The Zambians should be ashamed of how they conducted themselves for this match. As the author says, no real rivalry has existed between Ghana and Zambia until this campaign. Furthermore almost ALL Ghanaians fell in love with Zambia after the plane crash that the author referred to. Zambia's behaviour during this match has completely erroded ALL goodwill that they had with Ghanaian supporters.
However one thing we should never forget is that Zambia would never even have been in the position to challenge Ghana if it had not been for the free 3 points they got off Sudan.
As the author rightly says, Zambia did not concentrate on their game, but rather got consumed in their propaganda war.
The banter between Ghana v Nigeria football is fierce but friendly, however the Zambians treated us with malice. Despite the love all Ghanaians had for them after the tragedy of '93, they have proved themselves to be a bunch of nasty people! I am disappointed in Zambia.
Well done author, good article!

Zambians have no one to blame but themselves. They should go back home and lean what true football rivalry means.Football rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria for instance can sometimes be fierce but friendly.Ghana/Nigerian games are played only on the pitch in a spirit of love and fraternity. Football matches by their very nature can sometimes be contentious but once the game is over, the looser immediately starts preparing for a win in the next possible match in the future no matter how long it might be. That is the spirit of that beautiful game of football.
