Selfless citizens like Hamidu are very rare and they do not last to finish their job. During Achampong's time, this policeman, whose goes by the name "Aban" became a household name in the Accra metropolis. The only crime he committed was not accepting bribe and that led to his untimely death through poisoning.
Right now, all effort should be made to give the "lone crusader" a protection against the "dark forces" that will try to stop his mission.
There are some top government and party gurus hiding in the pocket of Woyome and for them to be exposed at the public ridicule, they will explore any way possible, to silence him Hamidu.

GO OUT THERE AND RECEIVE YOUR REWARD, ALL GHANAIANS. GO AND PAY THE PRICE FOR YOUR FOOLISHNESS. YOU DON'T GIVE A SECOND MANDATE TO AN INCOMPETENT AND CORRUPT GOVERNMENT, NO!! NOT AT ALL, THAT IS ABOMINATION IN DEMOCRACY, VERY SUICIDAL. HAD NDC MANAGED THE ECONOMY WELL, THESE ECONOMIC PROBLEMS WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THE SITUATION. NDC HAS PRESIDED OVER THE BIGGEST RESOURCES GHANA HAS EVER HAD. THEY HAVE ALSO CONTRACTED MORE LOANS THAN ANY OTHER GOVERNMENT IN OUR HISTORY, BUT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR THIS. GHANAIANS SHOULD HAVE ENJOYED SOME ECONOMIC PROGRESS AT THIS TIME IN OUR HISTORY. THE ECONOMY IS COLLAPSING BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT IS SO CORRUPT. TO RESCUE THE SITUATION, THE POOR IS NOW BEING FORCED TO PAY. THIS IS INJUSTICE. THIS IS NOT THE GHANA KUFFOUR HANDED OVER TO NDC, HE EVEN ADDED FRESH CRUDE OIL WELLS. NPP TRANFORMED GHANA TO A MIDDLE INCOME ECONOMY WITH LIMITED RESOURCES BUT GOOD POLICIES. NDC IS WOEFULLY REVERSING THESE NPP ACHIEVEMENTS. GHANA'S CURRENT SITUATION IS VERY DISTURBING. WHEN THE HISTORY IS TOLD, IT WILL BE SAID THAT GHANAIANS WERE OFFERED FREE SECONDARY EDUCATION, IMPROVED UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, SOCIAL HOUSING FOR THE POOR AND AN EGALITARIAN SOCIETY BUT 50% SAID NO THANK YOU. THEY PREFERRED ECONOMIC "WOYOMISATION" , PHANTOM DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, PHILANDERERS FOR LEADERS, MACHIAVELLIAN DISRESPECTFUL CORRUPT LOUTS AND A VISIONLESS EVIL GOVERNMENT. Dr. Charles Yves Wereko-Brobby
Dr. Charles Yves Wereko-Brobby
Maverick politician and the former Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby has called on President John Dramani Mahama to sack the newly-appointed Attorney-General (AG) and Minister of Justice, Marietta Brew Appiah-Opong.
Dr. Wereko-Brobby mounted this crusade apparently because of the recent revelation that prior to her appointment, Mrs. Appiah-Opong’s law firm LithurBrew & Co, where she was a senior partner, had made claims against the government of Ghana in favour of a foreign firm, Switzerland-based Austro Investment Management Limited (Autro Invest).
Apparently, when the embattled law firm was making the claims for Austro Invest, the company had no basis because it had already been declared bankrupt in Switzerland months earlier.
This was in 2011 during the infamous scandal involving the alleged fraudulent payment of GH¢51.2 million to businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome.
According to Dr. Wereko-Brobby, in a statement released on Thursday, the fact that Mrs. Appiah-Opong was directly involved in the legal tussle to claim GH¢51.2million from Ghana meant she was not fit to serve the public interest in the current legal tussle between the State and Mr. Woyome, in which the state is trying to retrieve the money.
“The President must ask the Attorney-General to resign her position now or sack her without any reservation,” Dr. Wereko-Brobby stated in his statement.
“It is also a major test of the President’s public commitment to get to the bottom of the Woyome matter, and indeed constitutes a BIG SLAP IN THE FACE of the work of the Sole Commissioner whose findings will ultimately be reviewed on the Government’s behalf by the Attorney-General,” he observed.
On Wednesday, February 20, 2013, the Supreme Court waded into the fraudulent Woyomegate judgment debt controversy and suggested to the Ghana Bar Association to sanction Tony Lithur of LithurBrew and Co who represented Austro Invest, “for leading a dead foreign company to make claims in a Ghanaian court.”
The Supreme Court made this recommendation due to the involvement of Tony Lithur in leading a nonexistent company in the claims made against Ghana.
“Whatever it is, the recommendation of the Supreme Court must be tantamount to an indictment of the appropriateness of the continuance in office of the current Attorney General.
“It is inconceivable that the current Attorney-General would not have been deeply involved in the said case in her former role as a senior partner in Mr. Lithur’s company.
It is equally sloppy that those who supposedly did the mandatory security check on the Attorney-General did not know, or more probably did not highlight her association with Mr. Lithur’s company,” stated Dr. Wereko-Brobby, a controversial politician and a leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The Spoiler
These damning dimensions to the GH¢51.2 million judgment debt scandal emerged on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, when former Attorney General Martin A.B.K Amidu dragged the Attorney General, Mr. Woyome, Austro Investment Ltd and Waterville Holding (BVI) Ltd to the Supreme Court in a bid to retrieve the GH¢51.2million that had been fraudulently paid to Mr. Woyome.
Mr Amidu, who tried to prosecute Mr. Woyome when he was the Attorney General in 2011 because he believed that his predecessor, Betty Mould-Iddrisu and some people within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government had connived with the businessman to fraudulently fleece the country of that money, was sacked by the then President John Evans Atta Mills.
Mr. Amidu’s dismissal was shrouded in secrecy, but it was believed that he was sacked because he was getting too close to exposing powerful people in the NDC involved in the scandalous judgment debt payout to Mr. Woyome.
Since his dismissal, the NDC government had made moves to retrieve the money, but Mr. Amidu and several other critics were convinced that the effort was half-hearted and that the NDC was truly not interested in retrieving the money from Mr. Woyome, a key bankroller of the NDC.
Martin Amidu, popularly called ‘Citizen Vigilante’, said he was dragging the parties to court to make real efforts at retrieving the controversial judgment debt from Mr. Woyome and his accomplices.
He said he was taking the legal action in the “supreme public interest”.

To start with, I say, congratulations to Hon. Martin Amidu. He is not only a dedicated Ghanaian fighting official corruption but also, a hero and an adorable citizen vigilante in the eyes of many Ghanaians. He shares the same intentions and objectives as in pursuance by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and Rockson Adofo, that fearless "No Nonsense" son of Kumawu/Asiampa in the Ashanti Region.
I have lately become infuriated at the deliberate dismal attitude by the State prosecutors intended to let Woyome off the hook. This is the reason for my recent copious writings to seeking help to tackle him. It is no wonder therefore that I am overjoyed to read and hear that Hon. Martin Amidu has given him a headlock in the Supreme Court. He cannot escape with the stolen money as I have been telling him all along. Now is the moment of reckoning. He has to give a fullest account of how he came to access that GHC51.2 million, who his accomplices were and how he disbursed the money among themselves.
He was recently bragging about the court vindicating him in the end. He asserted with certainty about him emerging victorious from the criminal suit as if he was legally entitled to the money he so fraudulent obtained from the State on pretence. As less intelligent as he is, and has always been, he could not see that his self-confessed claim of not having personally or otherwise signed a contract with the government was more than enough proof to find him guilty if and only if, the prosecutors would honestly prosecute him.
I am extremely happy that the conniving rogues selected to prosecute Woyome will soon bury their heads in their palms awash in shame. They thought all Ghanaians were as intellectually deficient as they are. They thought to be capable of fooling all Ghanaians by their unending flimsy excuses leading to the unnecessarily incessant adjournments of the case. By that methodical delay tactics, they had expected the presiding judge (Justice Ajet-Nassam) sitting on the case to eventually throw the case out for lack of evidence. This will have made Woyome win the case on technical grounds hence his recently found ego, raising his shoulders, sauntering around the streets and the corridors of power claiming he will soon be vindicated.
As I had said, only a private prosecution as now instituted by Hon. Martin Amidu can remove the smiles from the face of Woyome, the Ghanaian swindler of the century. He is now in hot waters, wallowing and paddling his legs like a mermaid in search of an escape route from imminent danger. I told you so, Alfred Agbesi Woyome.
More grease to the elbows of Rt. Hon. Martin Amidu. I hope we shall all rally financial, moral, and spiritual support for him to prevail over Woyome and his Ghanaian version of the "Arabian Ali Baba and his forty thieves". We shall soon see all those NDC bigwigs that were behind the fraudulent deal that earned them GHC51.2 million through the crook going by the name, Alfred Agbesi Woyome.

Could someone be trailed twice for a crime in Ghana? Can a case be resurrected in a court [be it a lower court or the Supreme Court] after the expiry of the period of appeal?
Are these questions not more relevant than whether Woyome is at fault? Are we saying that Woyome awarded himself that sum of money or a Judge ruled that he should be paid that sum of money for the loss he is supposed to have suffered after he has gone through the due process of a trial in Court?
By ordering Woyome to file a response to Amidu's claim does the Supreme Court endorse the rule that one can be tried twice, or many times, for the same crime? Is the Supreme Court going to hear the case all over again after the trial judge has concluded his/her trial and given his judgement? On what legal grounds is the Supreme Court hearing this Amidu suit? This issue about private suit does not wash, the case has been dealt with by a competent court and all the processes of the law has been exhausted, the right legal conclusion is for the Supreme Court to affirm this truism and throw the case out, but once it has ordered a response by the defendant it endorses trial on numerous occasions which is in complete contrast to the rule of justice.
Lets get real hear. The problem is not Woyome, and I am sure anyone who has gone through our judicial system, will agree that the PROBLEM IS ROTTEN INSTITUTIONS CALLED OUR COURTS. You have to experience it to understand the rot we have placed our faith in.
A judge ruled that Woyome should be paid that amount. Why is the questioned not being asked: What was the loss suffered by Woyome? Is the judge right to award such an amount considering what Woyome was supposed to have lost?
Why is Amidu assuming that the prosecution could have mounted a more vigorous defense? Is he presuming that any thing could have been done at the time to sway the decision of the judge? Is hindsight not a good thing?
What should concern us as citizens, if not blinded by partisan politics, is the state of our judiciary? Bending rules for political purposes only accentuates the decay. I pray that the Supreme Court will stick to the rules of accepted jurisprudence, that is, if it is capable of doing the right thing.

Sometimes, when I listen to comments, suggestions and pronouncements of some of us Ghanaians, I wonder whether we exercise the least bit of circumspection in our daily lives.
Come to think of it: A case is before a court of law of competent jurisdiction, why should we be judging ahead of the verdict of the court? Assuming Woyome is finally found guilty and the money retrieved, what quantum of that money will actually go into developmental projects? Is it now news to Ghanaians that our politicians are always manipulating the system in their own favour? Were we all not in this country when MPs were given GHC50,000 as rent allowance? What did you and I do?
Sometimes I'm bewildered at some of these dispesable vexations.
