    Why the insult? What have they done to you to deserve such a "below the belt blow"? Northerners are Ghanaians aren't they and that old stigma should be a thing of the past.

    It seems all the chiefs have this "wura" at the end of their name. Is there any explanation to that? Wura is an "Akan" word.

    'Wura' literally means 'owner'. This is the title taken by Gonja chiefs. I am Ewe but grew up in Damongo

    Benji, thanks. Indeed some places in the overseas area of northern Ghana there is oil. The technology of the future would making drilling easy.
    The Volta around Daboya can produce 45MW of electricity.

    It is not Daboya but the whole of Gonja land is forgotten land. Half of Gonja land is cut off from the rest of Ghana. Today the poorest roads in Ghana are in Gonja land. Have you tried to visiting Salaga and its environs? It ...
