First, let me make it clear that I am very much disinterested in the fortunes of both the NDC and NPP and so really don't care about which of them rules Ghana. I can be in both camps if I so choose and I'd be most welcome by both but I am ardent Nkrumaist who does not believe in any form of political prostitution with any of those 2 parties.
Having said, I had already written a number of times that this election petition is frivolous and without merit. Had Dr Afari Gyan given them 2 extra days attention and shown them the originals of signed copies of the returns and clarified a few other things for them, instead of arrogantly telling them to go to court, we wouldn't have been at where we are presently! Sad indeed!
In view of the foregoing, I think a CI by Parliament which shall prohibit the declaration of results by the EC for a period not more than 5 working days should anyone raised any objections against the result. The EC shall be required to peruse the complaints and gave his verdict within that period. If the person is still not satisfied, then the person CAN GO TO COURT. This process is called ADMINISTRATIVE JUSTICE, which is very central to the countries of continental Europe, and is a far cheaper and faster way of resolving many kinds of disputes.
Having said that, let me address Kay who is rather seeing Margaret Jackson's article in tribal terms. Whoever she is, she has been posting similar articles on various regions. Now that she has posted on the VR, all of a sudden she is arguing on tribal line! How? Is the VR a tribe? Is the VR not having several linguistic groups, including Akans, Guans, Adangmes, Ewes, Konkombas, Chokosi, Likpe, Akpafu, Avatime, Santrokofi, the Zongo people speaking hausa and a dozen plus more???
In any case, when the NPP filed the petition, were the constituencies and their regions where they want the votes annulled also not mentioned? We really don't need these ignorant and unintelligent tribalistic comments purporting to be against tribalism from the VR! Pin-heads!
