The extraction of oil and event the processing is very capital intensive, meaning it does not need mass labor to get it done. To make matters worse, the oil is taken from Ghana to somewhere else to be refined, hence creating jobs in another country. What a shame.

the truth of the matter is that the oil industry is a highly technical and specialised field. i do not know of any institition in ghana that runs a comprehensive and practical oil related course in Ghana.if there are please let me know. even those abroad need to have gone through training and internships before they are recognized as such. so when i here of these short modular course i wonder where they will lead a person to. the oil industry will definitely employ you if you meet the right qualifications irrespective of your nationality and i therefore think that Ghanaians will have our opportunity if we go to school and learn.
