interesting that thoaw who live in accra are complaining about a lack of constant running pipe borne water , electricity.majority of ghanaians have endured a lacK of these basic amenities for years with no protest marches , the "elite " or better still pampered elite are feeling just a wee bit of what is normal for most ghanaians and they are hollering.
The fight must be to ensure that these basic amenities become standard and common place for all ghanaians regardless of background, income , region or location.
When we refuse to fight for the weak amongst us ....

Paying bribes to people who are hired to serve the public down to Police officers in Uniform. (2) Constant shortages of water and electricity and finally , The filthiness -open gutters where one sees feces, dead animals-dogs etc,etc and yet, cooked food being sold near open sewage."Yes we are the First and the Best" All I say is Keep on dreaming

No need to 'occupy Accra' as it is already occupied. If you want results go in about 10 groups massing about 30,000 strong in each group and remove the huge generators from the homes of the politicians and government functionaries but first start with the homes of the VRA, ECG and GRIDCo officials.
If the president can't sack them for being inefficient, the people must deny them their perks which were put in place to give them a worry free life so they could concentrate on working hard for the people. If they are not capable of handling the workload, they must be relieved of their duties or denied the rewards promised them for success at their jobs.

In Ghana Accra, the capital of Ghana and Kumasi and their environs account for the majority of urban dwellers. These metropolitan areas are characterized as dark and filthy. They have high incidence of malaria, cholera, and other environmental related diseases. Piped water is unreliable, solid waste management is abysmal; homes are built without permits and in flood prone areas. Majority of homes in the suburbs have no roads water or sewerage connections. Accra, the capital city of Ghana, and Kumasi, the second largest city are no exception to deplorable condition of African urban settlements.

How many time have some of us been advocating for a revolution similar to that of the Tunisians? Right now, there is no need for any "military intervention" because they are all the same. If we occupy Accra ie, the ministries etc, it will be a wake up call for these thieves to "sit up" but can we embark on that journey? Tribalism will set in motion because it will Ashantis/Akan versus Ewes. Period.
I am saying this because of the party in power then the question that arises is, is the hardship affecting only Akans only? Ghana, with her current predicament, is reeling under no pressure because of our "tribal foolishness".
Ghana wasn't a paradise under Kufuor but the current situation, which is man made, was no where under the previous regime.
We are now under the auspices of "clueless bunch of fools" toying with us just to test our patience.
Why should such we go through such a terrible situation?

So long as the Ghanaian populace continue to dance to their(politicians) tunes, we will continue to wobble in perpetual suffering. The politicians pitch the citizenry against each other inciting tribal and ethnic differences. One person says tani or pepeni and the other person replies likewise kooko ase kuraseni or ayigbeni trokosi cat eater. And whilst we are busy tearing each other apart, they sneek behind our backs into their little bedroom called parliament house to enact laws to make their leaving conditions blossomly unprecedented and their paychecks graciously fat. My fellow citizens, we the people are always at the receiving end and until we come together eschewing our differences to sing the halleluya chorus in unison, to show these vampires and blood suckers that enough is enough, they will always saddle us and forever take us for a ride.

Well said Johnny. For a nation blessed with God's best it is unacceptable for this current state of affairs.
Poor leadership and governance over the last 40 years or so have led us to our current predicament. When others paln for the next 100 years we see everything through the NDC or NPP lenses and talk nonsense about assasination attempts and names of seat of government.
These lot, who Johnny describes as the political elite, have never had the electorate or plebs interest at heart and until we rise to let them know ENOUGH IS ENOUGH nothing will change. This is not NDC or NPP matter.
Ghanaians rise up and let them know you will not idly stand by and be taken for granted. Rant over!!!!!

Instead of using our social capital to hold the political elites responsible--we spent most of energies on chasing "ghost" tribal enemies.
The constant bickering between Ewes and Ashantis etc. The enemy of Ghana is not Ewes or Ashantis--but a few self-selected political elites who includes Ewes, Ashantis, Fantes, Dagombas, etc.
Lets focus on the real enemy of the people--the ruling vultures. Stop the madness of tribalism--and lest focus our energies and require accountability from the real enemies.
