You asked the right question. An article about this horror was delivered to Peace FM's Kwame Sefa Kai, and later to Kweku Baako for a public discussion that could enlighten our government, parliamentarians, our farmers and the general public. I don't know if such a media dialogue has taken place yet. If not, the media owes it to Ghana and Africa to publicize ALL THE PROS AND CONS OF GMO in our food chain. Unfortunately, Late President Mills, Kwesi Awhoi, (then minister of agriculture), Dr. Alhassan, and some Parliamentarians may have been compromised with Obama's $75 mil. from the GMO companies during the G20 meeting in the US. A PUBLIC MEDIA DEBATE IS NECESSARY. FAILURE OF OUR RADIO TALK SHOWS TO DEBATE THIS DANGER MAY SPELL OUR DOOM.

God God grant us your wisdom to to be sensitive to the plight of the farmer who feeds us. If we adopt GMO don't blame the farmer for EXHORBITANT food prices in future.

I wish our people will turn their minds to articles such as yours.
In fact, I have observed the problem with Ghana is lack of proper food management. What to grow each year and what not to.
Our arable lands are mainly used for cash crops and if the world wants to over population and over eat, that should be our secondary issue.
Thirdly, most of our harvest stay and rot on the farms anyway because of lack of transport, so where lies the argument of low harvest.
We are good at super imposing the problems, and aspirations of the West on our beautiful country. I pray for a mental freedom of our leaders from this slumber.
Once again congrats and good work.

Please stay away from GMOs even if they were offered 'free'. GMOs are silent killers.
