Have you heard anywhere in the USA a situation where thugs intemedate people and prevent them from voting? My dear the ghana electoral syestem is only in theory but when it really comes down to it practically, it is the worse i have seen. If really we want to compare electoral systems then i beg of you not to compare with the USA or UK BUT TO DO SO WITH ZIMBABWE cos we are no where close to the US when it comes to practical elections.

Ghana's electoral system is one of the most transparent in the world with checks and balances throughout, making it very difficult to cheat. If any problems arise, it is due to the lack of vigilance of the polling agents.
Votes are counted in public. Polling agents are required to sign the pink sheets together with returning officers before results are declared. The question of unsigned sheets should not even arise - the polling agents should ensure that the sheets are duly signed.
There are party agents at every stage of the process right up to the strongroom at EC headquarters. They are in touch with the polling agents and party headquarters. They can cross-check via mobile phone any results. The party agents and EC officials endorse the results before passing them on to the EC and chair. The EC must approve the results and consult the parties before the Chair announces it to the nation.
At any stage of the process parties and their candidates and agents can appeal or lodge a complaint eg to ask for a recount. The EC officials deal with each complaint before continuing the process. This is why results are often delayed.
It is a moot point that NPP agents signed pink sheets without lodging any complaints about results.
