Since before independence we have been plagued by all sorts of ruthless , vicious and willfully authoritative govts that all have one thing in common , denying the right of free speech and proper analysis of the motives and agendas they seek to keep hidden . Most of these govts were led by people who didnt belong to the majority but rather minority tribes and very marginal political clans . starting with nkrumah who is praised to high heaven but this same oligarchy , he st in motion a climate of fierce political antagonism whereby moderate minds of a liberal persuasion had no business in participating as only the radicals could stand the heat .The MOTIVE , be able to spend without consensus or agreement the wealth of the nation ie in today's jargon chop Ghana money some . This style and system of government was perfected by kwasea rawlings and today we have pepeni whose agenda is finalse the colonization of the majority , the Akans with the assistance of the homicidal ayigbe and the idiot pepefuo . they now use the institution called the supreme court to gag all free thinking individuals so the climate is set to enslave and now steal the oil and gas. they tell us nkrumah was so good so i say to them we hope ghana breaks up and their first presidents are just like him. when we secede we give them all the gold reserves in Switzerland and pay them another 20 billion on top so these ewes and pepefuo are rich and let their nkrumah come and spend that money in 2 years and leave them in debt for 2000 years , that is our revenge . hopefully their first nkrumah presidents are just as manipulative and propagandists so a greater part of that money is used to secure the unity of the universe as thats a very good thing not only african or nigger unity . the rest of the money we graciously leave them should be used in establishing useless unsustainable businesses that only feed other economies and drain their own . yes we wish them well as they have to us for over 60 years . we in the meantime Akans will build a nation truly worthy of our capabilities and potentials with a minimum wage of not less than 10,000 dollars so our beers in our bars are at least 100 dollars so these pepefuo and ayigbe idiots can not afford to visit us just like the Japanese do to their ndc idols the Chinese , long live the republic of Akan

One wonders, why has it been the same crude and primitive violent methods employed by you the DANQUAH-BUSIA to achieve your political goals. Is it in your genes, by way of chromosomes, or acquired by inheritance. The modern day NPP an offshoot of the UGCC / NLM /DANQUAH-BUSIA, cannot expunge yourselves from Violence , as a means of having your political voices heard, or achieving your selfish political goals. The NPP has chosen the uncivilised, primitive and historical violent means as your tools of politicking, the national consequences of it you don't care, as long as it satisfies your personal and political whims and caprice. The world is changing and you must change from your primitive way of thinking OK?

These folks cannot be LIBERAL DEMOCRATS.They're fake and one-dimensional absolutists - and cannot be compared to the real ones who fight for free speech and freedom of the press. The true ones have respect for the Court, even if they disagree with its rulings. And they don't verbally attack the Justices - after they've been warned repeatedly.
Yes,the Justices are not little gods and folks have the right to criticize their rulings. But they have no right to undermine the integrity of the Court,by insulting the Justices they don't like. They should listen to their own WISE MEN and the Ghana Bar Association.
Free Speech and Free Press must not be misconstrued as ABSOLUTE,not even in the U.S.Those living there should note that what Kuranchie and others said will not be tolerated by the Justices of the US Court,as well as the public at large.

The agent of a beautiful actress discovered one day that the actress had been selling her body for 100 dollars a night. The agent, who had long lusted after her, hadn't dreamed that she had been so easily obtainable. He approached her, told her how much she turned him on,and how much he wanted to fuck her so badly.
She agreed to spend the night with him but said that he would have to pay her the same 100 dollars that the other customers did.
He scratched his head, considered it, and then asked, "Don't I even get my agent's 10% as a deduction?"
"No, siree," she said. "If you want it, you're going to have to pay full price for it just like the other Johns."
The agent didn't like that at all, but he agreed.
That night, she came to his apartment after her performance at a local nightclub. The agent did her at midnight, after turning out all the lights.
At 1 a.m., she was awakened again. And again, she was vigorously fucked.
In a little while, she was awakened again, and again she was made love to again. The actress was impressed with her lover's vitality.
"My goodness," she whispered in the dark, "you are so virile. I never realized how lucky I was to have you for my agent."
"I'm not your agent, lady," a strange voice answered. "He's at the door selling tickets."

Your article is just full of high-sounding words and phraseology; and regurgitation of what we know already and a castigation of a whole group of people. It has virtually no or little substance. It adds no value to the intellectual discourse of a very important judicial and political issue.
By the way, I'm hoping the SC finds you contempt (if they are not being selective) for prejudging the case your words "before for Supreme Court seals their sad fate."

Seems to us the worst sign of "political immaturity" is thinking you know how to navigate in front of an intemperate gang of judges more concerned about their feelings than actually doing objectively and dispassionately what they are paid to do.
We'd have expected better from folks with Ph.D., that they'd be more reflective, independent, and critical of power and authority. Much of this essay is rabble-rouser-bullhorn.

Dr. Lungu, I respectfully disagree with you on this. I do not think the SC members are more concerned with their personal standing in Public regard than the ultimate effect of the case before them to the Nation.
Surely, the members may be wary of their individual reputation and may be protective of their egos. But the special responsibility we have thrust on them requires that both their personalities and the Court's integrity are seen as inseparable.
When we lose respect for any of them, we can barely trust the verdict they give in cases, however strong the consensus of their members was.
We cannot fool ourselves in denying that the main reason why many of us have been peeling off layers of respect off some of the Court members is so the Public would believe that those Judges are partial from the very beginning and any verdict that would finally be given to those people's discontent, would mirror an intentional effort by those Judges to obscure the truth.
So, what would you prescribe that the Judges do to repel contemptible behavior from any part of the Public? The issue before them should not be taken too lightly. It is the kind that potentially threatens our young democracy. And we should let the rule of law direct us rather than some maniacal outburst of violence.

What else could the SC do to restore not only its own integrity but also the impartial environment in which to finally declare its verdict that many in the Public have tried to predetermine as susceptible to the manipulations by either the NPP or the NDC? If the verdict is given in a precarious setting, that is when we would be faced with a high potential for violence by those who disagree. The action of the SC is to diffuse any such potential. And we have to give it some credit for doing so. Yes, we should cherish our freedoms. But in the glaring instance of high potential for massive public violence, the SC shares the responsibility to act, within the Constitution, to avoid a catastrophe, even if its action is a little harsher than we are accustomed to.
As much as we all love to enjoy Freedom of Speech, we must be pragmatic enough to recognize the TRUTH that there should be REASONABLE limits to that freedom; limits that must be dictated by the particular issue on our table.
And if such limits are, by legal consensus, necessary, then what other body than the SC could guide us decide what they are? I know how many of us may be tempted to yell "Why not the Parliament?" because it is the ultimate Institution our Constitution mandates to legislate for us.
Surely, the larger responsibility to enact our Laws resides with the Parliament. But in the execution of those Laws, it is the SC that interprets how best the laws ought to be applied.
Meanwhile, we have, by the same Constitution, empowered the SC to adjudicate on various matters of National import. And if we begin to undermine its authority and lampoon its efforts outside the legal arena for parochial interests, we would only be cutting a big hole in the very sieve that we have put in place to filter cases to catch the truth.
We cannot allow the SC to be ridiculed without proper legal arguments to challenge its ruling. We cannot allow the SC to be made the laughing stock of some innocuous legal minds. If any Lawyer out there thinks he or she knows better, and could have done better, let that person take the necessary legal path to prove his or her point, instead of caricaturing the members of the SC to prime the Public for rejecting its ruling, whatever it might be.
I honestly disapprove of Dr. Bokor's usage of the "liberal democrats" terminology to describe those he identifies as opposing the Court's action on the Journalists charged with contempt of the Court.
If any group of people could be so described, I seriously wonder it could be any of those folks he pointed to among the NPP. The NPP is the most conservative Party in Ghana, and it is very paradoxical to expect it to exhibit any tenets of "liberal democracy". It is hard to find anyone in that Party who fits the mold of the Libertarians in the USA, for example.
What we are experiencing with the SC contempt case is simply the discontent of certain few individuals who think one of their Party's principal mouthpieces is being compelled to zip up. The NPP, as a Party, has not condemned the punishment of Kuranchie. In fact, it is on record that the Party's own lead Counsel in the Election petition case joined the NDC Attorneys to hold brief for the SC.
So, I wish Dr. Bokor would not so tightly wrap the act of those expressing discontent with the SC decision on Kuranchie around the whole NPP.
The other thing I would like us to ponder on is whether the vocal opponents of the SC action regarding the contempt case would have been that critical of the Court, had the decision been only against NDC activists?
Then, and only then, could we suggest with any reasonable probability that those critics are ideological "liberal democrats".
I recognize Dr. Bokor's encapsulation of the term "liberal democrats" in quotations, which could mean he only used the term loosely or sarcastically. But I would like us to get things straightened up in our characterizations.
Long Live Ghana!!!
