While Ghanaians lived in squalor, shanty towns and slums he gave 10 million each to Sekou Toure of Guinea and the Mali President so that they would make him President of Africa for life. Nkrumah controlled the judiciary and poisoned the minds of the young ones with the satanic Young Pioneers.
All tyrants like Hitler, Josef Stalin, Iddi Amin Kwame Nkrumah, Gadaffi and Pol Pot suffered so many assassination attempts and all ended up in total disgrace and humiliation

You see, you don´t have any thing concreat to write about to damage him, I tell you the man called Osagyefo Dr. kwame Nkrumah is dead, but his spirit and his legacy still lives on. His statue has been put in front of African Union Building in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, you should ask yourself why did the all African leaders chose Nkrumah but not your terrorist criminal ancestors statue. This shows that the man really inspired the continent of Africa. Your ancestors were nation wreckers and criminals, their terrorist and criminals activities in Ghana has brought us to this far, suffering. Cliff, you should use your Brain very well to think and stop fooling yourself with these useless accusations on Nkrumah. Because he made what you are today.

Hello DAN,
Islam is of the three major Western Religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam).
All the terrorist groups in Africa (with the exception of Joseph Kony's Lord Resistance Army") take inspiration from Al-Qaeda (and possible the Taliba).
Yet both the Taliban and Al-Qaeda were essentially created by the West (with a few non-Western countries including Saudi Arabia).
Wahhabism has always been part of the problem. Again, the West created Al-Qaeda and the Taliban to get rid of the Soviets just so cummunism will not gain foothold in Afghanistan.
Ironically, communism is principally a Western idea, not non-Western. Boko Harama, Ansaru, Al-Shabab may not possible have been in existence if the West had not created Islam, communism, the Taliban, and Al-Qaeda. Just maybe.
Please go back and do some serious reading about South Sudan and come back here again. If you have closely followed world history in the past 500 years, you will not be saying what you have said here. Go back and spend some quality time studying world history.
You think it's mostly Muslims/Islam which is the problems. You have not taken a look at the evils of capitalism and tendency on the West to impose itself on the world.
Find times to read all the works of Dr. Noam Chomsky and try to watch "Democracy Now" every day if you have the time. You will get to know that Isam/Muslims is only part of the problem. I hope I hve said enough.
That is not without saying that Africans should not responsibity for some of the evil things going on in the continent.
Thanks.

The American Ambassador to Ghana at that time Mahoney said the same thing. Debating this issue is fruitless.
Lyndon B. Johnson, the then US President, gave the order as part of the cold war. The operation was christened ¨operation cold chop¨.
There is a new chapter in Ghana America relations. However that does not mean that our relationship with the Soviet Union (Workers Union) and China has been brought to an end.

What I can add to this piece is that a cross section of Ghanaians who are in doubt as to whether Nkrumah deserved to be overthrown should bear one thing in mind that there is this slogan that “Americans have permanent interest, but not permanent friends.” So the local involvement did not yield much results for them, ie the UP tradition.
Busia may not have completed his term due to Kutu Acheampong’s entry. The question now is, why is the UP/NPP silent on this issue? Are we being made to understand that Acheampong never stepped on any toes when he kicked out Busia? There was massive jubilation. The 2012 supreme court election verdict has given Ghanaians a saying that “you and I were not there.” But as for this, I was there! I recall the Ga slogan “Busia naabu kpontiii tomo loly (lorry) tie (tyre).” To wit, Busia’s thick lips are like that of a lorry’s tyre! He surely did have thick beautiful lips anyway. If Acheampong had used terrorist tactics to remove Busia, ie throwing of bombs and other explosives, I don’t know what the UP/NPP would be writing today. Would they write at all, since their focus is on Nkrumah, who jailed JB Danquah.
The UP/NPP should now that tyrants, despots, and dictators do not jail their opponents who are reported to have resorted to violence, but would rather execute them. If Danquah has been tied to the stakes and shot, only God knows the kind of books would line our bookstores today.
There’s a problem with our so called educated elite. None of them is interested in becoming authors. In zooming down to Ghana, most of our MPs were once teachers. They think that their education is a passport to political elevation. That was the problem Nkrumah had with his opponents. In referring to The Encyclopaedia Africana vol 2, it is stated that Danquah, Busia & co saw political office as their birthright, and saw this Nzema nonentity was a major standing block. People like these would never have given Bill Gates a chance if he were Ghanaian.
If the NPP will not restrain their Alsatians, Terriers, Bulldogs, etc on Nkrumah, then those of us observing the political game from the sidelines will not raise a single voice in their favor. The NPP should let sleeping dogs lie and concentrate on winning elections.
If you are to ask me what my tradition is as a Ghanaian, well, I will say if I want to marry a woman I have spotted, I will inform my parents through some funny body language, and they will get the “lie” that I’m in love. So what is the tradition of the NPP? Somebody should please help!!

The issue should not continue to be about who instigated or gave aid in the overthrow of Nkrumah but what we have done for ourselves since. Remember that the very USA, UK and France Ghanaians love to point fingers at are the very nations who have provided food and shelter when we, Ghanaians through are infantile governments, could not feed or clothe ourselves. It is a natural human character trait to hate people who go against us or what we stand for but it is also natural for people with common sense who fall to get back up; this is where we have failed as Ghanaians.
How is the NPP stance of this era different from their UP/UGCC against Nkrumah of yesteryear? There is no difference; the very tribal clans who hated any leadership from any other tribe in Ghana at the time of Nkrumah continue with their activities today. Ashanti’s and Kyebi’s were content as flea on a dog when Kufour was in power and always in a funky mood when anyone from any other tribe happens to be in leadership role in Ghana. We cannot continue blaming the West for our stealing and hiding our loot in Western banks and financial institution; we do so because even our educated elite class do show lack of understanding of the theories behind the subjects they claim to have mastered. Why else would people who do not hesitate signing their names along with their credentials spew hate and contempt and incite chaos and anarchy in Ghana while they enjoy the comforts and living provided by civilized Western nations? These Ghanaians and ex-Ghanaians in the Diaspora show us their crablike-existence each day through their writings wanting Ghana to stay underdeveloped so they can come for visits as show us how others are living.

Hello Mensah,
What I have been discussing on Ghanaweb is as important as SADA, GYEEDA, GHANA@50, etc. The West and Asia, unlike Africans, take history seriousy.
Therefore, get used to my articles or stop reading them if you are not comfortable with the facts. Anyway, more of these articles are coming your way. Read on!
Have you forgotten that the wealth of Africa practically built these countries you mention here giving "aid" to Ghana, etc.
Have you also forgotten that Africa's wealth continues to build these same countries! It has never occured to you that Africa has been feeding the West in the past 500 years.
Haiti, the richest colony of the West during the colonial period, also contributed practically to building France. Have you found out why America, Britain, France, and Spain fought over Haiti all the time in history? Because they all wanted the wealth which the Africans there built! And today people like you are saying France is feeding Africans!
Please go back and read my essay "What Amiri Baraka Said About Kwame Nkrumah (VIII)" to see what French Presidents and economists have said how France will fare in the 20th-21st century with Africa (Francophone countries). Africa's money is the backbone of the French economy. It appears you don't know what you are talking about. Here is the link to the essay:
Do you have any idea how the West (America, Britain, etc) sabotaged the Chinese in colonial days though today China supports the American economy?
Go read Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, Justice Sarpong, or Adofo Rockson. I am interesed in dealing with seriou ssues.
And go tell Americans notto dwell on the mistakes they made creating Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, etc. American scholars and policy makers regularly make history part of their contemporary policyections.
Most of the problems we face today in Africa has a lot to do with our hitory with the Western world. Again, that is not to say we can make things better or take responsibility for them. However, unlike Asians, Africans have not learned anything about the Machiavellian nature of the West. You think the West feeds us but you have no idea we have been feeding them for 500 years. Go read my essays to see what France will become without the wealth of Africa. Francophone African money is what is largely driving the French economy. You take the crumbs they give some Africans o be generosity.
Even today as I write, British scholars are saying what Britain owes Africa is incalculable. Enought. More of such articles are coming. Stop reading them if you are not comfortable with them.
Thanks.

WHY ARE THE SO CALLED NOISY GHANAIANS STILL IN SELF IMPOSED EXILE IN THE NORTH,THE VERY PEOPLE WHO OCCUPIED AND DOMINATED US FOR MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED(200)YEARS AND TO ENJOY THE FRUITS OF THEIR LABOUR.
THIS IS BECAUSE,WE HAVE FAILED TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO EXPLORE,DISCOVER AND TO BUILD OUR NATIONS ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY; AS A DRIVE TO INNOVATION TO TURN THE WHEELS OF INDUSTRIALIZATION,PROCESS OUR NATURAL RESOURCES INTO FINISHED PRODUCTS FOR VITAL SERVICES IN GHANA AN AFRICA AS A WHOLE.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT, THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CPP UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF KAWME NKRUMAH ENVISAGED FOR THE COUNTRY.
WHY HAVE WE FAILED TO REVIVE THE MANY INDUSTRIES THAT WERE BUILT IN THE COUNTRY IN EARLY SIXTIES.
JUST IMAGINE, THE GHANA RAILWAY,ONCE THE BACKBONE OF GHANA'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPOMENT AND THE SOLE EMPLOYER IN WESTERN REGION HAS BEN ALLOWED TO DECAY IN THE COUNTRY.

You hardly see him/her commenting negatively on articles written by ethnocentric Ghanaweb columnists.
And we all know who these ethnocentric columnists are. He/she does not sound like someone who is conversant with world history!
I hope he/she comes back to answer your question. In fact, one of my Ghanaweb friends (Teckonline.org) asked him to explain how Ghana could adopt the "South Korean Model" and he/she refused to come back, let alone answer the question.
It was clear from ABEEKU MENSAH's he knew practically nothing about (ancient) Asian comparative history or contemporary and therefore threw hollow words about. These are the kinds of people who are ruling and destroying Africa. They delight in spreading hollow ideas without contexts.
Please ignore him/her. As you can see he/she did not make an iota of sense in the comments he/she made here. His/her kind is what you have in Ghana's parliament. Shallowness!
