NPP is doomed because it has some extreme and extensive BAGGAGE. Even if Obama runs on an NPP ticket they will never win.
Money is the root of many evils. Look at all these poor and unsophisticated bush men and women of the NPP who have come to see how sweet money and power can be, so with a little book knowledge they have lost sight of "humble beginnings". They are doomed for some time. Not even "I" the mighty one can change its course. Their internal struggles are much larger than that which they have with regular citizens.

Just look at the composition of the National Executive of the party. Is it dominated by any ethnic group? Apart from Sir John I do not know of any Asante in the National Executive so please stop this nonsense that the Asantes and Akyims are the enemies of NPP. What stupidity is this? In any case who said Dr Frimpong Boateng is wholely from the Western Region? Do you know that according to Asante custom and practice, Alan Kyerematen is not an Asante. His mother comes from Elmina so really he is Fante. Isaac Osei's mother is Nzema, so you see he is not an Asante. We must put a stop to this tribal nonsense and rather select people who can do the job.

In the NDC, until Mills death, they were 2 factions-one that was seen to be of more Fantes and the other of more Ewes. So factions are not peculiar to only NPP but any serious party as well. What the NDC and the divisive agents in Ghana do is to just pretend they don't know these things and deliberately fuel tribal sentiments.
Finally, the NPP will not impose anybody on the party because of his tribe. You have to build your support base, irrespective of whether you are an Ewe, Asante, Gonja or Bono. Akufo Addo is more popular in the party not because of his tribe but because of his records in Ghana's politics and his contribution to the NPP. If you mischievous men find any man in the NPP today who has contributed to the party and Ghana more than Akufo Addo, tell us instead of the daily garbage you continue to spew onto our political space. Don't just sit down and deliberately or ignorantly spew nonsense as if you cannot do critical thinking.

Where should people from the North vote for Bawumia as Vice when they already have Mahama as President? And, the man as Vice to Mills had proven more dexterous - in fact, very brazen - in sending the pork home than the previous 8 years of the late Vice of the NPP from Tamale. The problem is much deeper than the simplistic postulates we are reading.
You may be right about the Asante hubris BUT is it only the Asantes in the NPP who are tribalistic? Methinks you are wrong on that claim. Everyday we are regaled with ethnocentric taunts of trokosi, ayigbe, pepeni, ntafuo and what not by the supporters of the NPP on this very forum. Are they all Asantes?
In Ghana, we even had some of their leaders calling on Akans, in particular Asantes, to fight or kill non-Akans, in particular Ewes and Gas. They became national heroes among the NPP supporters for doing that, and ALL Die Be Die T-Shirts were in popular demand. Asantes were quick to remind us that Agyapong is from Assin-Foso and therefore not an Asante. Hmm! True! That area is no longer under the hegemony of the old Asante Kingdom, granted.
Just the other day, I was told that that scion of an escaped Asante slave, Osei Tawiah, who sees everything in tribal terms, is a Brong, not an Asante. Well, Profs. Adu Boahen's and Kwame Arhin's "Greater Asante" has been cut down to size long ago before Nkrumah took his scissors to cut off some more! So, we grant that Bonos have been liberated from the "Asante yoke," even though we were once reminded that some of the devastating Asante attacks on the Fantes were led by their chiefs. That was once upon the time when Techiman and Oseikrom were in league at Manhyia!
Need I say more about this "Akan" conundrum?
As for your suggestion of choosing an Ewe as probably the presidential candidate, it is just another pipe dream! Kufuor side it a long time ago that not even Quashiga as presidential candidate would have garnered the votes of the Anlos, not to mention that of Ewedome (Krepi in the annals) where the Asantes of old (Yeah! Greater Asante) and their tripartite allies the Akwamus and Anlos, not to mention the chiefdoms in those areas which out of self-preservation used to assist them in plundering, committing genocides and hunting for captives and loot! You see, we Ewes had learned our lessons the hard way! If sufficient captives were not got, you the traitorous collaborators were fair game to be tricked and cajoled into slavery instead of your reward of gold dusts! Go to Kontsiabu and ask! Or you wait for me to tell the story in full soon.
And what did the coup engineered by Harlley, Kotoka and Deku bring us Ewes? Apollo 586 after the worst tribalistic demonisation ever seen in Ghana's political annals! So, I can assure you that any Anlo who stands on the NPP political platform shall be cut down by some of us to size! That party of ingrates, mentally jaundiced and warped people has nothing to offer us we "ayigbes", "trokosis" and "pepenis" which the NDC or some other party can't offer!
