I haven't read Joseph Ziem's article, so I won't comment on your entire rejoinder. However, your statement below caught my attention. I didn't know that any such restriction on women exists in modern day Ghana.
"About women renting apartments; our culture as Dagombas frown against that, even single ladies or unmarried women are not allowed to rent rooms or apartments unless of course you are a student from outside Tamale."
You've indicated that "women students from outside Tamale are allowed to rent apartments." I assume that nos-student single women who are from outside Tamale are also allowed to rent apartments. Or are they too not allowed?
Do you think that, it is right to prevent single or unmarried women from renting apartments, in this modern era?
Don't you think that such a culture practice should be changed?
There may be professional women or other women who may want to leave the family home to live elsewhere in Tamale, to pursue their professional careers, before getting married. There would be other women who just don't want to marry at all. Isn't it their human right to live wherever they want to?

And yet when these young women get the rooms you have the so called 'indigene' landlords whose culture abhor single women renting rooms chasing after as girl friends; culture indeed!!

The Bible and Quran all agree that we should not let young people (boys or girls) misbehave before marriage. The people of Tamale will protect and preserve God's rule.
