It is simply jejune nonsense and pure hatred for Ewes to single them out this way and subject them to abuse, vilification and demonization of the worst kind!
What we Ewes hate is the ad nauseam attacks and insults on us from the supporters of Nana or the NPP. I am not even an NDC supporter, so I don't expect to be insulted for the actions of the NDC members. So many Ewes who come here to write against those who vilify and demonise them unjustly are not necessarily supporting Justice Kpegah, etc. I don't! And I don't care about that case, just as I don't really care about the ongoing election petition circus.

Can a people energetic as "Ewes," ready to travel to the remotest places in Ghana and of West Africa, from Senegal to the Congo, decades before fellow Ghanaians started venturing out, in order to seek greener pastures and bountiful fishing grounds be inward looking? A people known to scholars in migration studies as one of the few African ethnic groups who engage in what is called "settlement of colonisation", that's, migrants who never return home but form new communities in their host countries, be indeed inward-looking???
Those are just some of the qs seeking answers. You have to know who the "Gbe" people (linguists new names for Ewes )are in order to appreciate what make them to tick.

On the airwaves the NDC try to sound diplomatic about this issue but I don't fail to notice some trace of support for Kpegah in their submissions. I'm not saying the NDC should support Nana, but you will agree that they have deliberately done so much damage to Nana Addo's person which makes it difficult to dissociate them from this mischief.
I like to read your comments, Sir, and I know how passionate you become when Ewes are attacked on this forum. You may refute this but I think some Ewes pose as Akans to insult Ewes to start the tribal insults on this forum and vice versa. You see I've lived most of my life in Kumasi and I have never seen any friction between Ewes and Asantes, at least with regards to tribes. Physically, the Ewes I know never speak their mind or show their feelings openly. In school whiles we Asantes "bragged" or discussed Kotoko or politics my friends from Volta "looked and listened".
Another thing that intrigues me is why most Ewes buy everything Ewe or NDC even if the product is very bad. Ewes defend Ewes no matter who is wrong. I can cite many instances here but one that readily comes to mind is Woyome. I do not see Asantes or Akans put up very shallow defense when a person from their fold misconduct himself. Anyway we will not condemn you, neither will we defend you. I wasn't born during Achaempong's regime but I have been told that Kumasi opposed him.
I like to understand why people behave the way they do. From my experience (I have many Ewe friends) I have also observed that there are two "sets' of Ewes. I would like to explain my observations but I won't do that for now as I'm not sure you will reply. I hate to invite insults on myself or any tribe especially from persons who don't bother to read and understand before commenting.

Look at the posture of Volta Region chiefs about Woyome. They went to the Castle to warn Mills, then the president, to leave the guy alone because he is their son and imagine how some people will react if Asantehene did the same.
We are dealing with people who are just bitter about anything and only God knows why and what they are looking for.
How many Ewes hate to hear the name Victor Owusu just because of what he said. The fact is, how many Ewes have ever asked why Victor made that "inward looking" comment. Never. They only invoke how they detest Victor but the fact is, Victor will never wake up and being silly, will make any insulting remark about people who are part of Ghana. An astute politician like Victor is way above that fray. Somebody made a comment that pushed Victor Owusu to inexplicably, made that "inward looking comment" but Ewes will never bring that to the fore. That alone shows you the people we are dealing with. Pellicles, thanks very much for your response, but I must say that I'm not sure whether Ewes are bitter about anything. Maybe I should explain my "two sets" of Ewes. I realize that those that were born and bred in the Volta Region are very different from those that lived in Accra, Kumasi, Sunyani, Takoradi and other Akan dominated regions. I will use the schools I attended in Accra and Kintampo as study areas.
Ewe citizens that lived in the Akan Regions mingle easily and do not appear to harbour that feeling of mistrust for others. They speak their minds, discuss politics and sports openly. They insult, do not hesitate to express their love and show their feelings as most Akans do. In fact, you won't know they are Ewes unless they mentioned their names.
The second "set" on the other hand like to make friends only with their fellow Ewes and you will almost always see them together. They try to attach themselves to Ewe tutors/lecturers. You hardly hear them talk politics or sports. They don't show their emotions. They are always careful about people from other tribes. They make you feel you are on the opposite side. I do not seek to condemn anyone, just to express my candid views.
What I'm trying to say is that certain factors account for the racial and ethnic pride, hatred, mistrust and negative perception among tribes and I sincerely believe the characteristics of the location one is coming from is an important factor.
