People only care if a loved one is affected. Sometimes even then, because of stigmatisation, they will not do anything about it. If people truly cared, they would have spoken up a long time ago!

We need proper care for the most vulnerable in our society. We need to start this by educating the general public about mental health and so embark on a programme of action to shame the government into funding mental health services properly in Ghana.
We need proper funding of mental health services and to adequately reward mental health workers in order to stop trained psychiatric nurses and doctors from emigrating to Europe and other rich countries.
We need proper regulation of mental health services and a national minimum standard that is enforceable by law. This would stop the Prayer Camp pastors from their continued abuses of the mentally ill. This needs to stop NOW!! Good mental health is Good health.
Please count me in with those who wish to do their bit to change the terrible conditions that the mentally ill find themselves. Any act of neglect that devalues anyone, devalues me as a person because I am part of humanity. God Bless You.
