We should not try to stop anyone who might have previously said or done a few unpleasant and unhelpful things from being constructive.
At this point, the Nation needs all the help it can get. If it implodes, we would all go down with it. If it flourishes, we would all share in the ride at the crest.

For example, what did Dr Wereko Brobbey do for VRA and Ghana@50 when he had they opportunity...? yet people like him are always on air critisising everyday without offering any concrete feasiblr solutions.
Give us a break...they are all crass oportuninists.

I do not know much about Mr. Cudjoe and others in the group. Therefore, I'd not pass judgment on anyone's eligibility. However, we need to allow open discussion of the merits of these folks without resorting to flagrant unwarranted insults to block others from contributing, no matter their previous mode of interaction. Many of us have been undesrvedly burnt by the Professor's style of interaction with the Public, in one instance or another. But so have many responded to him appropriately and in a timely manner. Nevertheless, it is unhealthy to carry the grudge along into everything else we may have to meet him on for discussion. Let us control our emotions to facilitate sober reflection and harnessing of our deeper brain resources.
It is only when we all freely but firmly and courteously express our opinions that others can take us seriously, and the discussion can progress to yield the best results.
One insult could open a floodgate of retributive personal attacks that would mar the effort at reaching a healthy consensus on such a crucial topic.
After all, in this particular case, the Professor did not insult anyone to be paid back in kind. If folks do not like his recommended candidate for that membership, they only have to tell us so and why. We would all be learning more about the suggested names to help us know who deserves our support.

The response to your intervention by commentators is the mischief they saw in your suggestion that Ahhofe's suggestion was right.Ahoofe was not asking for the best brains to be brought to help the nations economy instead he suggested an NPP inclined think thank led by Cudjoe.
Cudjoe is a well known npp supporter whose timing on national debates have always been skewed to help the npp.Recently for no reason he resigned from a government appointed board just to embarrass the government. Before the last elections he was leading a campaign that electing the ndc we bring doom to the country. His comments on government policies have also been very partisan.
It is therefore not surprising that Ahoofe should named some one who had been a thorn in the ndc government and an ideological mate of Ahoofe to help sabotage government policies to help the npp.But what about Berko who is buying into Ahoofe's mischief. That is the problem with your comment.Asking the ndc to go for some noe who is ideologically opposed to the ndc and wishing them ill in all his comments.
In this write up, though Ahoofe did not overtly insult any one,to suggest that the ndc should go and bring in an npp think thank to address its economic policies is more than an insult to the many financial experts and economist of the ndc.

Thanks. Well, I hope the President's ear is directed to this forum. Most of us want the best Ghana and wish the President succeeds with his agenda. The Opposition should wish the same and only dispute the modalities to reach that success. Insults do not show better options.

If John Mahama is weary of life or would like to put his presidency on the line then he can take his cue from psycho-Ahootan. That would certainly be Mahama’s death sentence. Otherwise Mahama is best advised to heed to the proverbial Akan adage: Se wo nim owo a shew nda literally meaning take a cue from sleep to know what death feels like.
If Ahooyaa Okoamboni who is divorced from the real world emerges from his cocoon ghetto and tells you the world stand on pillars when even a 3 year old knows better; in fact, you will have to be suicidal, sick of life or world weary to buy-in his words.

I do not expect the President to knowingly risk relying on someone who adamantly seeks his failure. But even if we could see through the Professor's recommendation as a fast attempt to ensnare the President to fail, even if we know the recommendation was some scheme to sabotage the President's efforts, the spate of insults might overshadow the poignancy of that revelation to establish the reason why the recommendation ought to be ignored. Remember, cynicism has its due in shaping a consensus, even though I did not intend my initial comment to be one.

He has demonstrated over the last couple of years that he is intrinsically tethered to the NPP by his withering criticism of the NDC administration....as head of a western sponsored think tank, Cudjoe has shown nothing more than parroting the views of his sponsors....if Mahama were to appoint him to head a team, that will be the ultimate betrayal... of course, there are many others with remarkably stellar qualifications who deserve mention and attention....Cudjoe is too partisan to effectively carry out orders from the NDC government....

Actually, being a sympathiser of the NPP is not the point. Cudjoe has neither the experience nor the intellectual resources to head any government technical team, let alone something as technical as economic restructuring. Indeed, none of the things attributed to Cudjoe in this article originates from him. He wasn't the one to suggest reducing the size of the public sector. Nor, was he the one to reveal the ghost names as a problem in the public sector. All he has been doing has been making noise about problems and solutions already in the public domain. This noise-making may have its role in putting pressure on the government to address persistent problems. But it is one thing to make noise and quite another to actually have the technical wherewithal to solve problems. I'm sorry, Franklin isn't even nearly as qualified!
