In Lagos we were part Of the Oyo empire before it splitted. I was once watching 'a Yoruba movie' when one of the Characters, a woman shouted at another 'Agye meaning witch' which is the same we say in Ewe. My spelling of it might not correct though but sounds the same.
"In Lagos we were part Of the Oyo empire before it [splitted]."
'AWURADE NYAME, 'SPLITTED'?

There may well be factions and indeed there are factions in every political party. But that does not negate the fact that the current leadership of the NPP has hijacked the cockpit of this party and is embarked on a suicidal flight. Someone needs to speak up.

In fact, I found it very hard to believe that this letter was written by no less a person than the aforementioned. In this modern time, who spends his or her time reading articles flawed with so many spelling mistakes? If he has no spelling checker on his PC, can't he hire a personal assistant to do his letters for him, since he seems to have developed a penchant for sending letters to the media each time he has a problem with somebody. If these people still think they are the future of Ghana, what do we expect? Old folks with nothing much to offer in modern politics and governance, yet been made to feel that they are the future leaders of this great nation endowed with learned and patriotic citizens. Frankly, I don't know what your NPP friends have on their minds with this so-called suspension. There are procedures that need to be followed based on the Party's constitution before a member is kicked out of the party. Those procedures were not followed as you complained. How could they say you are not a Party member and then turn around and say you are suspended ? Delusional bunch.

We must all remember that the dominant tenure surrounding the Electoral Petition to the S.C. has been emotional and not pensive enough among the leadership of the NPP.
While the very 3 petitioners could have adequately thought through the relevant issues and may be approaching the case strategically, it seems that the rest of the leadership concern themselves with supplying some constant stream of emotional charge to keep the larger supporting base interested in the case. In the course of doing so, we see many among the leadership erring in their utterances in substance, in decorum and even employment of the rule of law. The Party's and the Nation's Constitutions must not be suppressed with emotions.
Much of that is causing the Party to look more and more intolerant, and giving its opponents a field day of claiming the errant form of the NPP now has always been its hidden nature.
It hurts to see Dr. Busia's Party so deeply buried under the suspicion of being led by folks who have no tolerance of dissenting views.
Having said that there must be a sensible line to delineate where individualism or teamwork needs to supersede. When a consensus is formed after a bout of contesting ideas, it is crucial for members to fall in line. The Party's rules must specify those terms.
This situation with Tarzan could often arise when the leadership ignored the initial input of various factions and just went ahead at the behest of a few. Even if the ultimate goal is indisputably the wish of all, the denial of others' input on modalities could mar the starting consensus.
So, all of us must learn from the unfolding saga, and not make the situation any more evident of our lack of will to uphold grassroot democracy.
NPP must be less vitriolic on its dissenting members, even if it still wants to keep its way of handling the petition unchanged.
Long live Ghana!!!

Wreko Brobbey, butterball, has no class. I say this because a well groomed person knows when and how to channel a grievance in a system. A person with class does not shout in public simply because he has a disagreement within the family. A graceful person seeks out an elder in the family or community and lodge a compaint to have the issue adjudicated. This is what is done if the complainant wants to continue to be part of the family. Wreko Brobbey's recent utterances concerning the election petition demonstrate that he doesn't give a damn about the NPP and should be kicked out. In my humble opinion, this should have been done when he left and formed his own party in 2000.
He is a time bomb and Kuffour erred when he gave him those two appointments. He is uncouth, unkempt and an ungrateful glutinous fat pig. He should be let go.

The deacon suggested that the man go pray some more and possibly he might get a different answer. The next Sunday the man returned. The deacon asked, "Did you get a different answer?"
The man replied, "Yes I did. I told the Lord that they don't want me in that church and the Lord said, 'Don't worry about it son; I've been trying to get into that church for years and haven't made it yet."
