Ghanaians always love to praise John Boye which is understandable but I beg to differ that Boye was not better than Jonathan Mensah in defence. Of all the good things said about him Boye is too quick to put his foot in in situations where he could have just guared the opponent to either pass the ball. In one such instance he gave a free kick in a vital area which could have cost us. For my money Mensah is a more calm level headed defender with no airs around him and better than Boye.

For example, if another community invites your community to come and give a speech on a special occasion, you just don't pick a member of your community by random to represent you.
If you just pick by random, you can end up picking someone like GH FUO to go and represent your community.

Thumbs up Sammy for your expert post mortem on the match. I am particularly impressed for noting that Ayew must release the ball to team mates on time. To put it bluntly had he not been selfish when Ghana made a brilliant counter attack and released the ball to Gyan who had managed to evade his markers, Ghana could have been 3-0 up before the Zambians scored. Dede must show maturity and learn to know that in modern football assists are as important as scoring goals. In fact it was not only him who was guilty of selfishness. Agyeman Badu was the same. In a similar counter attacking move, he wanted to go all the way instead of releasing the ball to Christian Atsu who had timed his run ready for the pass. It was only when he realised he couldn't go it alone before he attempted to pass to his team. It was too late and the Zambians were able to intercept thwarting a good opportunity to score. This selfish streak was one of the drawbacks of the Stars performance on the day. Hope the technical team made the same observation and intend to work on it for the tough hurdle ahead.

Yes indeed so many things to work out before the play-off. And you are spot on Kojo, about the reason why the Stars man to man play was not seen for some time in the second half: selfish play and the quest to play to the gallery. Contrary, the Zambians showed more team play and as such were able to stick passes together with their one-touches. No wonder some saw them as the better side on the day. They controlled the midfield and showed more cohesion than the Stars, especially in the Second Half. The other major thing to work on is concentration. That cost us the Zambian goal. A Ghanaian player(won't mention name) was standing aloof next to Sinkala. Asamoah pointed this out the player immediately the goal was conceded. These weaknesses seem to be long-time problems for the Black Stars hindering their ability to maintain World Class standards. The technical awareness and ability have improved tremendously. It is just these shortcomings which need to be worked on. If they are done, the world must watch out.

Haaa I daff, "COHESION" & "CONCENTRATION"
And believe me, no amount of talented players one team could have, any coach or technical experts who IGNORES those above two PHRASES can never succeed no matter what.
When it comes to talents, we were far 70% talented than the Zambian, but their coach input the whole players to play COHESION & CONCENTRATION game because it a team work but not talents at that moment. The paid heed to the coach's advice and dominated the B/S as if we were learning how to play at the beginning.
Too many talents and every one wants to sprout out for fame at once. We have to be very, very careful of that situation. Our declining of midfield power we used to be were mere these factors.
I hope some of the technical team are listening.

Bro. Stallion, it is still going to be a Battle Royal, whichever team we face. So we must psyche up to face any opposition. I can only say that as one of the expected seeded teams, we certainly will not face Cote d'Ivoire; Algeria; Nigeria or Burkina Faso who will move into the slot of eliminated Mali(3rd on Fifa Africa rankings). Among the teams that we are likely to face are Egypt; Senegal; Ethiopia; Cape Verde; Cameroon or Libya. So there will be no easy meat. So we must be prepared whatever destiny throw at us.

Stallion I have gone back to refresh my home work. Currently the top 5 ranked teams in Africa are Cote d'Ivoire; Ghana; Mali; Algeria and Nigeria. Cape Verde lies in 6th. But since Mali have been eliminated, Cape Verde stands to be the 5th seeded team. So Ghana's opponents are likely to be either Egypt, Senegal, Burkina Faso; Ethiopia or Camerooon(who have just beaten Libya). So the Black Stars still face a formidable task whichever team they face. However, I believe we have the resources to overcome any of those teams. What is required is proper planning and organisation.

Dede has always been selfish.Like father like son. That kind of play does not bring in goals, and his dribbling is too easy to read.If he learns to relese the ball early ,he will be a better player.
It all depend on the coach. If the coach finds hanging on the ball find, he will keep that player in the game otherwise m,ake a change.
if the coach pull them out, they get mad and start insulting him. he disciplined them and we the fans start treating him like trash in the case of Muntari and Dede Ayew sometime ago. Dede should pass the ball and cross the ba ...
