I'm yet to find out, the level of education of this self proclaimed pan African twerp who doesn't even know how to put words together to make it come out something good. Beside the poor articulation, poor cohesion and the profound effusions of downright nonsense, this errant fool has demonstrated shallowness by forcing unsuspecting readers to consume what would go down the record books as the worse and most disgusting article of the year 2014, with such an incoherent and factually empty analysis.
"...Guys in organizations why do we have a vice and what is succession planning?" So if is it the expectation of Trokosi Kojo that Amissah Arthur would be uncontested as the future flag bearer should Mahama survive a second successful term(TOFIAKWA, GOD FORBID, ALLAH EKYIAYE),then it begs the question as to whether this twerp really understand what democracy is all about. Is this seemingly adult, with an idem quad of a toddler, not aware that the choice of a running is the sole prerogative of a flag bearer and not represent the collective idea of a decision making body of a party? OMG,why do we suffer to share the same space with some these Trokosi intellectual midgets?

lacks the substance that makes it a comparative analysis. Throughout this anti-NPP article you advanced no single statistic or fact but based it entirely on your skewed opinion.
In a democracy an Opposition is one of the checking institutions and NPP cannot be faulted for how they are pursuing that function. The NDC did the same when they were in opposition and so they should. It is not obligatory that the Opposition comes out with alternative solutions, outside election campaigns. Their duty is to analyse and criticise government policies. In the case of this NDC government, there are even none to analyse or criticise.
In terms of thievery, the evidence available shows that NDC ministers were jailed by courts in this country for corruption. No NPP minister has to date been jailed for any such crime against the state. It is also a fact that during Rawlings’ NDC 1 and 2 governments, no single Auditor General’s report was sent to Parliament. No account has ever been rendered to the state for all the state assets divested to party cronies and Mrs Rawlings. I am therefore not surprised that your article lacks depth and substance.
I am itching to say this last one. When was the last time any NDC President, Minister or supporter talk policy? The last time I checked only the NPP has been making high-billed policy speeches. I can think of Dr Bawumiah on the economy and Nana Akufo Addo on industrialisation and education. The NDC response has always been insults, refusing to join the debate.
As for educational outcomes under the NPP and NDC governments, the evidence available speaks for itself.
You are brave to tackle this subject and I commend you for that, but you have failed to sway the likes of me. I know where to find the facts and they are not supportive of your stance.

The capacity or ability to think, reflect on the past, to learn from others or from past mistakes and to engage in a logical thought process is not borne out of democracy but innate to humans endowed from our maker. The choice of system of governance selected by a people or nation can only improve if the people in a given society/community are capable of using their respective or collective mental faculties to improve their existence.
We fail in Ghana and or Africa not because we are inferior to other races but because we are true and tested humans who aspire to lord over others without sweat or hard work. And so it is for Ghana and or Africa that just as the Christian God was willing to spare the people of Sodom and Gomorrah if a handful of saved souls could be found in their midst so it is that in Ghana or in Africa one cannot find an honest rich person whose wealth came by way of sound living or business practices. Is there anyone in Ghana worth more than $1milion who did not steal, cheat or was not helped by cronies and connection to political power?
The system of governance of late, be it democratic, socialism or communism have been shown not to matter if under the care of competent leaderships. China, a communist nation, has now become a Mecca for all global businesses and preferred destination for all western democratic governments seeking markets. Could this be communist China? We have our NPP leaders and flunkies troop to China to import finished goods into Ghana while our NDC comatose leaders allow Chinese to flow into Ghana and take over any and all things natural, mineral and human resources with abundant Chinese money.
The NPP and NDC dimwits in the Diaspora do purchase made in China consumables without batting an eye but would pit democracy against communism/socialism as if the marked ideological differences matter and not the people running those governments. In the end all Ghanaians or Africans want is to be rich without the requisite work, sweat or brains; and we are failing. Why have we not looked to new ways of governing ourselves? It is because we do not get it.

• Mr Justice William Atuguba, the president of the nine-member panel of judges that heard the election petition.
With an election petition that sucked the energy of the nation; an economy that wobbled on huge budget deficit; a power crisis that dimmed the light of the nation for a long period of time; an inexplicable wave of fire outbreaks, especially at marketplaces, and a spellbound turbulence on the industrial front, the year 2013 has been extremely eventful and challenging for the government.
The year was also full of controversies and scandals, with the mystery surrounding the sale of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) drill ship and the sale of the state-owned Merchant Bank to Fortiz Equities Investment topping the list of controversies, while former deputy minister, Ms Victoria Hammah, and ex-Ghana international footballer, Nii Odartey-Lamptey, and his wife topped the list of scandals.
But the qualification of the senior national team, the Black Stars, for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, making it their third consecutive qualification, provided a perfect and necessary balm to relieve the nation of a rather stressful year.
Election petition
Ghanaians had been ushered into 2013 with a gruelling national election that nearly brought the nation to its knees, but the outcome of the election prompted a historic election petition in the country when three members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by its 2012 flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, challenged the Electoral Commission’s declaration of John Dramani Mahama as the president-elect.
For the first time in the history of Ghana, television cameras were allowed into the courtroom to beam proceedings at the Supreme Court live, and for the next eight months, the entire nation was held spellbound, as Ghanaians stuck to their television and radio sets to follow proceedings.
There were many interesting developments in the course of the proceedings, but the incarceration of Ken Kuranchie and Samuel Atubiga, and the fine imposed on NPP General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, aka Sir John, and Hopeson Adorye for contempt charges still linger in the minds of many Ghanaians.
The seriousness and tension that characterised the proceedings notwithstanding, there were moments of humour and laughter, and the most memorable of them all, perhaps, was when Lawyer Amekudzi, sprang from nowhere with an “amicus curiae brief.”
The President of the panel, Justice William Atuguba, also kept the audience alive with laughter from the beginning to the end of proceedings.
His “go to court, go to court” comment, while addressing a tired-looking EC Chairman, Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, on the judgement day, caused many people to crack their ribs with laughter.

Economy
The national economy has faced some major challenges during the year in spite of the positive gains made over the past few years in respect of some fiscal benchmarks.
With a huge budget deficit hanging around the neck of the government, it has struggled to raise the required revenue to finance various development projects.
A renowned Ghanaian economist and Fellow of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), Prof George Ayittey, was blunt in his appraisal of the state of the nation’s economy at an IEA forum last November.
“The government is hungry for revenue, and it is slapping taxes on anything that moves. Import duties, VAT, among other taxes, have all gone up, and we have reached a point where we must tell the government, ‘enough of these vampire taxes!’
“Ghanaians are overtaxed. If government wants people to tighten their belts, the government must tighten its own belt and cut the excessive spending habit,” he said.
Such criticisms might have informed the directive by President Mahama to cut down his salary and that of his lieutenants by 10 per cent and use the proceeds to undertake maternal health projects.
Power crisis
Ghana has experienced many power crises in the past, and although the power crisis in 2013 was not different from the others, it became a reference of national mockery.
First, it was about the tagging of the intermittent power outages as “dum so, dum so”, to wit, “off and on, off and on”.
Then, Ghanaians, in their humorous best, graduated that tagging into a greeting – “me ma wo dum so ooo”, meaning “I bring you off and on.”
Industrial actions
The spine of the Single Spine Pay Policy (SSPP) was severely fractured by a wave of industrial action with the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) and Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOPSA) leading the onslaught.
Other workers’ unions such as the Civil and Local Government Service Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) and the Federation of University Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG) also joined the fray to put further stress on the SSPP and pressure on the government to address their concerns.

Fire outbreaks
The year under review witnessed unprecedented and inexplicable fire outbreaks in parts of the country, particularly market places, in a manner that compelled the government to raise suspicion of arson and sabotage.
markets in Accra and the Central Market in Kumasi were all razed by fire, throwing thousands of traders into a state of helplessness.
The damage caused by the market fires in terms of loss of property and cash was colossal.
Based on the government’s suspicion, and in its resolve to contain the situation, the Mahama administration invited fire experts from the USA to partner with Ghanaian security agencies for an investigation into the causes of the fires.
The outcome of the investigations attributed the fire outbreaks to electrical faults.

Scandals
There is no year without scandals. And 2013 had its fair share of scandals with the leaked tape recording of a former deputy minister of Communication, Ms Victoria Hammah, staggering the nation.
On the tape, she alleged that the government bribed some of the Supreme Court judges who sat on the election petition case to deliver judgement in favour of President Mahama.
She also declared her ambition of making $1 million in her political life; comments that went viral on social media and attracted widespread public criticism, even long after the President had sacked her from office.
Another scandal that rocked the nation was the revelation by ex-Black Stars midfielder, Nii Odartey-Lamptey, after 20 years of marriage that he was not the father of ‘his three children.’
According to the footballer, he got to know about it after getting a DNA test done to ascertain the paternity of the children upon a long-held suspicion of infidelity against his wife.

World cup qualification
It took the exploits of Nii Odartey’s successors in the national team to rescue the nation from tension and animosity, as they qualified to participate in the FIFA World Cup tournament for the third consecutive time.
They achieved that feat in grand style by dismantling the Pharaoh’s of Egypt in a 7 – 2 goal aggregate, the worst result in the history of the Pharaohs.

International front
On the international front, the major event that happened in 2013 was the death of former South African President, Nelson Mandela.
He died at the age of 95 after a long battle with lung infection.
Indeed, the year 2013 will go down as one of the toughest years in the history of Ghana, but it will also be remembered as one of the most hilarious.
