1-Just think about it carefully. The pastors collect money from their members as soon as they get their pay checks in the same way the Pimps collect the money from the Prostitutes as soon as they get paid.
2-If you refuse to pay your tithes and don't give to the pastors often, you are counted as a rebellious and you are sometimes not attended to. When a prostitute decides not to give her money to the Pimp, she is sometimes beaten and left homeless until she starts to give her money back to the Pimp.
3-Because of lack of trust, prostitutes jump from one pimp to another in search of security and hope and yet can't them. The Parishioners (members) hop from one church to another in search of miracles that elude them.
4- This is funny, but very sad; have you seen how the Pimps are dressed up and driving fancy cars around while their prostitutes nakedness can be seen every where by everyone? Likewise the Pastors are dressed up in three piece suits with chains and shinning shoes plus expensive cars and some with planes, while their parishioners (members) are broke, have nothing, marriages are broken and struggling to make ends meet and yet have to be at church 7 days a week.
5- And don't forget that most prostitutes become addicts and can't give up their trade, they always hope that one day they will strike it big and stop that trade, so are many parishioners (church-goers) who can't stop giving their moneys to pastors or stop worship because it is their beliefs and faith - they hope that one day they will be rewarded in heaven.

Anyone who claims to be a prophet is actually the devil not a prophet. Let that person go and first identify himself and see what the person comes from or is made of. He could be a fallen angel who has come to this world and knowing who he or she is can use what possesses him/her.
Don't be fooled guys. Read the bible well and get some understanding knowing well that there was the spirit world before God made Adam only. God did not make us but we are only descendants of Adam. Dear Benedicta, this issue has been of a concern to me for a long time. I've brought it up to some radio stations in the UK to slot it in their segment. Promises, promises but no action. This is where the Christian Council and other christian bodies in Ghana should address, but unfornately some of them are in the league. The orthodox churches are gradually but steadily degenerating into the sordid deals of these MEN & WOMEN OF GOD. Stationings are determined by who offers the highest bid. Overseas postings these days are based on contractual agreement - how much the clergy would remit monthly or quarterly to the top shots. And we are all witnesses in the diaspora - UK, USA, CANADA, EUROPE. It simply SICKENING. 'Serving the Lord in spirit and in truth', has turn into Serving the Lord in spirit and in THROAT. Jesus prophesied that in these latter days there will be many false prophets who will deceive many people and it is happening before our eyes. But why would you allow yourself to be deceived unless you don't take heed ? Even if you have no discernment, and even if you don't know the Bible, can't you see things for yourself ? My dear friends, anyone who will discipline him/herself to follow the teachings of Christ Jesus ie with unflinching Love for God and mankind will eventually experience spirituality and your needs will be met beyond the physical realm. It takes a lot of discipline and dedication coupled with prayers and fastings to reach this goal. And as to who really is a Prophet of God, it is left to the discretion of the individual.
It is also true that there is the temptation on the part of us to look up the men/women of God being used to effect blessings in our lifes, instead of realizing that it is Christ who is doing all things.
It is the responsibility of the servants of God to continuously remind people that it is the Lord who is doing all things, and that they are servants or instruments being used of him.
When servants of God receive credit for what God has done, the Grace of God diminishes in them.
Equally when people offer things to the public in the name of money, the grace and power of God diminishes in them, and everything that they do.
It is improper to pay for consultation fee, under any circumstance, and it is questionable to offer services for a fee. It is a different thing, though, when the individual, freely, offers to the Ministry. We have to understand, as a believers we are to offer to the things of God, willingly and freely.
Money collected in the name of consultation fee is questionable.
Freely we have all received, freely we are to give.
We have to also be aware that people may sell things(blessed by the man/woman of God) when, infact, that may not be a directive from the servant of God.
In the light of all these, we have to be very discerning and always ask the Lord concerning all things before passing comments, because the enemy is at work.
We are to fear God, and serve HIM with reverence.
Our services to HIM must be acceptable,

If you are a Reverend Minister, I want to congratulate you on services to the Lord.
I will, however, encourage you to interested in the things of the spirit; I mean supernatural things. Nothing of the flesh can be pleasing to the Lord, for God is a Spirit. And they that Worship him must do so, in spirit and in Truth.
No matter, your denominational upbringing, I encourage you to make up time to fellowship with believers in typical Evangelical and Pentecostal setting, Yes, it is proper that we allow the Holy Spirit to have his own way on special occasions devoted for Prayers, and Worship;
Healing/deliverance services should be organized after some days of fasting and prayers(Yes, this kind cannot be done away with without fasting and prayers). "We do not receive, because we do not ask", says the Lord.
When you are caught up in the traditions of your Church, where you do almost the same thing all the time, according to the usual kind of program/time table, the Holy Spirit is restricted, and his ability to direct us and usher us into the presence of God is inhibited!
When other Churches have, disciplined themselves in fasting and prayers, seeking the face of God, and the convicting power of the Holy Spirit has convicted many unto repentance, things do happen!
It requires a matured understanding of the things of the spirit to acknowledge what the Lord is doing under such circumstances and to appreciate HIS goodness.
I encourage you to take time and examine yourself in the Lord, be sober. Aspire to be Holy and sanctify yourself through a prayerful commitment to the study of the WORD of God.

In the so called charismatic churches, appeal for funds is run everyday, starting from a very high amount. I was in a church in the USA one day when a Ghanaian pastor decided to raise funds for buying new chairs for the Church. They started from $2000 and all the leaders of the Church who, doubled as businessmen, pledged. When it got to $200, the pastor started calling members to come forward and pledge.One chair was selling for $50, and when a lady pledged $20, the pastor said,"Is that all you can give, you sit on one chair costing $50 and you pledge for less than half of the cost of the chair.?" Another guy pledged $100 and the Pastor said "Is that all, you work two jobs." That was my last day at that Church. These pastors know very well that people are desperate with poverty and desire to be rich so they capitalize on people's vulnerability to dube them. Be careful. They can dube everyone, but for me No!. I am a strong Chistian and a believer of the Bible. I am educated and can read and study the Bible, and interprete it. Everything is in the Bible; just study and go according to it and let those fake pastors go to hell. Fear your creator only, continue to read and excercise physically and you will be secure.

Some of these pastors are actually promoting idolatory, by encouraging the use of handkerchiefs and other objects that displace God in people's faith.
Every christian, true christian, has equal and free access to God. So, why do some people think they need a pastor so badly to intercede for them? It's because they are not living right. If you need somewhat to talk to even your earthly father on your behalf, then check your relationship with him: you are not living a life that pleases your father. Why should God reward anyone for his/her waywardness? God will gladly answer the sinners prayer of repentance. Beyond that, it is in His sovereign will. The prophet cannot guarantee anything.
I have much to write even about the so called prayers for visas, for smuggling cocaine, for claimimg someone's hard-earned car, etc. Check the source of power that grants all these.

Just as it's not everyone who calls himself a christian is a christian, it's not everyone who calls himself a prophet, apostle, etc is what he claims to be. As with the people, so with the priest.
A true christian will know his Bible, can identify a true man of God because the true man of God has certain characteristics and attributes. Jesus charged his followers :"Learn of me." Did Jesus take money from anyone after he had healed the sick,raised the dead, fed the hungry. He chose 12 apostles , ordained them to the priesthood. After that he sent them out and charged them to do what they had seen him do, ie. heal the sick and afflicted, feed the hungry, baptize those who believe the word in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
He also told them : "Freely ye have received, freely ye give".There were to be no exchange of money for services,miracles, rendered by the apostles.
Jesus came to save people from their sins, not in their sins. To get his blessings the person must have faith and repent of his sins.
God taught Adam and Eve the principle of work when He kicked them out of the Garden because of transgression saying to Adam : "By the sweat of thy brow shall thou eat bread." God expects all His children to work and eat from the sweat of their labors. There are no shortcuts. If you want to pass your exams you need to study.Even Paul the apostle worked by mending nets to pay for his passage as he travelled on his missionary journeys. God will bless the work of our hands.People are being fleeced of the little that they have because they want something for nothing. They want to have a university degree without studying and preparing for it. It doesn't work like that. The beautiful American cities were built through hardwork not by soliciting for miracles from fake preachers and pastors.
