The gap between 2000 and 2008 was wasted without a single improvement Ghana`s infrustructure, that was why we are suffering today. Assuming NDC were to abundon Bui dam project when they came to power, what would have been the state of Ghana?
However, when NPP came to power, they abundon all project that NDC started. Instead replace them with heavy corruption in the history of Africa not only Ghana. Beside, promoted hate, division, tribalism, injustice, you name it.

Is it someones job to plan the energy and water requirements of the state ? What are all our state resources being used for -- free cars and 4X4s, building a Taj Mahal for the President ? Giving money away to persons who don't have contracts with the government ? What do we expect -- for the power and water to flow by themselves ?

I will recommend the writer for a well written article. A very very important topic handled dispassionately without dabbling in politics. We should start investing in power generation today and not tomorrow. Good job.

"...ABUNDANT OF WATER THE FOOL IS TASTY" as the saying goes:we've got sun throughout the year from the north to the south, and to me this crisis can be solve once and for all if only the government can introduce a resonable price solar panel, and then come out with plans that all new houses including all government insttitutions should generate their own power by means of solar energy by replacing their roofings with solar panels, and gradualy would be extended to other old housing structures, and this can make us self reliance and can also reduce the over heavy load on the system...some in europe where sun shine is less are even installing and generating electricity by solar panel installed on their roofs, and how come Ghana/Africa should cry for hydro energy...

We should build solar farms and wind farms on our hills and in the sea.
We should also install biogas facilities in Accra and Kumasi to produce electricity from waste.
