You are one of the few foolish northerners who have sold their conscience to the NPP party just for your stomach. What is wrong with the Giuenea Fowl project and the money involved in it so far? Have you invested in a project of that magnitude before? I believe you haven't that is why you are showing that profound hollow understanding of the figures involved and the whole project as a whole. Go do a research and have a better understanding of how business works before you get busy in any business discussions. You want to help pull northerners down on their progress? You lie bad, whether you and your NPP guys like it or not this project will go on and put you in shame. Your PULL HIM DOWN NORTHERN SYNDROME will not work this time.

My first advise to you is please watch your back very well because this dubious deal is from the top of Mahama's Administration.
You have thrown the challenge to all Northerners to hit the road with facts not hearsay about this SADA Project which is about to fail and few individuals enriching themselves to the detriment of the poor which the project is envisage to help. I have the conviction that the concerned stars among our Northern brothers will stand up and call a spade a spade as you have spearheaded. Enough of these nonsense corruptions should be stopped. Mr. Sayibu - Bravo. We are with you. E&OE.

Corruption galore is order of day. monies meant for the proper development of the poor people, is looted by the custodians in collaboration with old dwarfs and babies with sharp teeth. Monies syphoned abroad, they will school their kids abroad, buy homes abroad and bath in the affluence of waste , Then quickly re invent themselves as champions of the poor. New humanitarians using loose change of the same stolen money to mask their sins with the hypocritical open display of devotion to God whilst continuing the sin of draining her dignity and rendering her more trapped in poverty and this vicious cycle of the state of prostitution. Syphoning looted funds outside the country with no meaningful investment plough back to help creat jobs to support the economy .
This is beyond criminal. it is a sin. Today the drivers of our civility, (civil servants, doctors, teachers, etc..) Are on strike . Money meant for their purpose is siting in the private accounts of individuals in fine clothes portraying God image and reminding you of your shortfall to prayer . It's your money. Looted by these old dwarfs and babies with sharp teeth. After 50years of independence it is sad to note that our only development indicator is the measure of the number of westerners amongst us. WEEP NOT CHILD!!! The man JDM asked you guys to vote for him because his is your brother and one of YOU. He then asked you to reject Akuffo Addo (kambonga), the NPP, FREE SHS, and a well thought out Plan for the North and you did. He gave your chiefs 4x4 cross country vehicles and your girls free cars and you were happy. When the NPP and other wise and sensible Ghanaians started to question the sources of such gargantuan flow of cash/sika/kudi/ligiri/shika/ ega/ashewa, hell broke loose. Now you know where all the money for pampers, khebab/suya/kyinkyinga, 4x4 vehicles, sewing machines, pieces of cloth, salt, GHC50 etc was coming from. As you eat your eggs, remember you are eating away your chicken so the saying goes in Akan. All the Guinea fowl and afforestation money went into stealing votes for the presidency and now there no Nkomf3ms/guinea fowls/zaabos to be read on free range in the "afforested" lands of the Great North what a shame and a pity. You see what your own OTANI brother and henchmen have done to you? And JJ Rawlings has not found it fit to comment about it? Ei!! his loud silence is strange paaa. Is this not confirming the allegation that he took some BROWN ENVELOPE from John Drosmani Mahama b4 the 2012 elections and fully endorsed him? Now the gap between the North and the South is going to be like Australia and America. People of the Western Region should wake up and protect their inheritance (OIL) b4 it is mortgaged to the rLG and the Mahama family. WE NO GO SIT DOWN MAKE THEM CHEAT US EVERYDAY WALAAAAAAAHI!!! Mr. Sayibu, only this morning I was contemplating writing an article on this SADA controversy, but after reading your article, I decided to hold on till I gathered the rest of the information I am looking for. Two of the titles I was thinking for the article are: “Blowing SADA to Smithereens,” and “Bashing SADA into Oblivion.” After weeks of reading articles (and hearing and watching news items on Radio and Television) on SADA, I have come to ask myself if the “attacks” on SADA is a genuine quest for accountability or a subtle attempt to destroy a possibly visionary project for some of the deprived areas of this beloved land.
Ghana is full of champions of accountability today, and these champions will jump on any news item that accuses government of anything, by assuming the accusation is true, and join the bandwagon by adding to the accusations without adding an iota of evidence.
Sadly, Mr. Sayibu, your article is no different from such people. Ghana’s media has become so full of superficial and loud-mouthed champions of knowledge, integrity and accountability that wisdom, prudence, research and substantiated evidence, are no longer important in the art of information dissemination. The title of your article speaks tonnes for this assertion.
My contribution is NOT to defend whatever has taken place or is taking place with SADA or the guinea fowl project, so please do not misinterpret my intentions.
Take it or leave it, “150bn cedis worth of guinea fowls in a 320bn SADA forest” is a very irresponsible way of starting an article that is meant to contribute towards a discussion on the appropriate use of state funds for a laudable project. I accuse you of irresponsibility because as a matter of principle and fact, these are not the amounts allegedly spent. Yes, I live in Ghana and know that you are referring to the old cedis, but as an educated and apparently enlightened person with the ability and access to Parliament to witness a Parliamentary debate don’t you think it’s high time you updated your mental database and used the legal currency in course in this country since July 2007? Why keep your memory in pre-July 2007 and quote defunct currency figures to write an article? Why not quote the currency we were using in the pre-Independence days as well to give a better light to the colossal amount? Is it a ploy to blow the figures out of proportion, or, to confuse the reader into thinking of the extremely high amounts that have been dissipated? Note that by making this argument, I do not imply that some amounts misused in Ghana may be forgiven.
Your knowledge base for the SADA project seems limited. Most of the SADA projects are not restricted to the three northern regions alone, but also include the northern parts of the Volta and the Brong Ahafo regions
I do not know if you, and many others, appreciate what it takes to get a project going. Executing a project does not only imply the final structure that is seen at one of the sites of the projects, but includes a lot of time and resources spent in the planning, feasibility, implementation, etc., stages. This reminds me of a Daily Guide report that talked of 600 Guinea fowls with 20 eggs in a 300ft x 200 ft walled farm for the Asongtaba Guinea Fowl project. As a child I reared Guinea Fowls and know how good they are at laying eggs. It is therefore an insult on the intelligence of the reader for a writer to say that he toured the project site, made a head count of 600 birds and only 20 eggs; unless the writer wants to say that practically all the birds there are males or barren.
Mr. Sayibu, to give you an idea of how to end up costing a project, the 300 x 200 ft wall of the Asongtaba farm alone will require at least 700,000 cement blocks to be constructed to a height of 6 feet. Instead of your regular visits to Parliament and the temptation to jump to the floor, please take a visit to the office of an architect, and let him give you an estimate of the cost of constructing such a wall, and then add the costs of the farm’s buildings and infrastructure as well, then come back with another article to tell us how the money was misused. Please do not forget to factor in the cost of personnel, utilities and the other networks of the guinea fowl project.
Finally, we have to learn to do the same operation for the “forestation” projects that is supposed to be spread over the five regions. Yesterday the accusation was that the cost of a single planted tree was 6.60 Ghana cedis. This, according to the writer was impossible. Your article is also of the same view, for which reason I will be grateful if you will visit a horticultural shop to tell readers what it costs to purchase a seedling of the planted trees. I cannot tell you because the articles and news items that have come to denounce corruption have not enlightened the public on the type of trees that were planted. However, I suppose it includes mangoes, and shea nut. When you find the unit price, take time to add the cost of logistics to the destination for planting, the labour and maintenance costs after the trees are planted and tell us what the possible cost could be.
Sure, we need to be accountable in whatever we do in the name of mother Ghana. So we should be given the facts of the situation. But in seeking answers to questions we should be circumspect, responsible and avoid the alarmist and holier-than-thou attitudes we take today. We must endeavour to offer objective analysis of the situation, as far as we can, and provide data for readers to enable them make their own judgments, devoid of tribalism and politicking.
Thank you.

Nana yaw how come you are defending such expensive guinea fowl project ? There is no justification for any well meaning Ghanaian irrespective of tribe or political affiliation to try defend such a wasteful project .
What am suspecting is that, the project was initiated in haste and not well thought through.
Supposing the government decided to extend the project to all the ten regions with same amount of money only to get similar results. How expensive this will be to the economy of Ghana . More over Ghana would be a laughing stalk in the world. Reasons being that we are stupid.
Nana, for your information a cousin of mine spent GhC15000 to put up a structure which houses over 3000 chicken(broiler, layers) and produces nearly 2000 eggs a day.
If with this minimal investment he is doing that well, then well meaning Ghanaians must come to conclusion that the Ghc1500000 guinea fowl project is a farce designed to ripoff the people of the north in particular and Ghanaians as a whole.
Can you tell me the number of people that have gain employment as a result of this particular project ? Is'nt it the sole aim of this project? Is'nt the stated aim of this project to lift as many people as possible from abject poverty ? The question you must ask yourself first, even before you put down your head to write to criticise people who are demanding answers is"is the way forward".
To me, I believe money will be well spent if peasant guinea fowl farmer with track record are organised into co-operatives with proper supervision and modern scientific method of poultry farming overseen by SADA will yield better results and money well spent.
Let us criticise and be criticised at in good faith whiles we learn from our mistakes. If we shy from taking on the government because we sympathise with it then we are our own enemies.

How am I to help SADA when I do not stay in their regions of operations? I'm asking Akilu to write informed articles and not bring in a one-sided view of a situation. We live in a country when too many people delight in accusing and criticizing everything without getting to know the facts of the issues at hand.
To tell the truth, I don't need to be paid any money. I am not as corrupt as the likes of you who will only receive money before talking.
To start the cost analysis, multiply 300 x 200 x 6 feet and divide this by the size of a 5 inch cement block (16" x 8") and you will get the total number of blocks used for the wall alone. With the total number of blocks thus obtained, multiply the result by the cost per unit of block and add the labour cost to it. This is just the beginning of your cost analysis of the project site. The land cost some money. There are buildings there. There are staff. There are equipment. And the project is not supposed to be located in only one area.
Think of that and tell me how much such a project in not less than 3 different regions of the country, can cost.

I do not know what you mean by me defending the project. If you read and understood my post, I'm sure you would have found that I did not defend the project per se, but rather asked that a careful understanding of the totality of the project ought to be considered before jumping into conclusion that 15 million cedis have been spent of 600 guinea fowls and 20 eggs.
Why do you suspect that the project was initiated in haste? By confessing that suspicion are you not conceding that the amount might be justified in a way?
Your cousin's project was an intensive and local project, restricted to only one town/village. The Asongtaba project, from what I have read so far, is a semi-intensive one supposed to be spread over at leat three different regions. Why not make a little investigation to find out what the project encompases before assuming that it was just that walled building? Today, neither you nor I have the information, but I can assure you that the construction of only the perimeter wall around the site visited by daily guide alone could cost not less than 300,000 cedis. We are talking about a 300 x 200 feet perimeter wall with a minimum height of 6 feet. Then add the cost of infrastructure there and that of other equipment and human resources to man the farm over a period of one year. This will give you an idea of the localized cost, before spreading to the cost of the catchment area.
You seem not to understand that some facilities are also supposed to be put in place to provide services to the out-grower farmers. These are the people that will benefit from the project, and not necessarily those directly employed. I can therefore not tell you how many people have been employed by the project. I'm not privy to the company's information, but understanding what it takes to undertake a project of that nature, I can tell you that if it's a genuine project, the 15 million may not be an excessive sum - considering the fact that the catchment area of the project spreads over three regions or more.
You are wrong in thinking I'm criticizing people who demanding answers. My write up was to point to the fact that there was the need for people to be circumspect and responsible in writing, and not write half-cooked and lopsided articles to denounce a situation.
