And as if this is not enough, we have certain infidels among us who want us to kill ourselves so they can lord over us at all cost. Never again.

Those years were the Rawlings chain years when Rawlings so-called revolution caused so much suffering that most Ghanaians looked so lean around their necks as if there were chains tied around them. That was when the term Rawlings chain was coined.
The worst part of those years was that Rawlings and his cronies either arrested, tortured or killed those who complained aloud about the suffering. May the good lord save Ghanaians from any such evil visiting the country again.

My mum gave money to a pastor to go and pay the electric bill he used the money to eat, who could blame him! So much to tell our kids, when they waste food! We will never forget. Yaw Manu I like your idea of a book on 1983,Ilook forward to reading it.

The Exodus of teachers to Agege. Cancellations of WAEC's O'lvel and A' levels exams. Oh gosh that was terrible, I was in form 4. All we went to dinning hall to eat were yellow corn, cocoyam and if we were lucy gari and beans. But we survived.

Very interesting story and I wish the young ones will research about that year. That was when dumsor started,no food,no rain and secondary school gave 3 to 4 weeks exeats to students because there is no food and no water to drink.I saw malnutrition that resulted in human beings bloated in medical term generalized edema as a result of malnutrition.l was living in Ankaful mental Hosp and chronic mental patients were dying because no food nor water.l remember eating rice pudding in am,boiled rice with 'kakoo' in lunch and rice water in evening for a month at school.95% of student at Augusco in cape developed skin rashes in their genital area as well as in between our fingers and toes.for about 2 weeks we haven't taken a shower because no water to drink let alone bath.l wish the young ones we are beating war drums should think twice about it because what famine did to Ghana during that period was terrible.God bless the writer for reminding us.
