He was young and could have done things differently. He was a soldier, and soldiers are not normally trained to be presidents/head of states. On top of that people around him were feeding him wrongly. Yes, he grew up at South Labadi Estates. I know the stables very well because I visited there so many times. That does not define what JJ is. He is highly intelligent and I hope he can behave and transform himself as a respected elder statesman. Going forward, please let's all forgive and pray for JJ. He has good intentions about the country. I hope he can play his part and take Ghana to the highest level economically. Everybody should try and put away the "fighting and hurting" words. It's all about GHANA'S future. This is my own opinion.

Everybody like this man {excluding me} to the extent that some are prepared to sacrifice their lives for him. JJ, as he is affectionately call, is loved due to his light skin color. Some see him as a white man and his fluency with the queens language, was a mouth-watering recipe that cannot be resisted.
Now, was Rawlings a good leader? Probably yes but to me, the answer is no.
Anytime a soldier takes up the gun and remove any government from power, the blame should not go to the soldier but to the CIVILIANS who will troop to follow him. WHY? These civilians are nothing more than "hungry hyenas" looking for an easy kill to shred its flesh into pieces. They are the ones who dictates whatever good or bad policy to the coup leader. Imagine people like Kofi Awoonor etc, following someone like Rawlings; his hatred towards anything "Akan" will force him to come out with anything that will make him an Angel to JJ and what did we see? He forced JJ to label any rich Akan, man/woman or perceive them as corrupt and whatever they have acquired, should be destroyed or confiscated.
JJ was not a miserable loner in the sense that he still have massive support in Ghana despite leaving the presidency some years ago. His followers are the ones to be blamed for the unrelenting insults on the nation. JJ, looking over his shoulders, is confident that any sign or whatever, from him, will be disaster for the nation as whole. This man with his uncouth hordes of rat-like humans, can destroy Ghana in an instant and that is why he sees himself as untouchable.
The man is not a loner. During his tumulus years on the throne, he did not achieve anything that can be seen as his legacy but all those in his inner circle, became filthy rich. Look at people like PV Obeng, Totobi Kwarkye, ET Mensah who is still in active politics, John Ndebugri, Kofi Awoonor who now chairs the Council of State, are all rich.
JJ, is the originator of the current rogue wave trying to capsize our ship on high sea. Why? We should remember that he ruled more than any leader in our history and due to the stinking nature of his economic policy, nothing was achieved.
Folks, remember this man Kwesi Botchway! When Busia was the Prime Minister, he was at Lagon or whatever that he was at Busia's throat criticizing his economic policy. When he was given the nod to be finance Minister, what did we see? Their structural adjustment program, doomed the nation and its repercussion is visible as we speak.
