Problem with Essien is that he is now very scared that he would get hurt and all would be over for him.
He has to take chanc, the BS is his best option for a career revival.
That exactly is what Kevin Boateng the weazel is doing, it works very well.

I think you are living in fools' paradise. You write as if Michael Essien is in die need of the Black Stars in order to rescue his career.
To begin with, there is nothing for Essien to rescue. The guy can retire from active football today and will still be happy (materially, emotionally, etc) the rest of his life. He has had an excellent football career and there is nothing for him now to rescue. You think Essien is somebody like you--broke, unhappy and unsatisfied--hence you are projecting your mental image unto him. Not it well, Essien does not need your advice to survive

Ken I concur with your wise advice to Essien. On the other note, we shouldn't force any or beg any disgruntle player to come and play for our beloved nation. Past players played with pride, passion and commitment with no strings attached. As much as we like Essien whom has played for nation since joining the junior national side, but has now decided or picked his club over the national team so be it. All that we need to do is to move forward and give those up and coming youth the needed attention and respect.

You know why you are having repeated injuries? a diabolical Pastor quizzes.
It is that first wife-to-be whom you had rejected.
Remember when she had threatened a law suit for defamation, pain and suffering, Child support, alimony and all that?
OOPS! Perhaps, no. It is probably that 'Obibinibroni', that godess of an actress whom you despized in the wake of her well publicsized 'Love connection' that turned soar.
Oh no! no. It might have been MIkel OBI. That disgruntled team mate of yours who doubles as a bedmate of another quack pastor, the most reverend T.B. Joshua who in concert with your own greedy father, who apparently had expected too much from you by using your mother as the yardstick per your ungodly indiscriminate handouts OR possibly, its the entire soccer fans( including myself) spiritually working against your progress for refusing to bail us out when we needed you the most. This is Ghana for you. Haaaaa
In the "Essien would do himself good" article, I remember having mooted the same idea.
If he had thought it wise, he would have participated in the Lesotho/Sudan games, and bet you me, he would have touched them so hard his place in ChelC back in StamfordBridge would have been secured.
Unfortunately, Essien is not the smartest of men amongst men.Just meagre and stupid.
Whilst players, all over the world are crazy about representing their motherland in Brazil, my good Essien is unpurturbed at all.
It does not make one genius, one proud, having to be loved by love.
One should show no wonders, surprises and no pity as to the mistakes Essien have been doing in relation to his inability to tell Ghanaians the truth.
Before his 'Funny Foundation Fund' raiser, he had assured he would let Ghana know about the date for his return. Apparently, that was a white blanket lie.
WE were deceived into thinking that, especially, when his new found intelligent and supposed celebrated wife, OOPS! a concubine, what's the name again? most of us thought, he definitely, was coming back good time enough to partake Zambia. Apparently not."Apae Dankwa, w'aaaaama!!!"
Infact, Mike, my idol, has broken my heart.
At this point, I cannot tell the 'Essien effect' on the Governor's weak heart but I know essien is now not in Mr N's Blue book.
POWer wrote him off long before now.
Now, the question is: Why is the Essien we loved so much is deliberately creating enemies for himself?
The popular saying that "a coward dies many times before their natural death confuses me a lot.
What gives?
Beats Me.

Michael Essien, you have won Best player for Africa(BBC Edition) once or twice. You have been in the CAF Top three two or more occasions. Probably injury prevented you from being the BEST. Now back in action for Madrid first, and now in Chelsea, coupled with your Charity efforts (Foundation) you stand a chance of being reckoned again, BUT your efforts must include playing for your National Team. What are you afraid of? I assure you that with a strong Faith that nothing evil through strange injuries can happen to you any longer. You must build this up within yourself and you will do greater things than ever. God bless and strengthen you, Dear Michael Essien.

Personally, I don't begrudge Essien with whatever decision he takes with regards to his football career. The man has paid his dues, and for some people (Ghanaians) to expect Essien to sacrifice his "life" for Ghana at all costs, is to say the least, disingenuous. The reference to his stint at Real Madrid, is so lame. After a point in time, every body has the freedom to choose what he/she wants to do with their lives. When Essien got injured playing for Ghana, where were all the people who are now calling him unpatriotic?? In my estimation, Essien has paid his dues for Ghana. If he has more to give his country, he will do so. In the meantime, let's leave him alone and applaud the sacrifices he has made for Ghana. Peace!

The general rule is that "only players playing regularly for their clubs are qualified to play for the BS."
IS LUIZ A REGULAR FOR CHELSEA? JULIO CEASR PLAYES FOR LOWLY QPR, BUT LOOK AT WAT HE DOES WITH BRASIL? ARGUABLY THE BEST GOALIE IN TH WORLD RIGHT NOW.... WE NEED ESSIEN N ABEYIE
Ken I concur with your wise advice to Essien. On the other note, we shouldn't force any or beg any disgruntle player to come and play for our beloved nation. Past players played with pride, passion and commitment with no stri ...

The guy has taken his decision not to play for BS again why bother there are young ones out there who are willing to die for our beloved nation lets look for them and leave Essien alone he has done his quota please.
I WILL TELL HIM GO TO BRISTOL CITY AND PLAY REGULARLY COS YOURE NOT A TOP PLAYER ANYMORE
Arsenal needs a good midfielder but Abramovich has refused to sell Essien to his neighboring club. A midfielder who plays like Essien is exactly a midfielder Arsenal needs. It will be a best solution for both Essien and the G ...

Abramovich refusing to sell Essien is the right move. You do not sell one of your best to neighbor team you would be meeting in league. Look at Arsenal selling Robin van Persie to Man U.
A popular, sinister, Bible cheater, one of the many latter day saints who take advantage of the gullible has applied the OB nonsense, the "Onyame B3y3" theory, and won Mike Essien over in a swoop in believing in God by throwi ...

Nice article....hope essien or one of his advisers at least reads it and reflects....
Leave Essien to do as he wish. The BS will continue to shine with the new and young players. He needs the BS more than the BS need him at the moment, but if he is waiting for GFA to beg him then he will wait for long.
you have hit the nail right on its head. Essien is wasting a lot of time. he should consider kaka's action about his national team. a word to the wise is enough
To me, we don't really need them from the way they behaved or have been behaving. Essien is refusing to return and Kevin played or always plays games with Ghana since coming to lime light in the game of soccer. I better forgi ...

KENNETH, THIS IS A GREAT PIECE OF ADVICE FOR ESSIEN. BUT THE QUESTION IS IF HE WILL TAKE IT AND USE IT TO HIS BENEFIT AND TO THE BENEFIT OF GHANA.
In fact, that is a very good advice I think Essien should listen to and do as such. Thank you bro
The Evil Men Do Leaves With Them.I Think Essien Should Forget The Bad Deeds Of The GFA And Fight For His Own Country.
Essien is good,Mother Ghana need's his service. Essien's enermies live him alone,if you know you don't like him.

Wel i think d same coz he stil has alot of strength and skills so he has 2 return and prove himself more worthy but also think he is still young therefore he has future 2 shine
