Fortunately, the Black Stars always bring us together. The president acted on this window of opportunity.
At the end of the day, all we care about is winning. The character of individuals is not that important to us, as long as we are winning.
Remember: the tournament we are preparing for is the World Cup.
We need every player of Ghanaian heritage to help showcase our beloved country to the world.
We are not going to the World Cup tournament just to show up. Instead, we are going to the World Cup in Brazil to win it all.
The onus is on the president to make this a reality. It is a tall order. But we did not tell him his job is an easy one. And we did not elect him for just the routine assignments.

In football or any team event, it is always a wise thing to assemble your strongest team because the only only thing that settles everything is victory. That is why the players in camp will always rejoice when someone obviously an excellent player joins them. The only thing that keeps morale in camp high is victory and not some so called sense of justice or moral.
All that it takes to make Akwasi Appiah a good man for us Ghanaians is victory upon victory upon victory by the Black Stars. Nothing else matters. That is why the coach himself will readily welcome KP Boateng or Dede or Essien irrespective of everything that has happened.
In short, football is not a saintly game for us to apply saintly rules. No matter how bad you think a star player has behaved by boycotting the team even if it takes the President to bring him back, it is good. This will never hurt any of those already in camp because all of them want victory. If the writer thinks the President has not done the same for say Essien, it is now common knowledge that Essien is coming on his own so what is the point. After all the President is the overall boss of every endeavour in the country he has the right to facilitate every public affair.

The Togolese president is not at all popular, and yet when he felt Adebayor was needed in the national team, he moved heaven and earth to bring him back to the fold, at a time when Ade had decided to quit. Whether Prez Mahama stays on in office or not, after the Court hearing, is immaterial. For now, he's president and he feels his intervention in bringing our "key" players back is critical, and that's just what he did. The approach might be wrong and we can criticize him for that. It's not because he's NDC that his approach is devilish. I believe certain issues should go beyond politics, fellow Ghanaians!!!
