Akadu, just leave some of these people alone. I once posted that Akan is widely spoken everywhere in Ghana not because Akans impose their language on any other group. It is a business language and there is nothing that can be done to change that. Let any other group establish an FM and speak their language only and see if it can stay in business. Even the English speaking Only FM stations in Ghana cannot compete with most of the Akan stations.
Akadu, even look on this forum. Most insults including vulgar languages are done in Akan. Why? It is because such people want to reach a larger audience.

Most people who pollute Accra are the non-starters! They come in their numbers every tickling second from their various villagers into Accra to pay their way into the warm hearted Gas abode and mess with impudence the Gas heritage.
The problem with the Gas are selfish to their own folks but serviceable and magnanimous to non-Gas with the hope of gaining in return cash or cheap rewards.
There are few Gas who own Radio stations but who cares..they do not think about the dying language of theirs.
Typical example is XYZ (FM).

Look at Kasapreko Company, making good business on the soil of Accra. The owner thinks only helping his native folks. Has he thought of giving out scholarship to some of the deprieved Gas around his outfit catchment area?
Don't you feel sorry for the Gas being discriminated in their own homeland. Even the Government is a culprit in this regard.
How will you feel if someone came to meet your grandmum in her village and started speaking a language she would not understand. Wouldn't she tell the stranger in her own local language,"Please I don't understand".
But here in Accra, the Gas are so magnanimous to non-Gas and co-exist with them, which must be naturally so.

Allotey, you have set yourself a herculean task in promoting the Ga language. It is difficult to promote a language that is spoken only in a particular area. Learning a new language is hard especially when the people around you speak a different one. English and Akan share one trait
that is they are spoken in a wide area. In Ghana five of the ten regions have Akan as the main language, of the remaining five, Akan is spoken in Greater Accra more than even Ga because of the influence of the Kwahus, the Akwapims, the Akims and the Ashantis. Ghana has taught French in our secondary schools since
colonial times because we are surrounded by French speaking countries, but up to now most Ghanaians can't speak French. Akans
make up more than 50% of the population of Ghana and they are everywhere in Ghana working. English is widely spoken because the British had colonies on every inhabitable continent, even in Europe where they
had Malta and still have Gibralter, on the tip of Spain. America did its part through movies, education and money. I appreciate the sentiment behind what Allotey is saying but realistically, it is not possible.
Gas must stand up and protect their language and heritage. I think Alottey kpakpo is a great guy and if all Gas listen to what he is saying, things will turn around. Gas must proudly speak their language first instead trying ...
