Ghanaians want results, not mere rhetoric, empty promises, propaganda and sloganeering. Time to act is now.

Wow, cousin,
You went to town on this one and spared no one.
Is there any redeeming value left in our nation?
Cousin, you wrongly diagnose the problem as incompetent set of personnel. If that is the case, then what were the results when various perceived competent people were at the helm, such as your paragon of quality and calibre, Spio Garbrah?
Cousin, methinks we have a structural problem and the vehicle is broken beyond repairs. Having different drivers at the wheel every four years with mechanics and aplanke from a certain tribe won't help the situation.
What is the situation in Zambia, which is now owned entirely by the Chinese? It's probably better, comparatively.
I was really disappointed by citing the electricity and water shortages in the capital. What about Winneba and beyond? Are they not also in the dark and performing surgery by candlelight?
You wait for the political hyenas to get hold of you for what you've written here. If you need help defending yourself, holler and I'll be there.
Do they have Council of State or its equivalent in Zambia? You bemoan the unnecessary drain on the treasury yet you're proposing new type of membership for the Council of State.
Now what's your beef about the Finance Minister Terpker not having an advanced Finance degree like you and therefore not fit for the position? If advanced degrees are the prerequisite for good management, then Ghana would've sent 10 Winneba astronauts to moon, years ago and you would've made two trips as a lunar module commander.
The problem is not personnel. You can put Team Alpha in and the results will be the same. You already know this so let's not pretend.
Give Mahama a break. He's no superman. Let's give him and his choice of Ministers and appointed cabinet a chance. After say two years we can have a good evaluation of their performance.
What you've written sounds like a manifesto to dessert Ghana and never look back. You know visiting Ghanaweb is almost like visiting Ghana in a glass cage and not smelling the gutters. Let's give the government a chance, it's too early to fire your displeasure at them.

True, another party apart from the dominant two would do Ghana very well. The hard fact is that, none of such a party is in the offing in the coming so many years. So we'll have make do with NPP and NDP. The only think we can hope for is a third party that gets enough seats (like 16 p3) to become formidable in parliament and bring the others to book.
The Finance Minister's qualification doesn't matter. It is not only Economics majors who can run the budget of a country. The Finance Ministry job is more of a budgetary job than that of a classical economist. An accounting degree can do well. But most importantly is the experience on the job in similar institutions. After all, the VC is an Economics major even though he couldn't get a PhD like his other mates who did it.
I don't think there's much Kofi Annan can do. He can't order government around. The man is contributing his small quota. I am not sure he will make a good president of Ghana, anyway. And the man is now 74 - not an ayong man anymore...
Nkrumah was unique. We can call for someone of his caliber. But we can only hope.

Despite everything and all apologies, these NDC set of people have no idea of governance and let alone vision to halt the reverse gear and let alone put a front gear. School paper, they don't have, personal achievement they don't have, experience they don't have. May be stealing they are experts. You see the world has become a global village and what happens elsewhere reflects on us. Putting anything at any position is a recipe for more disaster. If your ministers cannot understand basic developmental principles how do you expert them to associate with other countries; more so when they are only borrowing signing without understanding the underlying loopholes. You know understand why we paid almost 1 billion for judgment debts!. At least NPP is better than the NDC in Ghana's developmental history; if you can open your brains a little and let fresh air and understanding in. Since the (P)NDC came to power a quarter of century ago what can they pin point as a solid investment in Ghana's development? I don't see any though. Nkrumah we can talk; Acheampong we can talk; Kuffuor we can talk but for these group of NDC people nothing. They are all not good but I believe even in hell there may be some one who will be better than another. The earlier we speak the truth the better for all of us so that we don't make the mistake of bringing them back if ever they manage to complete the four years.
