You, this too-known Kwaku Danso are too old to be taken seriously. Probably, you will do better at 67 years if you leave us alone in peace to celebrate our President. You are far older than him; but what have you done for Ghana to warrant your being respected and remembered?
You left Ghana in the 1960s for the US to educate yourself and settle in Livermore, California, having managed to build a house or two in East Legon, which you are selling because you feel you can't live in Ghana.
You are such a self-conceited bullfrog with a mature capacity for stupidity. Go 'way you!!

The problem is, nobody asks the hard questions, so the masses will continue to be fooled till they do something about it.

Familiarity they say breeds contempt and that is what I read here. Keep your foolish opinions about the president to yourself and stop wasting our time!

This is complete nonsense. First of all you draw a false conclusion. We are not supporting anyone blindly or supporting any party.
I am merely stating the facts. As to the authenticity of the statement, what the bishop did was take something the president said completely out of context and to present it as if the president and his government have failed when they have yet some way to go. The president was merely trying to paint a picture of the state of our economy and to underscore the enormity of the task facing us, and I am sure if you followed the whole speech you will find that he suggested ways in which we could get out of the situation and affirmed his determination to lead the country in that direction.
If the bishop is truly interested in contributing to the process, why dd he not quote the president's whole speech and offer his own take on where the problems lie and how to solve them? This bishop's speech was latched on by Ebo Quansah and Chronicle yesterday in order to advance a political point which he, the bishop was clearly trying to do.
Can't you see that it is not being done in good faith, and certainly not a sermon for the people but a political speech? You need to grow up and recognise that this political and partisan bullshit will not work and is not taking us anywhere.
I for one will not stand by for people to attempt to ridicule our leaders without proper cause and without offering any sensible alternative. One thing's for sure, Mahama is not unintelligent or a lame-duck! It is people like you who wish he and his government to fail so that you will rejoice but what good does that do anyone and the nation? You tell me.

Kwaku, You are right. Every society desreves the leaders it gets. Ghanaians through our institutions and individual mentalities, really deserve the wishy washy leaders we have been getting in the past 20 or so years, or probably since independence!
I called my folks back home before election 2012 and asked who they were going to vote for. One of my neices told me "Akufo-Addo is too short". I asked her if she had ever heard the man speak. She said no. I asked her what she would do if I told her that I knew him personally and that given the circumstances (Nduom belonged to the wrong party), Nana was the best of the lot. She said She would vote for the NPP Parliamentary candidate but not Nana. Meanwhile, this young lady's father is shorter than Nana Akufo-Addo!
I had similar experiences before previous elections. For instance, some people voted for the murderer Rawlings against Adu-Boahen because Rawlings was handsomer. What really gets my goat is that when they have voted for these non-achievers and things get rough at home, it is those of us who live outside that have to bear the brunt of their stupid choices. "Oh the money you send for grandma's upkeep is not enough, things are really hard... and so on."
That said, leadership is about delegation, the confidence to be able to appoint people that are better than oneself, sometimes. Ronald Reagan had no major administrative experience as a "B" level movie star, but he became governor of Califirnia, one of the most prosperous "countries" (that is what it really is) in the world. And he succeeded by appointing the best people. He did the same as President of the United States. Bill Clinton did the same, and Mr Kuffuor (apart from some really dumb decisons like Ananegate and his medals), succeeded by appointing some of the most capable people in the land.
I have met Nana Akufo-Addo on a personal level over years, under different circumstances, and I am certain that he has the personal confidence to appoint the best people to deliver Ghana from the rut of underdevelopment.
Finally, having gone through the NPP exhibits on the internet and casting my mind back to what I experienced working for a prominent Ghanaian institution in the 19080s and 90s, I am convinced that the people of Ghana did NOT vote for Jerry Rawlings in 1992 or 1996, nor did they vote for Atta-Mills in 2008 or Mahama in 2012.
That is why I still cry for my beloved country!

Thanks.
However, I am at a loss and want you to sahre wiht us why you think there was rigging in 1992, 1996 and 2012.
How did Kufuor get past that then in 2000 and 2004?
Just curious as to strategy at the time.
Thanks.

It is difficult to see where this writer is coming from.Perhaps a believer in the accident of birth or accident of opportunities theory. The political scientist say that it takes more than good intentions to make a good leader like it takes more than mere vision to make a good leader.Leaders by their nature are born with innate qualities which make them to stand out from the crowd and with a charisma which commands attention that make all want to work for him.Apart from Nkrumah we have not had any leader as charismatic with the vision that you are talking about. Some say such visionaries are rare and comes once in a life time.President Mahama is humble enough not to put himself in that category but when it comes to what we have at the moment Mahama is street above the rest Nana Addo included. It will be wrong to judge him now given his short time in office. All those oppose to President Mahama are ideologically opposed to his social justice policy and its test can only come with time.Give the president a chance to implement his agenda and judge him after his tenure.
