Maybe Desmond Tutu has more insight into how Christ treated other people... Love, compassion, respect for EVERYONE. Remember you are no better than the people you are condemning in this article either morally or spiritually. They are not sub-human. Unfortunately, politics applies to us as a whole so it has to be fair. Not that long ago, people believed blacks were inferior and best treated as slaves. They could not understand that blacks were human and had rights and dreams.

The cancer of their deviant lifestyle is so detestable to nature and yes, it is a lifestyle of choice. Your reference to Christ's actions of love, compassion and respect was extended to everyone and yet 'go and sin no more' was part and parcel of his admonition for a change in attitude and a turn around from every sinful lifestyle. The writer does not condemn homosexuals, he simply brings out facts about the immoral perversion but does not advocate for persecution of gays. He merely points out that one cannot be a christian and advocate or condone a lifestyle the Bible vehemently condemns. The Bible is clear about sodomy and so no sinful archbishop Desmond Tutu who prefers to go to hell than tell the truth or a deviant people-pleasing pope has the right to change the word of God. Paramount Television Group is currently producing a "Dr. Laura" television show. Recently she has become a convert to Judaism and has made some statements about homosexuals that have caused the Canadian anti-hate laws to censure her. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet....
Dear Dr. Laura,
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.
a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.
d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
g) Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?
i) I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them (Lev.24:10-16)? Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws (Lev. 20:14)?
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging. Your devoted disciple and adoring fan.

The issue here is being bold to declare what God has said about a specific issue in life and not trying to be "good" and "liked" by persons who have no place in their lives for the Almighty.

So long as a person has conscience they must be ready to accept responsibility for any single action they undertake; whether good or bad. It may not harm anyone but it's an affront to the Almighty God and undermines human dignity! Forget about what President Obama and Prime Minister Cameron and Archbishop Tutu are saying. I would forever listen to the voice of Almighty God than to listen to mortal humans who have no fear in their hearts for God!
Homosexuality is a blatant declaration of rebellion to the authority of God as is the case of any willful pursuit of indecent conduct or any vice like stealing, murder, corruption and laziness etc! You don't praise and encourage people who do such things but point the ills of them if perchance they will stop!
Homosexuality is an indicator of a larger problem; a vacuum somewhere; a desperation of emptiness in the very foundation of a person's dignity and life! But such void can't be filled with identifying yourself with like gender in sexual expression!
No wonder there's a feverish attempt to seek "acceptance" and "tolerance" through the mouthpiece of the rich and famous in society. Sadly that won't change it! God's perception will forever remain the same until He executes judgement on sons and daughters of disobedience and rebellion! Rejecting this fact can never change the truth of it!

So the issue has nothing to do with whether or not homosexuality is harmful to someone else. We all humans have set values we cherish and those we abhor. Besides, which human would be proud to display arrogance, rebuttal and disdain against any governing authority under their watch?
We did not make ourselves into humans; we were made. And make was by creation. And it would only be good for us to listen to the Creator not another creation what is right and wrong.
There's not a single tangible reason to live in homosexuality! Not a single one! It is simply the result of willfully living one's life without any recourse to dictates of the Almighty God. If you push God out of your life you create a large vacuum which cannot be filled except deception, all conduct contrary to the person of God! It's more than encroachment on one's culture! People who are incensed by any reference to God and what He stands would passionately dig and rush for any feeble rationalization of human right and tolerance.

To address your next point, if homosexuality is a choice, when did you choose to be heterosexual? And if you truly listen to God and the Bible, do you stone women who are not virginis on their wedding day, or punish those who have premarital sex? And to answer your question about the voice of God, many of my friends are gay and are some of the best Christians I know.
Of course I wouldn't encourage stealing, murder, corruption and laziness, because all of those things clearly harm an innocent person.
To your next point about a vacuum, or there being something missing in a gay person, I've heard the exact same thing being said by the religious right here in the US when protesting gay rights. The reason gay rights have come so far is because no one believes their lies anymore. People realize that some people happen to be gay, and that they're not harming anyone, so why should they be treated equally under the law.
If God's perception on homosexuality will never change, then why are you trying to judge them on earth?
No I would not praise a friend who sleeps with his daughter, because that can lead to severe mental and physical defects in their children.
Maybe there's not a single tangible reason to live in homosexuality for you, but for gay people I'm sure it feels quite natural.

Our religion is hypocritical because instead of making us loving, honest and generous individuals, it has turned us into crass puritans who daily measure the sins of others in order to feel righteous. It is an act of moral grand-standing to finger-point what one personally views as the sins of others; it surely leads to glossing over one's own sins in order for one to have a false sense of one's own righteousness. That is what Pharisees do best. The truly good individual is the one who constantly searches himself or herself for traces of flaws, not the one pointing fingers at others for excuses to hate. Right does not mean righteous. To be righteous, one has to have the compassion and wisdom to grant each person his right to live, to laugh and to love. One has to look beyond the daily prescriptions of those who will kill for God, those who will hound the unholy other, or those the sum of whose religion consists in the magnification of another person’s sins.
In the matter of gays and lesbians, Ghanaians, who are rarely united over anything, are now united in their mass hysteria because the gay issue gives them the fodder for uninhibited hatred. The typical Ghanaian bigot appears to have a certain orgasm titillated by raw hatred for the “evil” other. He begins as a hater for someone else not of his ethnic group, then finds a comfort zone against someone else not of his nationality, then graduates to hate someone else not of his color, and finally ends up hating someone else not of his sexual orientation. Thus a single book has effectively circumscribed our thinking ability. Meanwhile most people don't have a clue about what is in the Bible, being incapable of reading the whole book.
I read the whole Bible at age seventeen, and I can tell you that it is a mere anthology of world fiction to be used for lessons either for good or for bad. Whatever you want to do, you will find support for it in the Bible. That is what makes it a unique book. It is no word of God. If it were, then God should be quite naive and illiterate and does not deserve any respect. The Bible is a construct of the human mind, put together by some of the cardinal rogues in all human history for the single purpose of subjugating the minds of the masses.
Unless we liberate ourselves from its preliterate notions, we don't have a chance to think beyond two thousand years ago.
