This misinformed author is mixing "budget" and " economy" to be one and the same when it is not.To illustrate my point our economy is still among the fastest growing in the world so how could it be in red? Our budget,on the other hand,is in deficit (spending more than we take in)which means we are in red.But being in red budgetwise is not neccesarily bad as more money is pumped into the economy thereby growing the pie even more and bring more tax income over time.More money eventually covers your deficits. This is actually standard practice all over the world

Ghana is in need of standing best practices and procedures and not meaningless classroom degrees. To occupy any of Ghana's civil service top positions, potential applicants/government appointees must have one and only one requisite character trait of love of or for country. Ghana is a beggar nation destroyed not because of lack of people with meaningless classroom degrees but precisely because we have an affinity to attract thieves and morally bankrupt people with classroom credentials to manage civil service departments.
No one in the NPP and or NDC can tell me or anyone in Ghana that there has ever been a period in Ghana where the nation was run/managed by a group of Ghanaians without those wonderful university degrees from universities across the globe. Each government since 1966 has had its share of people with degrees up to the ying-yang but they turn out to be thieves, intellectually dishonest and morally bankrupt. These people have not spent time in jail for their thievery and dysfunctional immoral activities because the nation has repeatedly failed to write up best practices and procedures that should govern each and every institution in Ghana including Parliament, the Judiciary and office of the presidency.
Relying on Ghanaians in the Diaspora with so-called college degrees has not and will not help either. Most of these people in the Diaspora have issues with loyalty. And as the Christian Bible tells us, a man cannot serve two masters. People with dual citizenship are incapable of honesty and or loyalty. For as long as they can steal and rob Ghana blind in their capacity as managers of some of Ghana's civil services, they will stay in Ghana but will leave the minute things go bad in Ghana and require all hands on deck to help solve Ghana's problem; they will run to their second country of nationality. Ghana needs men and women with love of or for Ghana and requisite ideas and ideals for the development of a nation. We have had our share of thieves and vandals already.
