I live in a country where a child would take a parent to court if that child felt cheated.Yes,I do value frienships but if you were me who had lived overseas for over 10 years and having entrusted your friends and family with you HARD-EARNED DOLLARS only to come to Ghana to find out that your money is waisted, I think you would seek redress. I must admit that this writer has proficiency in writing. That is a good skill to have. My only problem how she dances around facts and chooses to focus on a rather partisan approach. Of a partisan approach I must admit that I am equally guilty but I thoink that this SC case is more about Ghana's political future than just the desire to see a political party win at all costs. A system has been agreed upon and ratified by law and has been abused. The ones guilty of this abuse have come to court to justify the abuse. Evidence, incontrovertible as it is proves that there was massive rigging and yet this writer is always evading the main issues and diverting attention to non-issues. This is my problem with her writing.
Facts are facts and must be respected issrespective of one's political colouring. See this is what you learn staying outside Ghana for over 10 years. You see people in opposing parties agree with each other on matters of principle where the national interest is given preference over partisan consideration. This is why Margaret must learn to objectively analyse the SC case. Else her slant as NDC sympathiser just compromises her journalistic prowess.

He has tried to use the mare size of the people that were to be trained and the time was short to get the proper training. If he was smart enough, he could have started earlier and asked for more fund to get everybody trained. But as is always done in Ghana, they look at the mare size of the problem and do it as there is no brain in their heads. Then turnaround and say do not blame me, because the problem was huge and there was not enough time and money to do a good job. What a shame.

You assumption is that the past has a linear relationship to present, hence looking at Afari-Djan's past his level of integrity based on his past behaviour is the same as today which is not tru based on the past.
During his school days at Legon he had nothing to prove except his integrity and determination to complete his studies successfully.
At stake as the Electoral Commissioner, there are so many things he has to prove - integrity, competence, administrative efficiency, proactiveness, ability to identify and solve problems, unbiasedness, etc. The outcome of the election results showed Afari-Dajan failed on all these measures.
The issue of friendship is not fathered in here. I wonder how long you lived and worked overseas where objectivity is paramount in performance appraisals. During performance appraisal your boss who may be your best friend must eschew friendship and tell you where you are underperforming. Does this end friendship?
It is time we Ghanaians should leran to hold two (2) opposing views at the same time and try to live with it as reality without any grievance.
