So, the question one must now ask is, WHY ARE THE NKONYA'S AND ALAVANYOS STILL FIGHTING AND KILLING EACH OTHER?
Is there any "disputed land" as Ghanaians and the world are made to believe? I do not think so. There is no disputed land per se.
The senseless killings should therefore cease, so that the two neighboring ethnic communities can live in peace, and develop their respective areas and citizens. Human potential is just getting wasted through these constant brutalities killings and and the counter actions.

No one supports killing of innocent citizens, no matter which side is committing the murders.
However, one should never draw conclusion on a one-sided story. Is it not strange that, despite the "vividly" stated story above, the fighting is still going on up-till today? Doesn't this show us that there is something somewhere that is not included in the above story? This is the reason why one should never rush to judgment after hearing from one side in a dispute between two people. Also, if what is written above is true and factual, why is the negotiation still going on? Because the mediators do not recognize the flawed map drawn by Dr. Gruner (who is a foreigner)
Also, why hasn't the writer included the outcomes of two Supreme Court decisions on the disputed land? Is it because the Supreme Court discredited the Gruner drawn map and described it as an imaginary map that cannot be relied upon to demarcate the boundaries between traditional areas? How can a foreigner (a German) know traditional boundaries in Ghana better than the people who lived there all their lives from generation to generation?

The Judicial Process is what we have to follow here in order to help us make informed judgement and/or understand this very old but long-standing land case.
I am not a lawyer and neither do I hold a law degree. However, I can say that the Supreme Court does not judge cases. It would review a case and try to find if judges of the lower courts have "erred" in their determinations or verdicts.
If such is found, the case would then be sent back to the lower courts for redress, in this case the High or Appeals Court.
One question I would like to ask my brother "CHARLES A" is this; with regrads to this Supreme Court's decision you've referred to here (without quoting or referenced), and the FINAL High Court decision of Dec, 12, 1974; which preceeded the other? You may have to answer this question, and then judge for yourself as to whether Nkonya or the Alavanyo, is the RECALCITRANT party. Just judge for yoursel! Please do!

With such a clear-cut legal case in favor of Nkonya, why has the Alavanyo people ignored the high court's ruling with impunity? Why do the Alavanyo people continue to harass and murder Nkonya residents, claiming, falsely, land that does not belong to them?
One short answer is that many Alavanyo people have concluded that the state (specifically the government, army, police and other security forces) is extremely weak. The Alavanyo people have concluded, and correctly, that their actions will go unpunished. Likewise, the Nkonya people realize that only they alone can adequately defend their homeland. They cannot depend on the Ghana government to protect them. So, they retaliate and, sometimes take pre-emptive actions and carry the fight right to the Alavanyo people.
The only way this cycle of violence will stop is when the central government shows some strength and punishes those who commit heinous crimes and disregard what courts over 100 years have consistently and unambiguously ruled in favor of Nkonya.
This case is a textbook case of a very weak central government that is incapable of fighting even a local mob of ragtag criminals. A national army worth its name would have by now, through its intelligence unit, located the nest of criminals at Alavanyo, destroyed their network (if they have any)and brought the pepetrators to justice.
If I were an army or police commander in charge of operations in the Nkonya-Alavanyo dispute, I will infiltrate the Alavanyo community, locate the source of the problem, give a 48-hour ultimatum for the criminals and their supporters to lay down their arms. I would then set up an ambush and arrest all would-be perpetrators and bring them to justice, along with the Alavanyo chiefs and other supporters of these cowardly acts. In our budding democracy, the alleged criminals would then be tried for their crimes.
However, one can bet that the scenario that I just decribed won't happen, because Ghana does not have a strong, professional military and security forces that are capable of pulling off such an operation.
If, in fact they do, let them prove me wrong.

In Anlo land unlike the Ewhedome land we have these land disputes. Anlos do not lay claim to lands they do not buy from the original settlers, who are Guans and whose language is no more spoken in Anlo.
Thus Anlos lay claim to the land on which they farm and call it their farm, which they can not sell or give to another person who is not a relative. In some areas the Guans collect taxes on some cash crops that grow on farms.

The fact is Guans are historically the first known settlers of what we call Ghana today. That is the reasson why Guan speakers arre found in almost all the ten regions of Ghana. All other tribes met Guans upon arrival in their present areas of GhaNA: That is why the chiefs of Aburi insisted the Accra people have no right to object to the naming of Accra stadium Ohene Djan stadium. Ohene Djan was Guan and the Guan Aburis can prove they allotted the land to the Gas when they arrived from Ile Ife. Guans were always here and are the original landlords of the area called Ghana today. Nkonyas are the landlords who accepted strangers who now want to claim the land.

He wrote about Magistrate and High Court decisions but left out two very important Supreme Court decisions because, those ones favored the Alavanyo people. The essence of this piece is intended to brain wash the Ghanaian public with half-truths.

The fact is the germans for their evil quest for African resources did all they can to bring hatred and fight between communities who until then were friends.
All the two sides always believed the whites who were there who told them that the Afadzato mountains contains large deposit of minerals as such the struggle and conflict ensueing for the right of ownership for the land between the communities.

But they should not ambush any of our people or hide behind this media platforms to tarnish the image of the good people of Alavanyo for all we know the disputed land is in the hands of the government so we dont know why you keep rushing to kill our people or providing the media with force information....please know one thing you cant always be right and if all this you said is true then why is the government not taken any steps to help...your foolishness and lies will make the wise in the world to understand why you are so thirsty of land..1840 i wonder how many of the people of Nkonya that still live till now from that year..u feed ur generation anger and hatred that is what brings all this conflict...we will always stand by peace but remember justice before peace..so anyone you kill will be retaliated since you never seem to know which of your inhabitants attack us whenever we report to you about any killing

One thing people have just decided to forget is about the fact that ,he who God has blessed is blessed forever. Why do I say this? God blessed Israelite with vast land and any nation that tries to stand against this is severely punished by God himself by delivering those enemies of progress into the hands of the Israelite. The people of Alavanyo, I think are being greedy and not appreciating what the Nkonya people did for them even when others refused to accommodate them.If they have forgotten, let me remind them that the people of Nkonya are the Voltarian Israelite. Secondly, I also think the leadership or governments haven't done enough to call a "spade a spade". It's important we stop politicizing very sensitive issues and put things right.
