decide whatever she wants to wear, and punish those who cannot control their orgiastic appetite. That is civilization as opposed to savagery....
My problem with Paa Nii's articles is that they fail to state the obvious: that all institutionalized religions put an iron gate on reason and logic, and make all persons imbeciles!

You have just forgotten of the economic and social cost of keeping thieves in a prison.Do you know how much it takes to keep convicted thieves in prison by the state, when in reality they could have been economically viable for the state by avoiding theft or robbery? Indeed, you were quick to mention human freedom but failed to admit that it has an end, otherwise a thief or an armed robber should not be imprisoned at all when found guilty as per your analyses.Does freedom mean going after what does not belong to you?In terms of what women can choose to wear or not to wear, you have just set double standards because, you can punish 'those who cannot control their orgiastic appetite' but cannot cut the hands of those who commit thievery and robbery? What is civilization and who qualifies to set standards for civilization? Is it the human being or the one who created the human being.Take the example of a car maker and the user of the car.Who is more qualified to come out with a manual for a car?Is it the user or the maker?God made the human being and He is the best to set the standards for civilization but not what you think as the human standards for civilization OK?

If we have to live by god's rules, then what rules from what god are we going to use to govern ourselves with? The god of al-queda of the arab world, the lord resistance of Uganda, the god of budha, jews, hindus, mormons or the Nubian god? Who will be the ordained one with the authority to enforce the rules? Religion is personal and must remain as such. No one should be allowed to be a judge for any god. The teachings of the bible, Koran, torah and all the so called holy books must not be forced on anybody. Each and every one of us is responsible for his or her own actions before god on the judgment day, any one who preaches otherwise is a hypocrite and a confused soul!!!!

An atheist, muslim, Christian, jew and other believers can co exist in a peaceful atmosphere if religious laws are left inside the mosque, church, shrine or the synagogue and obey the traditional, civil and customary laws set forth by the society in a secular manner. Enforcing the teachings of Koran, the bible or any other so called holy book on a people in a society by self ordained holy men of god is contrary to human decency and freedom to reason. A moslem can leave his religion and join any religion of his or her choice without being killed simply because an illiterate mullah has issued a fatwa for him or her to be killed. No society should allow such backwardness and madness from any so called holy book to triumph common sense and absolute freedom to reason!!!!

Are you talking about the god that discourages polygamy? The one that allows reasonable alcohol consumption or the one that teaches us to forgive our enemies and leave the judgment for him? Are we talking about the god the blesses marriages between 80 year olds and poor 8 year old girls from the slums of India and Egypt as fourth and fifth wives? Or are we talking about the one that okays honour killings, suicide bombing and kidnaping of young girls or the one that rewards murderers with virgin girls in paradise? The interpretation of god's law can be dangerous and often backward if it is left in the hands of the self ordained mortals to enforce on others!!!!!

What the Koran or the Bible says are specific commands to individual believers. In all the holy books, it has been clearly stated that no one has the right to judge. Therefore it is very backward and ironic to see many moslem countries led by backward mullahs who arrogate to themselves the power to judge others based on sharia. Let each person be responsible for his or her salvation. Blasphemy laws and all the laws in all the holy books must not be used as tools for backward men to oppress anybody. Leave the judgment day to God, Allah or whatever damn name you prefer to use. It is very simple indeed. To hell with all the self righteous so called prophets and mullahs!!!!

Your comment that no one should judge carries no wait. Then, tell the rest of the world to throw away the courts and re-deploy judges if indeed we have to go by what you just proposed?

It does not matter how many published articles or teaching tablets there might be from the Prophet Mohammed. What we have is history that bare out both Christians and Muslims by what they say and do. There are evils done and continue to be done in the name of Christianity around the world and there is evil done in the name of the Muslim faith. For example it is hard to understand how Muslims can label Christian nations as evil, perverse etc and yet when Muslim men and women migrate to those Christian nation, Muslim men find no hindrances from the Koran that prevents them from assimilation, partaking in the perverse culture even fornication with women of those Christian nations while they “protect” the Muslim women by denying them assimilation right and the freedoms the men enjoy. There can be no teacher of religion that can be this hypocritical and expect its male membership to know anything about honor or principles. To the extent that humans have the ability to draw moral equivalencies or distinctions between Muslims and Christianity or undertake relative comparative analysis between evil deeds done on both sides, there is no denying that Muslims cannot blame anyone for what is the truth about a religion that for the past 40 or so can justify the use of any means to kill and wound anyone they see as deserving to live and or because of being non Muslims. What is it about Prophet Mohammed and his teachings that created so much schism in the understanding and or interpretation of the Koran as to see honor in the horrific death of innocent people even as they look forwards to their seventy virgins in heaven? What is it that allows parents to kill sons and or daughters for marrying people of other faiths? What is it that allows anyone to see any sense of humanity in the subjugation of women so men can roam free and take any woman they want even against their will because man is the law?
As I stated earlier, Christians have had their share of evil done in the name of Christ but no Muslim can use any teachings or lessons learned or deduced from Prophet Mohammed teachings to justify events that have been going on in even Muslim nations and lately in North eastern Nigeria. It is instinctively natural to defend the Muslim faith but it is imperative for people of goodwill in the Muslim faith to admit the unwarranted and barbaric destruction done minds body and souls in the name of a supposed peaceful religion day after day.

Yes we are all aware *all* the major religions were a slight improvement on the historical times they were invented. However this is the 21st century folks! Let's wake up and get real!
This pagan, superstitious, Iron Age thinking and morality belongs in the Iron Age.
