President Mills cutting the sod
President John Evans Atta Mills has cut the sod for work to commence on a Chinese government assisted 100 bed capacity general hospital.
The project based in Teshie in the Greater Accra region,is part of redeeming his pledge to improve the nation’s health delivery.
The hospital is being constructed at a cost of US$13 million with Chinese component of US$7.5 grant.

China Geo Engineering Corporation is the contractor for the project which is scheduled to be completed in 16 months.
The sod-cutting ceremony marked the first of planned health projects under the Mills Administration.
The project is in furtherance of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Co-operation, under which the Government of Ghana made a request to the People’s Republic of China for the construction of 100-bed General Hospital with a malaria research centre.
The facility would serve the Teshie-Nungua communities, who for some time now have been going to either the La or the Tema General Hospitals, the two nearest public health facilities, which are kilometres away.
Facilities included in the design are full medical equipment, out patient unit, radiology unit with CT and x-ray, two operating theatres incorporating ultra-sound, enterospy, gastrocopy and electrodiogram equipment.

Corruption cannot be fully eradicated in any society, but it must be discouraged by throwing in prison those found guilty by a competent court of law. I am eagerly awaiting the government's response to your piece. As the saying goes, there is no smoke without fire, so if a paper has published this news item, then there has got to be an element of truth to it.
If the information is patently false, then the government owes it to the people to offer a pointed denial -- and a redeeming proof -- that it has not set aside such a large sum of money to renovate an old hospital.
Ghana has not improved one bit since John Kufuor left office, so I ask: who is looking out for the masses? Does anyone even care about the unemployed, the sick, the interrupted power supply that has gripped the country -- again? Year after year, the government engages in power rationing. Don't we have any experts in the Mahama administration who can help solve this perennial power supply problem? Ghana paa nie?

Before the NPP left office, they made sure that funds had been sourced for the gas plant and partly for the Bui Dam. When the NDC assumed power, they decided to go back and review EVERY contract that had been signed by the NPP government. On the surface of it, it seemed like they wanted to ensure accountability.
Now everything points to the fact that they did so to add their own percentages, as the issue Justice has written about and others, clearly show.
In eality, the joke is on the rest of us Ghanaians who tend to forget so easily and so soon!

That means, we are talking something like classroom building or Hall, where 20- 30 beds would be crammed in one hall/ward. So we are actually talking about less than 10 halls. Think about that. For the beds, there are many medical personals that keep on sending good used hospital beds here to Korle Bu, 37, KATH and others that are thrown away all the time. But let's give them a brand new sophisticated hospital beds. Then what else....let's even add MRI, CT Scan and X'rays and portable X'rays.-- how much would that cost.
Wofa, it is the same "CREATE, LOOT & SHARE" policy from Mahama. But have you noticed something? Those who supported Mills/Mahama and lied about Akufo Addo here have stopped coming here to deal with the situation. They will come back here again with their tribal postings if Mahama is voted out.

The project based in Teshie in the Greater Accra region,is part of redeeming his pledge to improve the nation’s health delivery.
The hospital is being constructed at a cost of US$13 million with Chinese component of US$7.5 grant.

The sod-cutting ceremony marked the first of planned health projects under the Mills Administration.
The project is in furtherance of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Co-operation, under which the Government of Ghana made a request to the People’s Republic of China for the construction of 100-bed General Hospital with a malaria research centre.
The facility would serve the Teshie-Nungua communities, who for some time now have been going to either the La or the Tema General Hospitals, the two nearest public health facilities, which are kilometres away.
Facilities included in the design are full medical equipment, out patient unit, radiology unit with CT and x-ray, two operating theatres incorporating ultra-sound, enterospy, gastrocopy and electrodiogram equipment.

Let me school you the basic difference between BID and a TENDER. A bid is defined as a deal to obtain something in a competition, on the other hand, a tender is an offer to deliver or provide specified services or goods at a said rate.
Why are you talking about a bid when the Ridge project did not go through any bidding process? In bidding, a project is made available publicly for companies to offer a price they can execute such projects and usually the company that offers the least or less costly bid is given the project, that is not what happened in the Ridge hospital renovation project. The Ridge project was rather a tender where a company offered to deliver that services for the $306 million price and it went through Parliamentary process where the Ndc used its majority to approve this massive corruption and instead of just shutting up and allow those who are capable of sorting this out, you come up here with your usual tribalistic nonsense.
Even 306 million or 250 million hospital renovation in San Francisco or around the silicon valley enclave will not even meet the intergrity smell test. President Mills in 2012, just two years ago cut a sod to build a General hospital in Accra for $13 million.
