Mr. Thompson: To many of us West Africans and our brothers in the Americas (USA, Brazil, Jamaica etc) slavery was nothing to be proud of. We did not conquer Osu castle. In fact, it used be the seat of government of our slave and colonial masters until Nkrumah refused to use it after independence. It was illiterate Afrifa and his co-soldiers who returned the seat of government to the Osu Slave Castle after their coup d'etat. Because of the treason and atrocities that they committed, they thought returning to fortified ancient slave castle would protect them from any outside attack. Unfortunately, the castle failed to protect them and they all died miserably...both Kotoka and Afrifa were killed.

Mr. Thompson this gross paranoia on your part is far worse than the naivete of our leaders who agree to allow the Indians to build the New Flagstaff House as the seat of Government.
What information do you have to suggest that the building is a boon to Indian Intelligence agencies? If Indian of any nation that are bent on spy on our "Third World" infrastructure wishes to do that nothing can stop them.
And what makes you think that the Osu Castle is impregnable? Against Indian Warship, mercenary sortie, Somali-Alqaida sneak attack or a US drone attack?
The Christianborg Castle, Cape Castle Castle, Elmina Castle, and the forts that are all symbol of our past enslavemen are testament of subjugation. From Fort Apollonia at Beyin built by the British in 1756 to Fort Singelenburgh Keta built by the Dutch in 1743 our people suffered the inhumanity of slavery to be followed by Colonialism and Imperialism.
To me the Castles and the forts are history testament of man inhumanity to another man, and they deserve to be shown to the rest of the world, like how Dachau, Auschwitz, Treblinka, Buchenward, and other NAZI atrocities of the Holocaust are now shown to the whole world. Our Castles and forts are symbols of our holocaust. Therefore they are hollowed ground that All Black folks must honored and cherish.
Are you telling Ghanaian that they don't have the capability to debug any listening devices?
Why are we educating our citizens any way?

1. what proof can you provide that the Indians put listening devices into the palace?
2. Who says Nkrumah would have used Ghanaians only? How many Ghanaian architects were there during Nkrumah's time? Akosombo Dam, Job 600 and the other things built by Nkrumah were designed and built by Ghanaians only, eh?

Mr Thompson fals into that trap of quoting the "genius" of Nkrumah on a post that has nothing to do with him! That it never occurred to those who decided to build it and use it as a presidential palace, that the Indians they chose to build it, might install listening devices into the building, illustrates perfectly the naivety of most of the leaders who followed President Nkrumah - who would have used Ghanaians only, to design and build it from start to finish
This is all we are fed 24/7 Nkrumah, Nkrumah etc.
For your information Nkrumah lived in Flagstaff House just after General Alexander of the Ghana Armed Forces had returned to his native country! If there were any devices planted in Flagstaff House most probably that was the time as General Alexander was from the UK and tensions between us and them were brewing!
Haba!
Move on from Nkrumah - the guy died 40 years ago and look at the state of his party anyway!

What makes him think that Ghana Security is incapable of sweeping the Flagstaff House with the view of debugging any listening devices planted there, assuming the Indians would be so criminally inclined. Ghana and India has had cordial relations dating back many decades and I do not think they would risk jeopardising that relationship by doing something stupid as what the author is suggesting.
I also think he has a warped understanding of the working of President Nkrumah. Did he know that the personal secretary of President
Nkrumah was an English woman. Did he hear about the name Geoffrey Bing? Well,Geoffrey Bing was President Nkrumah's first Attorney-General if the author of the said article cares to know.
I have always maintained that those young contributors who put out articles of historical nature on this site must endeavor to research what they post. Do not put anything out there just because people are posting articles.
