Kwame,
I am sorry to say that GFA do not understand the attitude of our children born in "aburokyire".
Some of these our children who were born and lived outside Africa are mostly different in attitude than our children who lived in Ghana.
Understand that, we do not dictate and yell to our "aburokyire" children; we reason and talk with them.
I lived in Germany for 9 years and I can determine Kevin's attitude and style. To me, GFA officials do not know and understand how to talk and reason with him.
Let me remind you that, kids in Ghana always start a response with "me pa wo kyew," Our abroad children don't. My 17 year old sometimes addresses me as "hey Dad". Many Ghanaian fathers would be offended by that.
GFA should be educated on how to deal with "aburokyire" born children, otherwise they will find young men like Kevin and Ballotelli a handful to handle.

ALL THE SO CALLED FOOTBALL NATIONS ROTATES THEIR SUPERSTARS FROM TIME TO TIME. BUT, DON'T USE THEM IN EVERY SINGLE MATCH ALL THE TIME.
Looking at the Boateng's case with GFA critically, all that I can say is that Boateng was right. GFA can not be USING Ghana's TOP players in every single football match all the time.
GFA need to give the other up coming players chance also for them to develop well to catch up with the already Top players.
Any Country who over uses her Top players over and over in every single match runs out of gas and even end up in early injury problems.
Build up the younger ones too and give the Top one more time to rise up to be Legends.

i like kevin very much, and i have until recently being a adent advocate for his return. but lately i have had the dfunny feeling that kevin disingeniously has beenavoiding participating in AFCONS. he could have made it to angola 2010, but somehow he avoided it. now he has bided his time such that there will be no afcon before the next world cup before starting showing signs of possibilty of him joining the blackstars. so far as i am concern participating in a world cup qualifying match should not be be visa for entry into a possible world cup team. with his quality he could have projected ghana's profile for an award as an african footballer of the year which has eluded us for a very long time. he has ensured that that will never happened. if he makes it to the world cup again, which he is nursing, he will dump ghana again after the world cup and he will never make it to the next CHAN. so far as i am concerned it is all over for kevin to make it to a possible world cup team. if after the world cup and he is sure he wants to play for ghana, he should prove that by making it to the 2015 chan. we better concentrate on bringing essien to come and anchor the team to the world cup.

Listen carefully, the country decided in the first place to convince Boateng to switch his allegiance from Germany and instead play for Ghana. I am not sure what prompted his decision not to play again for Ghana may be that has to be looked into to begin with. Bafoe is the only person who switched to play for Ghana and continued to be faithful and sincere. I am not aware of any other may be I have forgotten others. Yes, I do remember another guy who played for the Blackstars during the time of Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah. I think he used to come from the Netherlands to play for the Black Stars. If this is the case where were convinced to switch but were not treated well, then I do not think the country has reputation when it comes to soccer players who switch and play for the country. You guys need to look into the matter carefully by looking at the many players who switched and played for the national team before Boateng did. May be Boateng has genuine reasons that require the nation`s attention. If it is only Boateng who chose not play for the country after the world cup then the authorities should seriously look into. Even if he is the only person it still requires the need to give him audience in order to know exactly his problems and find solutions to them. If it is found to be Boateng`s fault reprimand him then bring him in to the fold once again otherwise nobody would be encouraged to switch and play for the country. Take note, the way issues such as this is resolved would go a long way to encourage others to easily switch and play for the country. If on the other hand, you guys snob and say all kinds of stuff it puts others away from the idea of switching to play for the country. There may be many others who could switch but they look at how those who switched were treated and decide not to switch and play for the country.

'Anytime I think about Boateng’s case, I feel so much hurt by his grotesque display of ingratitude. Many countries would have said ‘To Hell’ to Boateng in the wake of his act of stabbing this country in the back. But Ghanaians, famed for our tolerance and forgiving nature, are ready to shut that painful chapter out of our hearts and take him back like the biblical prodigal son.'
It is interesting how you can declare him an ingrate without backing it with facts, and without so much as an offer of an analytical background to the events that led to his decision to quit the Black Stars.
Essien is no longer with the Stars and neither are the Ayew brothers, Kevin, and many others whose stories and reasons are not candidly articulated to the general public. I suppose you know the reasons why they are no longer with the party and if you do, you join the few individual 'judges and juries'whose views are fiat. But if you are not privy to their true motivations, then you are no different from the teeming numbers of our emotional compatriots who profess to know it all even as their utterances betray their ignorance.
Ghana has not done any more for Kevin Boateng than he has done for Ghana. He did change his nationality to benefit us and himself, and he delivered massively when he was called to duty. Something went wrong somewhere in between.
But How if I may ask, did he stab the country in the back as you suggest? By demanding that better conditions be offered for the services he is called upon to provide?
My friend, I do not know what kind of business you are in, and what your experiences are in management and human behavior/dynamics. Citing what 'many countries' would do in such cases, does not bring any legitimacy or relevance to your recommendations.
The tragedy in all this is that we continue as a nation, to be afflicted by solo-operators whose one-track minds permit them no peripheral vision, and whose emotional and violent tendencies preclude any consideration of the interconnectedness of things.
Some of us trained managers and life-long students of human behavior have other considerations when troops begin to grumble over their rations, and when the tried and true canteen, no longer evokes the anticipated sentiments fundamental to keeping soldiers on the march. Desertion is what follows and in an efficient and accountable army, the commanding officer would be removed before collective morale drops.
Corruption is ingrained in the vein of our leadership. From the foreman on the construction site through the public officials who would not do their jobs unless they are paid by the people they are being paid to service, to the 10 percenters among our ruling elite and other appointed leaders whose only motivation happens to be money regardless of how they make it,a lot of garbage is hammered down our collective throats.
So let us for once stop this nonsense about popular belief and precedents that other nations have set and focus on the behaviors of the 'lone wolves' whose 'abherrant' behaviors gather storm and trend into 'tsunamis'.
The GFA is bankrupt, but lucky enough to have talent at its disposal. It has failed miserably in its understanding and management of the people it has been tasked to handle in the name of the nation. It is not a private enterprise to be handled according to the whims of some fat cows who throw their weight about in practice. And when they fail, they come, like cowards, to apologise in manners often associated with exposed criminals, to a nation of pathetics, 'famed for our tolerance and forgiving nature' as you put it.
Until we get the full facts and until the GFA begins to see itself as answerable to the people if not to the government, and acts accordingly, any such writings as yours can only add to the reputation we are cementing across nations, as emotional people.

Madrid, Ghana beat both US and Czech on our maiden edition of the world cup. does that sound a bell? sometimes it's not about having bunch of self-imposed demigods and disgruntled footballers. it's about team work and determination. all those who voluntarily retired must be allowed to come voluntarily and must only be accepted based on merit. we cant continue to set such bad examples. to hell with them all!!!
