Doc. Ohemeng, thanks so much for your beautiful piece. I sincerely hope that the Supreme Court Justices, would read this piece and reflect on the horrible thing they've done to Ghana and her citizens. Thursday, August 29 will go down in Ghana's political history as a "Dark Thursday" never to be forgotten. I posted my comments moments after the bogus verdict. I now realise that I'm not the only one who's disappointed by the Supreme Court.

How was justice murdered? I can't really understand what you are trying to say here. Was it because of Atuguba's speech or NPP's case being thrown out?
If it is about Atuguba's speech, then I will somehow I agree with you, but I can't accept the fact that justice was murdered. However, I might agree with a suggestion that will better help us to select a knowledgeable justice to our courts.
This is what Paa Mintah said under Pryce's article sometime ago.
"A superb oratory skills is a pre-requisite for any trial attorney and a judge. The art of lawyering precludes that supposition that one has to read from a prepared script. The same applies to judges who have to make instant decisions and explain sections of the law by their actions. If you're a Mumu judge who takes 2 minutes to complete a sentence, albeit laced with incoherent erhms and haws, you portray incompetence and degradation in authority. Lawyering and judging is 70% oratory and 30% clerical. In our traditional Ghanaian chieftiency court setting, no slow tongue, speech impaired person is ever appointed a linguist. And that may be that we had no written communication but nothing beats great oratorical skills. A mumu judge/lawyer might as well seek another line of work."
--
So I am not surprised that up till this date, Atuguba has not been able to put his thoughts together. However, I was not expecting from what I heard on that day.
Having said that, I am worried that you have decided to stop the plans you had for the kids or students back home. Why would you stop a project like that? Are you telling us that you will only help Ghana when NPP is in power? Or have you giving up on Ghana all together. I don't know.
I don't know if you thought Akufo would have changed Ghana magically by building your vicarious adomi-bridge type across the Densu River. Have you forgotten that Kufuor and NPP ruled the country for 8 years? And they boasted about having paved a first class road from Accra to Kumasi?
Just like me, you have the right to be frustrated, but thinking and hoping that manna were going to fall and our streets would turn to Gold, had SC upheld the petition is a little bit ingenuous on your part.
Don't throw you hands in the air, but counsel the NPP to work hard and choose the right leaders. Remove the Asante-Akyem label from the party by choosing Bawumia. Why is it possible to see all Northerners ruling the country and NPP can't find some Northerners to work with them? These are some of the questions you need to answer.
Eccentric people in the party like Sir John, Ursula, and Ken Agyapong are albatross on the party. The party leaders should rebuke them outright in their irresponsible attacks on the President and anyone. I can insult the President and it would not affect the party. But such people shouldn't. This is what is tearing the party apart. Yet, you guys have decided to play an eye for an eye with the NDC. It is wrong.
Let's move on with the verdict and work harder to make a change in the live of others whether individually or collectively.

Nyasasem,
You got it all wrong. It is not about NPP winning this particular case. It is about doing the right thing. While we wait for the judges' written judgements, what is really intriguing is the fact that all nine judges over-ruled the use of ghost polling stations, with s foged letter purpoting to have been signed by Nana Akufo-Addo, posted on the 7th of December and received on the 3rd, Habah!
How about a single polling station where three or four separate results, with permutations of Pri Sch, Prim School, Primary Sc, Prim Sc? And there were over 900 such stations. Surely, it does not take more than primary school arithmetic to realise there is something wrong. In fact, personally when I heard that those issues had been dismissed, I knew what was coming was just a waste of time.
Remember the UGCC was born and financed in Fantiland, by Paa Grant. The late da Rocha was General Secretary of the NPP, and the PP, for several years, as well as Haruna Esseku being national chairman. Dombo was part of it as well. If the present generation of Fantis and other tribes do not wish to take positions (and I experienced it at PTA elections over many years in Accra!)
Some of us simply do not like to take responsibility for anything. I can bet my bottom penny that Sir John was elected on opposed, because I cannot see that guy standing an election with anybody and beating him (Okyere de nyimpa kor no so waasa paa!!)
Finally, unless the inherent fraudulent issues within our electoral system are resolved, EC will continnue to foist candiates on the people of Ghana, no matter what anyone does!

Mr Nicholas, don't mind that pink sheet fraudster of a 'Doctor'. Ghana has produced so many useless doctors who think their qualification is a license to write any thing and expect Ghanaians to swallow such without question. Before the verdict, precisely when the trial was on, the NPP said they were in court for justice,a very subjective form of it - that the party's candidate be declared a winner after discarding legitimate votes, the pink sheets of which their own candidates signed without raising any concerns at the constituency level, either at the polling stations or the collation centres in constituencies where they had party executives throughout Ghana. The next line of fraud was to try and hide from scrutiny pink sheets from their strongholds and other places where they won. I am not lawyer but something stuck me that there is something wrong with the pink sheets Mr Addison was objecting to , i.e. Asokwa and Walewale. I came to the conclusion that petitioners were not being truthful as they were claiming and that the case was going to be decided on half-truths. Elections took place in 26,002 polling stations, including the 'unknown' polling stations for which petitioners had copies of pink sheets through their agents.Despite all the legal arguments, the ordinary voters whose votes we were being told had to be annulled felt concerned and wondered why their votes should not count in electing the president of the Republic. The sympathizers of NPP, including certain lawyers who appear on discussion programs of the multi-media group, have always shown to viewers where their sympathy lie despite their pretense. To come to the right decision on who actually won the NPP should have brought all pink sheets together with a comprehensive analysis to prove beyond all reasonable doubts they were for the truth. This they deliberately refused to do. Every allegation made to the EC to stop the declaration of results were discarded by petitioners only to come to court with an entirely new sets of allegations. Justice and truth are bed fellows and must not change from day one. Unfortunately, NPP come to court with half truths and I challenge any lawyer to prove otherwise. Despite swearing with the Holy Quran, Dr Bawumia knew deep down in his heart that he was not telling the truth before God(Allah) and man.Must we go to any lengths for the sake of power? What of the hereafter? SO Dr pink sheet should just tell Ghanains why since 'me and you were not there' Dr Bawumia could not call just one other witness of his choice from the 26,002 polling stations to support a single allegation? You do not ride on falsehood to electoral victory any where in the world where there is law and order. 'Doctor's' piece is targeted at the disappointed NPP supporters, instead of reasonable Ghanaians.

Shame on you again and your NPP sympathizers on the supreme court. Tsatsu was right to call out Anim Yeboah. The truth hurts sometimes. I do not see why you think people's opinoins are solely based on tribe of region, etc. Dr. Ohemeng wrote a very beautiful piece. It was well thought of, and touched on several events that came up during the proceedings. he even put out some of his visions for the country Ghana (not for any particular tribe, or clan, etc)..... Yet, your comments went straight to 'tribalism'... I think you should look in the mirror, and ask yourself what it is that makes you not appreciate where you come from, and why you are they way you are...... but instead waste your life away worried about tribes, etc. Just so I don't forget, try writing a full article as Dr. Ohemeng did..... I bet you cannot!

I have either schooled or lived in at least six of the regions of Ghana in different towns, as well. Ashanti is the only region I know that welcomes "tribal chiefs or heads". When the Asantehene sits in state, Fantis, Akyems, Gas, Dagombas, etc, all have their chiefs sitting as well, and actually vote on certain issues.
Akyeampong was Asante but his greatest opposition came from Asante. With others, even when their people are patently wrong, it is still "We yown". No, my in-laws simply fight against cheating no matter whose goat is being gored!

All that Akufo Addo could showcase as his evidence was heaps of pink sheets with some clerical errors. Nobody came forward to give any evidence indicting his opponent of any wrong doing and indeed, during and after the election,no reports were received from any quarters complaining of any widespread irregularities or any thing of that sort. The argument of the petitioners was that all the evidence was on the face of the pink sheet. It was quite clear that a case built on such a premise was bound to fail, for it lacks merit. It was therefore not a surprise when the petition was finally thrown out.
I know, there is no way Yaw Ohemeng and the likes will be appeased by the kind of verdict they received, considering where he is coming from, but he should bear it in mind that for justice to prevail, legal battles should not be one sided. It should be played on a level field. In a case, you do not cover evidence which may go against you and project that of your opponent and say he is the wrong doer.
What kind of justice does Yaw Ohememg want from the justices? Is it the All-Die-Be-Die justice which will make Akufo-Addo president at all cost? Whether justice has been murdered or not,the justices have spoken. Any ranting or grumbling will not change any thing period! Instead of using this time to cry over a split milk, members of the All-Die-Be-Die Club must channel all their energy into planning towards the 2016 polls. A word to the wise is in the EAST!!

Dr Ohemeng posture after the verdict betrays his lack of objectivity and balance. He has taken the posture that unless the verdict goes the way he sees it, then it is an injustice. One would have thought that that such mentality is the domain of the unlettered but incredibly Yaw's bias had beclouded his sense of judgement and had therefore distanced himself from being open minded.
The true spirit of a judicial hearing is that a decision can go either way.Dr Ohemeng's must realize that these judges are supposed to make a sound and fair decision based on the law, and not his own beliefs. In making those decisions, the judges focus on the actual state of the law and not what Dr Ohemeng and co desires. If that is what he thinks is wrong with the verdict then it is unfortunate.
If he thinks he should withdraw his investment and his inputs to better Ghana because of the verdict then it is even more unfortunate. My only misgiving is that he has failed the test of intellectual objectivity.

How was justice murdered? I can't really understand what you are trying to say here. Was it because of Atuguba's speech or NPP's case being thrown out?

IT IS TRIBALISM THAT IS KILLING US!
I will not be tribalistic against Bawumia for 2016 as I did against Aliu Mahama in 2008.
Good for you, Akadu!
NPP Asante Kotoko supporters have not recovered from the stupid SC verdict so we are not in mood for any soccer to go to the Kumasi stadium to support the black stars so please change the venue to Mahama's home town.
