It is mainly the indiscipline, corruption, illiteracy level and the bad leadership in the country that is contributing to our woes has nothing to do with Democracy. Of course, our government and even the political parties are run like chieftaincy so the president thinks he needs all kinds of subjects present even though he is a national leader rather than a chief of a tribe. This also impacts how decisions are made and how they communicate. There is no way that Obama would go to a red/Republican state and use the language used by Mahama recently at Kumasi because he always speaks to a nation even when he is at party events.

Only yesterday, Bokor was telling people that they were limited and lazy - unlike he who had spent decades moving Ghana forward even though he was not seen in the headlines and that he could now move on to "other departments of life" and contend himself with dispensing advice from his US home through his numerous opinion pieces on ghanaweb in which he makes pronouncements worthy of the pope.
I thought it was very presumptuous on his part and reminded him that he was not the only one who helped to move Ghana forward "for decades" and cautioned him to exercise a little humility in his pronouncements - that humility which is a cardinal Ewe virtue which others mistakenly term "lack of self-confidence" because they don't know the difference.
There are many ways of criticising and putting forward your advice. Bokor knows only one rude way!
