How are you going to die since there is no difference between you and Awoonor, Kpega, and Co?
NPP members who are mostly sons and daughters of vicious tribalist, angry terrorist, bitter, and extreme litigants simply cannot tolerate differing views of each other let alone those who do not belong to their inner cycle.
You challenge them and they will hate you for life and will pass on the message of hate to their children from generation to generation. They will never give any one a peace of mind as long as things do not go their way.
They will worship with you in the same churches yet once they get out of church the preaching changes from the message of Christ to that of hate. They will pretend they are a peace loving and tolerant Ghanaians but remains more vicious than pit Vipers. Check their articles on Ghana web even when they attack each other, its laced with deadly venom.
They jubilated and celebrated the death of Awoonor because Awoonor was a tribalist yet some of the jubilants such as this writer have been preaching tribal hate for decades on Ghana web. I wonder if they ever ponder over their own fates since the same that befell Awoonor could befall them or a much worse form.
Most of them are in the diaspora and have no love for mother Ghana yet cannot stop disturbing the ears of those who are down there sacrificing and doing their best for mother Ghana.
NPP Party as it stands now needed to be avoided like a plague if you love all Ghanaians. Join them if you are a vicious intolerant tribalist who also believes in bombings. The NDC on the other hand is filled with clueless people but at least more tolerant. I therefore I ask all peace loving Ghanaians to consider voting for the CPP in the next general elections.

When the "offending" sections were recently posted on SIL, there many who were surprised, as if that was all? They had read worse from Akans, of course.
I read that book cover to cover and the follow-up to it devoted to specially to Asantes and Ewes, which his accusers don't see any thing wrong with cos it was so full of praises for Asantes!
How could a book published in 1984 inspire the 31st Dec coup and all the bad things that happen prior to the publication of the book? By some magic???? Awoonor's book was about things that happened prior to 31st Dec. I shall repost the background to why Awoonor wrote the way he did.

Why should we be bedeviled with slimy jerks like this cretin and all of you insulting the memory of Awoonor?
When they are challenged to produce what exactly Awoonor wrote to incur their venomous bile, they skulk away. That has been the case since the 1990s when this issue first cropped up in cyberspace. It was only recently that someone posted the so-called "offending" portions of his book, The Ghana Revolution," on SIL and most people were surprised and started asking whether that was all he wrote. Some were even shocked by the deprecating words in which he described both Kotoka and Harlley, assuming that a person tagged "Ewe tribalist" should be praising those two misguided characters who let out the evil genie Nkrumah had bottled up in the form of the Matemeho supremacists, simply cos they are "Ewe heroes," eh? They asked if he was not right after all, judging from all the anti-Ewe diatribes, demonisation and vilification that preceded the 1969 General Elections, followed by Apollo 586? Now his accusers on SIL are on retreat, having been exposed as ignorant fools who have not even read the book themselves! Kante even called for cease fire but we shall not stop any fire until we have totally routed these evil and dishonest intellectually dishonest and bankrupt jerks.
I read Awoonor's book and the one he specially devoted to Asantes and Ewes as a follow up to the Ghana Revolution. If he were an Akan hater, Asantes in particular, then it should have come clear in that 2nd book. I've more problem with that book than the first. But since he was just full of praises for the Asantes too, elevating them to the top pedestal to lead Ghana to the Promised Land (I am afraid together with Ewes) no Asante or Akan ever mention that book! Or they are too embarrassed to do so? I was when I first read it. Or are they bloody ignorant of its existence? The late Dr Francis Appiah, the grandson of Baffour Akoto of the NLM fame, actually made copies of the two books for me in far away Norway. Luckily, Francis was an educated man unlike some of his kinsfolk. The only objection we both have to Awoonor's analysis of the contest for power in Ghana was that he kept it "Chazan-like" as an ethnic imbroglio b/n Ewes on the one hand and Akans/Asantes on the other; the level which he claimed, in his own words, was "reducing" it into "simple terms" by the opponents to the Ewes he lambasted. So he knew that such a reductionist scenario was simplistic even though that's what we continue to see coming from the opponents of the PNDC/NDC up to today! This Akadu even wrote that ALL ministers were Ewes in order to fall in line with their obtuse logic. Awoonor didn't dwell very much on the complex picture he said it was, focusing more on the persecution and hounding of Ewes particularly by Busia and his PP and the fall outs into the NRC era, which eventually led to his own imprisonment. But that is not enough to draw all the tantrums and false claims which some evil and dubious Akans, particularly some foolish and ignorant Asantes who haven't even read the book, have been making against him! Yes. Almost all didn't even read the book; only distorted hearsay!
As for the accusation of being an Ewe first, I had tackled that on SIL, just as DAWU too. For heaven's sake: the man was born in 1935 when there was no Ghana! In fact, I was also an Ewe first before before Ghana was born. Asantes were not even members of the Gold Coast colony until 1946 when the Burns Const. incorporated; so they could not even claim to be Gold Coasters before 1946! And most Ewes didn't want to be part of the emerging Ghana in 1956 but were dragged in kicking and thrashing. At this very moment, the secessionist movt in the VR is even more active than before. They now even appear on radio talks in the VR and hold meetings openly without fearing arrest, as was even the case under Rawlings. I learned that the former VR Secretary under the PNDC was removed cos he was falsely accused of plotting secession. All this another story but I am just mentioning the fact that there are Ewes who still dream of separating from Ghana. To them, instead of tackling the ethnic abuses and prejudices heaped upon Ewes by fellow Ghanaians, their response is Let Us Separate! Join us to secede. They are finding recruits in young fellas who are much pissed up with their parents and the Ewe elite's failure to deal with the canker of ethnic prejudice and demonisation against Ewes. It is just a matter of time when there will be trouble.
You ignorant evil bastards should leave Awoonor alone to rest in peace. He was a warrior, the Gbonugla of Anlo, and died a warrior's death. As he knew,
"A man's death is never far away, Only a woman's death is far away....
Afor ma de, ma de, dzogbe ma la tsi!"
so the Anlo war song goes. He prepared for his death, and a few days before his untimely death, even told an audience in Nairobi that he wasn't afraid of death! He fought a good fight and we owe it to his memory to continue where he stopped and rout the "enemies".
He lived his life and it was such a large life none of you sods can ever dream of achieving one hundredth of it! His memory shall ever live on in his own words long after your bones are rotten.
I intend to write a full response to all this calumnies against Awoonor soon. I shall take no prisoners, just like he didn't do in his book/s.

When I was a graduate student at Princeton, in my first year, I visited Bronx where my sister was living in the same apartment complex with Prof Kofi Awoonor. At the time, he was lecturing part time at Columbia and pursuing his final ph.d. dissertation.
What I remember about him is that he would often speak FANTI to my sister encouraging her to be closer to his (Kofi's) wife rather than the other gullible, gossipy Ghanaians in the same complex because he found my sister articulate and educated. I spoke often with him in Fanti and he was full of excitement whenever Ghana came up. Even at that time he did not look that old; I am surprised that he was 78. May he rest in peace - those who knew him up close really considered him classy and he fitted into many Ghanaian ethnic groups and backgrounds because he spoke so many Ghana languages.... it was always difficult to pin him as an Ewe. His English was nothing like an ewe accent!!! He reminded me that part of the Awoonor-Willliams larger family hails from Saltpond in the Central Region, just as the Renners.

This shows that Nkrumah was a better thinker than you, Okoampa-Ahoofe, since you still cannot understand that such an ideological compound makes sense.
Another unlevel-headed aspect of you write-up is the fact that you do not appreciate that you are a victim of the failed revolution Nkrumah started in Ghana and intended to extend to the whole of the African continent. Had Nkrumah succeeded in his revolution, Ghana and Africa would have developed economically, socially, culturally and politically. The result would have been something much like what we see in China today where they have their own awards for those who deserve recognition in any field of study or any other achievement. They do not grovel before the West for recognition . That is the true meaning of independence. May be I should not be surprised that you don't see the sense in the total emancipation envisaged for Ghana/Africa by Nkrumah. That will be because you and your forebears are so narrow-minded or little-minded that you seem to be content with the cramps thrown at you by the West under the neocolonial structure your UP people helped to perpetuate by collaborating with the West to overthrow Kwame Nkrumah to keep us as an appendage of the West. Therefore, don't complain if you are told such silly stuff like the one you are complaining about: that an African does not deserve the Nobel Prize in Literature (a prize awarded by your Western neocolonial masters). Had Nkrumah succeeded in revolutionizing our continent, I believe you would not have gone in search of greener pastures in the West because the grass would have been much much greener here in Africa with a better economy and industrial capacity as well as a much higher literacy level, more academic institutions and better literary awards to gun for here in Africa with global recognition. Therefore, stop bashing Kwame Nkrumah at the least opportunity else you expose yourself too much to those who are enlightened. It is a shame that you do not understand yourself that well!!!

You introduce that paragraph with Ms. Swenson as your creative writing teacher. Yet, in the next sentence you write: "I would receive a precautionary letter-grade of a "B," for refusing to attend a party organized IN HER private residence for our class by Ms. Swenson" (emphasis mine).
First, I believe the preposition you were looking for is 'at' her residence - not "in" her residence.
Also, since you mentioned the party was organized at her (Ms. Swenson's) residence, that was good enough. You did not need to add that it was "by Ms. Swenson". Clutter is not something you should aspire to.
Just by the foregoing, my dear Kwame, you were lucky to receive the letter-grade "B", don't you think?
