Besides, the fact that Danquah might have suggested it and Nkrumah rejected it some decades ago, should not be a determinant for its approval or otherwise. I find it very ironic that Prof. Okoampa-Ahoofe is rejecting the idea of a Coalition Government simply because Dr. Jonah has indicated some leaning for the incumbent NDC that the Professor loathes, but bemoans the fact that Nkrumah would reject it when J. B. Danquah suggested it.
Do Ghanaians only have to embrace an idea of a Coalition Government only if it is being actively campaigned for by NPP and not its nemeses?
I, for one, would not support such a Government so long as our legal and moral frames remain weak against corruption and bigotry. If our folks keep the current level of apathy to these two vices, no form of Union Government would survive and be productive for our Nation's emergence from our predicament.
The circumstances more than who proposes the idea would be a better determinant for one's support of such an idea.
