When all the 'bruhaha' was going on about the redenomination of the cedi during the later days of the Kufour regime,I told some freinds with whom I was having lunch in Gambaga ,that there was no way Ghana could maintain the cedi/dollar parity.
It was a political gimick and a means of enriching some very few Ghanaians in the short term.
Yes, with the redenomination, Ghanaians, who had billions of the old cedi suddenly became dollar millionaires. Who were these Ghanaians? Your guess is as good as mine.
Suddenly,we think the present government is the source of the problem.Oh how ignorant we have been!!!!!!
NOT UNTIL GHANA IS MANUFACTURING AND EXPORTING GOODS THAT EARN US LARGE SUMS OF MONEY YEAR IN YEAR OUT, WE AS A PEOPLE PROMOTE AND DEFEND OUR CURRENCY, THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN SUSTAIN A DOLLAR/CEDI PARITY THE WAY WE HAVE BEEN DECEIVED.
Long live Ghana.
Long live the cedi.
May the lies of those who mislead us and insult our intelligence be exposed!!!!!!!!!!!
