A very pragmatic article which should not be left on the shelve or disappear into a 'black hole'.
It's about time we and the government 'walk the talk'.
A very well done Laala.

My fear is that POLITICS will blind their tenacity to (even) start this Vision; and the Nation will continue to wallow in this energy crisis for many years to come.

Kofi you are spot on. However, the key area of need is the substitution of kerosene to solar at off-grid locations. The damage that kerosene is causing to our people cannot be over emphasised. Government has FIT to entice IPP to go into RE. I believe that for the on-grid consumers Govt should make it mandatory for wall and outside lights to run on solar. This way, we will save KWh from the silly crude fired thermal plants in Takoradi. I believe that the resistance in investing in RE such as solar is that fact that the big men make money from the continuous purchase of crude oil. Solar energy business is about 260 billion USD, yet Africa where the sun blasts at full volume has only 6b USD out of this why?
A highly informative article, well done Kofi.
