When Cameron writes prose you can tell the force of his talent. His witticism and the words he used heightens and increase the state that he is describing to a great nicety.I have had reasons to criticize him when he opts out into the political retain because he looks vulnerable over there. But when it comes to conveying a message like he has just done ,he looks superb.Bravo to the man who wrote the cab boys.

The need for a sense of social conscience among the elite is even more warranted and justifiable in view of the fact that more often than not, they (elite) have their roots in the lower strata of the economic -and social- pyramid, having been able to climb up with education and networking. Who better to appreciate the need for external interventions ti improve the lot of those underneath, especially bearing in mind that it is precisely those beneath who push the elite up?

Efo Martin,
This is Andy-K welcoming you on board the Re-conscientisation, Re-Awakening African Consciousness Movement which I launched in the '90s on Okyeame. You were there! The De-brainwashing Campaign has faltered and the likes of TB Joshua and the horde of charlatans self-proclaimed prophets and bishops have invaded Ghana and taken control of the minds of even our Presidents and wannabe leaders, as you know. Any wonder they have all become gangs of "Thieves and Thiefettes" with no empathy for the common man, as the Wikileaks leaks revealed? From being told to eat kokonte, they (sufffering masses) are now being urged to migrate if they think their lot in Ghana is too bad!
As at yesterday, I saw that only one person had commented on your post, while the Brotherhood of Nitwits that haunt Ghanaweb were all shouting themselves hoarse over the T-Thing elsewhere! Not that they'd have anything sensible to say on your post though. I never got any traction on Okyeame, despite the battalion of graduates and PhD holders on that forum. Most don't have a clue what is ailing us as an ex-slave raiding and selling and then colonised country! That's why I surmised that had those who started giving us aid after independence sent us psychologists and shrinks, rather than economists and engineers, we'd have made much greater gains in our devtal efforts.
Anyway, the floor is yours but let me end this by sharing a story told to me in 2002 when in Ghana by a sibling who started playing golf, in response to my criticism of the crass mentality of the so-called elite of Ghana.
According to him, the golf course was in a bad state and a decision was reached to resurface and re-grass it. The expats who played there agreed to provide the machinery and in no time brought the graders, etc. to do the job. The Ghanaians were supposed to provide cash to pay for labour. You know what? The senior Ghanaian members hatched the diabolical idea that the caddies should provide free labour to do the job cos if the golf course was better, it'd attract more members and the caddies would make more money! The expats were pissed and took the machinery away! My brother, then a rookie, said he was speechless and didn't know what to say. Even those who know that things are not right don't say anything against the wrong things! It starts from our very homes!
DUODU,SIMPLY THE BEST.
