Who should not have gone so early
He is celebrated all over the world
Last week in Nairobi, Kenya
Today in New York, the USA
In London, UK
In Pretoria, South Africa
In Lagos, Nigeria
And of course in Accra, Ghana.
Mensema's poetry
Should educate but not divide
The Professor's poetry
Should not cast insinuations
I know poetry lies in the mind of the beholder.
So let the interpretation flow

The types of Akadu and Okoampa will do worse than Rawlings and Nkrumah combined if they had access to the power those leaders had.

Ghanaweb is one of the greatest things that happened on the Ghanaian media scene... a forum for news and for us to share ideas and make constructive suggestions and criticisms to make this country better. But it has turned out to be something totally different: a forum where we do nothing but hurl insults at each other...day in and day out. Sometimes we end up insulting our own spouses without even realizing it because there are a lot of inter-tribal marriages in Ghana these days.
Every single day, we write things that invoke nothing but hatred and anger in other tribes, religions and political leanings. And the people at the receiving end of those insults and put-downs naturally come firing right back, with more of the same, sometimes more intense... and the cycle continues, like an unstoppable chain reaction. Sadly, our kids are watching and copying from us and as sure as night and day, they will pass this on to their own kids. Not a very bright future.
Deep down, we all want tribal, political and religious tolerance, and achieving that should start right from our daily writings---everyone of us. Writing is not about using offensive words to put our points across. We need to stop using all those acidic and divisive words that invoke anger and hatred in other people. It doesn't help us in any way.
So the challenge for us is this: Ghanaweb doesn't have editors to edit our writings. Let us be our own writers and our own editors. Before we post anything on Ghanaweb, we should go over everything we write with a fine toothcomb and weed out any words that you think MAY offend somebody else, especially now that our political landscape is so charged with pensive emotions. It will be one way to really start fanning out this satanic flame of hatred that is leaching away our national soul. I may be naïve, but I think we can do it, right from our own doorsteps.
And that applies more so to our politicians. Inside the chamber, they can insult each other to death if they choose to. Things sometimes flare out during political debates and we can understand that. It happens in every country. But once outside the walls of the house, they should set good examples.

Koo,
You are reading something into this. I've said this and I'll say it again: my comments wasn't meant for Akadu. Her article, as you yourself rightly said, was meant to open up a channel for dialogue and my article was just that. Did you really read Akadu's article or again, did you just scratch the surface? And did you read my article? In both instances, the underlying message, although not so obvious to you, was one of reconciliation and understanding.
I don't want to say much beyond this but I'll say this: as you continue to read, please keep an open mind and try not to look at things just from the surface. Also, it will help if you could try to think around sharp corners.
Have a good night and may God help you along your journey of hatred.
PEACE.

As an educated Ghanaian, one would expect you to use your knowledge to unify not to divide.
It's obvious, you haven't still gotten over your Party's recent Supreme Court defeat. You're one of the reasons why the Ashantis especially and the Akyems have been accused of looking down on the other tribes because you have a warped philosophy that you're ordained to rule Ghana. If it doesn't happen, then the 'verdict was stolen.'
Once again, I say, 'Shame . . .Shame . .Shame . . .Shame On You!'
