Folks, enough is enough. Let us put a stop to this sickening obsession with the BBC. Allow the Dumor family to mourn in peace. KOMLA WAS A GIFTED JOURNALIST WHO WORKED TIRELESSLY FOR THE BBC A UK GOVERNMENT FUNDED ENTITY WHICH PROMOTES THE INTEREST OF THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT. He was in the employ of a foreign government, working for the British. In the UK Dumors untimely demise was mentioned only in passing by various news outlets. There were no commentary from 10 Downing Street. There was no great fun fare.. Let us respect ourselves for once fellow Ghanaians. The talented Komla did not contribute greatly to Ghana's well-being no matter what the hero worshipers say. Also Komla endured a daily battle against a lot of racism at the BBC in London , an organization where institutionalized racism is described as legendary by insiders.

Trucker, you've made your point which I supported. Isn't it enough for you too? If people want to continue writing the same things, ghanaweb can't refuse to post them and Komla died less than a week ago.

Anyway, isn't the word "fanfare", and not "fun fare"?

To Komla Dumor A Tribute
By Kwesi Atta Sakyi 20th January 2014
When the story is told
Behold, of young Africans bold
Komla Dumor’s own will hold
Among veterans and the old
Among radio and TV geniuses
Komla was the quintessential genial giant
A genre genie export from Joy FM Ghana local
To BBC Radio and TV global
Komla was an expose of face of Africa
Behold, epitome of the good things African
Behold, the vibrant vibes of booming voice
From Kigali to Mali and Kinshasa
From Lagos to Luanda , Nairobi and Cape Town,
Komla was everywhere in a flurry of hurry
To spread the word in town in Africa
‘BBC Africa Radio and TV is in town, come tell your story to the world’
He covered the globe from pole to pole
In gargantuan Superman strides
Komla reported live with power, panache and passion
His suave suits latest in fashion
Komla knew neither failure nor fatigue
He was on top of his league
Komla demonstrated utmost religiosity in journalistic devotion
He was consumed by journalist fervour,
In his giant persona presence,
Every journalistic challenge, a Lilliputian

What a load of nonsense, as a learned person, you should know the best way to write English is using simple words that people would understand without referring to the dictionary. That is what is termed the everyday English.
What is the point in lading your post full of big words? It really does not make you clever! It makes you pretentious.
May Komla RIP, he will dearly be missed!

Keep the good work up Dr. Silverson. For those of us who understand you, this is beautiful writing.
Sad losing KD. May his soul rest in peace.

Mercy is right. He should have written the tribute in simple English for people to read and appreciate.
