We all know what the NDC is capable of that. This macho and militia style of govenance should not intimidate Ghanians. Wayome is walking free and saying what he likes because he is an NDC man. They would not have gone to court if the same issues Akufo Addo is challenging today would have been the other way. They would have initiated a civil war in Ghana. The NDC do not think about Ghanaians but only themselves. If they can be giving out cars and laptops to thier ordinary followers what are they doing with the resouses at hand. The better Ghana agenda is not working. They do not want to think about free education for the Ghanaian child, but the president and a lot of ministers who happen to have come from the northen region benefited from such a schem. NDC did not come to change Ghana they only came to steal

Why are we so poor in appreciating language? I am surprised that Ghanaians should carry on this way. NDC carried out boycotts even when the supreme court ruled against them in 2005.
n the 2004 elections the NDC challenged the election results at the supreme court. Mills and Rawlings boycotted the inauguration of President Kufuor. Victor smith then announced they wouldn`t even watch it on TV.NDC even boycotted the state of the nation address by President Kufuor in 2007. Needless to mention the numerous times when they boycotted parliament as well.
Prior to the elections in 2008 Mills warned that the NDC would not entertain any attempt by the NPP to steal the verdict of the people again. He warned the nation to expect mayhem if the party suspects the results of the December polls were rigged in favour of the NPP. He threatened to turn Ghana into Kenya if elections were rigged in favour of the NPP.
I dont see, what is wrong with NPP following the legal means to address their grievances. I dont see, why NDC is talking nonesense like the NPP is disgracing the President. If they know they have legitimacy of the people, why should this process lead to a disgrace? It should rather enhance the image of President Mahama, when it comes out that he won on his own merit. Instead of talking substance to the issue, they are coming up with wild and baseless accusations. If its a disgrace to the President, then its an admission, that the integrity of our election is questionable and if anything should come out, that the Preisdent and EC stole the election, then it would be a disgrace to the President.
Which party is more violent than the PNDC/NDC party? Which party overthrew a constitutionally elected government? Which party caused innocent Ghanaians extra-judicially to be murdered and thousands of to be thrown into detention without charge or trial? At least 300,000 workers were retrenched in the days of the PNDC. This party systematically run down businesses to justify an unconstitutional coup d`etat. Cowardly as they are, they manipulated others to carry out the dirty work. Who promised the minor tribes, the paradise would be theirs, once they overcome the Asante supremacy? Where is your promised land? Who ordered the execution of Ignatius Acheampong,Yaw Boakye,Kotei, Joy Amedume, Roger Felli, and Utuka? Who seized property and businesses of Akans? Who shut down the Tomato factory at Pwalugu (1989) and the one further down at Wenchi, and also the Meat Processing Factory at Bolgatanga that same year? Golden Tulip Hotel was sold to a partnership between the Libyans and Rawlings' cronies as the Ghana-Libyan Arab Holding Co Ltd. for $3,578,125. GHACEM was sold to SCANCEM of Norway for $3 million. Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi, City Hotel in Kumasi, Ambassador Hotel, Accra and many more were systematically destroyed by (P)NDC, or sold to NDC operatives. What happened to the Black Star line?Private industries like Siaw’s Tata Brewery, Apenteng’s Panbros Salt, Appiah Minka’s Apino Soap Industries, Yaw Boakye’s Boakye Mattress, Addison’s West African Mills factory were all systematically destroyed by Rawlings and his cohorts. They destroyed Ghanaian Industries; destroyed our Transportation system, including the OSA, Ghana Railways, and Ghana Airways; they destroyed our academic institutions ; they destroyed the Ghanaian entrepreneurial spirit by actively working to collapse Ghanaian-owned businesses and finally they actively worked to literally destroy human lives by subjecting innocent citizen to torture, murder, and gross human rights abuses.
By the way, when did Akyem, Asante, Denkyira, Akwamu, Fante, Akuapem, Bono, Kwahu and many others become tribes? These are Akan states and not tribes. The tribe is called Akan.

CPPs are a bunch of hypocrites! It were people from within the party, who overthrew Nkrumah. When Nkrumah took all the key positions, leading members of the CPP got annoyed. Therefore they teamed up with some of the UP to overthrow Nkrumah. Actually, most of my family members were born or influenced into the CPP (at least the older generation), but when something is wrong, I will not say its right. Finally, the death of the imprisoned Nana Kwame Kyeretwie (Dr. J.B. Danquah) almost turned the whole country against Nkrumah.
During the colonial days, Krobo Edusei (a very influential member and interior minister during the CPP administration) rented a room at one of our family houses in Kumasi. He was able to influence most of our family members into the CPP.
My late father, a trained engineer and member of the Institute of Engineers and Technicians in London, became the first secretary of Krobo Edusei (Propaganda secretary), he personally campaigned for him in "Sekyere-East". Once, even the colonial police searched our house to arrest Krobo Edusei. During these days, Nkrumah and other founding members of the CPP almost met daily at our family house. So this place more or less became their headquarters.
Nkrumah and his people became millionaires over night. Krobo Edusei was a poor drug seller, before his party came to power. The CPP was not all that strong in the country as a whole. The government had little authority, in particular in Asante. Nkrumah was a coward, who always used others to achieve his goals as soon as they were of no more use, he turned against them.
By the end of the second World War, Ghana was more advanced economically and socially than most other African countries. By 1945 Ghana had the best road system, a railway and a deep water harbour and had one of the hightest per capita incomes of all the countries on the continent. Ghana then had a sizable educated elite and a rising middle class of teachers, contractors and private businessmen. By the end of 1964 Ghana was completely bankrupt. The national foreign debt grew from 64 million dollars in 1957 to 524 million in 1959 and to 770 million in 1964. Moreover, while Nkrumah urged the ordinary people to tighten their belts, he and his ministers led a life of luxury, rode in huge cars and erected buildings in the main towns from funds received from corrupt deals and bribes.By the time of the coup his wealth had increased to a total of £2,322,000, whereas his lawful earnings from 1951 to 1966 amounted to only £134,000.While he continued to place funds in foreign banks from 1962, he made the holding of foreign accounts abroad illegal. He vigorously opposed all the regional groupings, saying they would be "just another form of balkanisation".He constantly quarreled with other African heads of state, the vast majority of who opposed his dream of his "United states of Africa" and feared Nkrumahs desire to become president of Africa.
He introduced the Preventive Dentention Act, which enabled him to arrest any person without a trial (any person that was suspected of opposing his government). He turned the whole country into one concentration camp of fear, insecurity and uncertainty. He even dismissed the Chief justice and other judges, who did not rule in his favour. He turned Ghana into a one party state and made himself president for life. He seized and occupied all the key positions within his party, therefore his own people teamed up with some members of UP to overthrow him (not the NPP with cooperation of the CIA, as the propaganda of nowadays wants us to believe).
Nkruamhs megalmonia and power-drunkness were the main cause for his downfall. He showered upon himself ridiculous titles such as "Showboy", "His essianic Dedication", "Osagyefo","Fount of Honour", etc. His megalmonia made him see himself as the man destined by God to become the first president of a united Africa. It also drove him to excessive use of the Preventive Detention Act and the use of spies on his own people. When the railway workers went on strike in 1961, Nkrumah ordered strike leaders and opposition politicians arrested under the Trade Union Act of 1958.While Nkrumah had organized strikes just a few years before, he now opposed industrial democracy because it conflicted with rapid industrial development.
The death in the confined cell of the higly respected Dr. Danquah in February 1965 turned more Ghanaians against Nkrumah than any other single episode. All classes of Ghanas population turned against Nkrumah. It was J.B. Danquah, who actually gave Ghana its name, presumbly personal research had done into finding out about the link between ancient Ghana Kingdom and the Akan. Unfortunately he fell out with Nkrumah and ended up dying in prison. This man should be one of the great names mentioned among Africans. In my opionion, Danquah made a great attempt to enlighten his fellow Ghanaians. His book "the Akan doctrine of God" was the first book dealing with ancient Akan history. He also wrote some other books in the Akan language to help children and young adults identify with and learn to read their own language.
It also must be noted, that it were mainly wealthy families from Asante, who enabled Nkrumah to finance his nationwide boykotts.
If Nkrumah was still alive, he would behave like Gaddafi and their likes. In fact, Robert Mugabe (married to a Ghanaian) and many others were all trained by Nkrumah in Ghana. They received huge financial and even millitary support.
If people really believe Nkrumah was such a hero, then they should name the entire country after him. Why are you using the name "Ghana", a name that was based on the historical research of the late Dr. J.B. Danquah?
If Nkrumah was still alive, Ghanaians would be bitterly crying, as everyone did when he was at the peak of his power drunkness. Nkrumah was one of the worst dictators on the continent.

Some of our readers on this forum do not take the due dilligence to read articles posted on this forum but seem to stick their Ostrich heads in the sand and pretend that everybodfy's view is partisan ; the point Mr Adofo is making is a legitimate point; in that anybody who aspires to a coup de etat in Ghana today should be condemmed in no uncertain terms ;Please fellow Ghanaians coups have no place in Ghana today and even the Jon Mahama the President will attest to this ; because of the suffering that his own father and family encoutered after the Nkrumah coup by Gen Kotoka; Iam quite certain that this guy making comments about coups was a toddler and did not live through the times of the coups in Ghana from Gen Kotoka to JJ Rawlings ; what Adofo the writer is attempting to say is that people should be mindful of their desire of a coup de etat ; because a coup in Ghana would be hell for anybody and very messy ; the idea is to stick to our constitution and democracy ; I may only question Adofo's views about the interpretation of the words in the constitution ; lay people or arm Chair lawyers like Adofo may attempt to interpretate the constitution at its objective interpretation as written in the constitution or in the dictionary and not from a legal point of interpretation ;the interpretation of the constitution can be complex legal argument and even contitutional lawyers differ from time to time ; a recent case in point is the rejoinder case by the NDC to join the case against the President and the EC; the intrepretation of certain relevant words in the constitution by the judges made it clear that the NDC as a party had a right on grounds that the word interest was crucial and therefore allowed the NDC to join the case ; the same interpretation could be made on other cases in court with precedents ; but then merely quoting parts of the constitution to make a point will not stand up in the court of Law ; therefore Mr Adofo be careful when you start quoting the the CI's because their interpretation in a court of law may be quite different from what you think ;most CIs are best interpretated by precedents in law which Tastsu clearly used in his arguments in court ; but your point about the resolve of the NPP to pursue this matter of vote rigging in Ghana is quite legitimate and impressive ;we cannot allow such manipulation if proven in court to go unchallenged in Ghana because that would be the cause of an unjustifiable coup in Ghana ; if NDC does not pursue this who will ; this is simply for the future survival of Ghana's democracy.

Ghanaians should be thankful that Nana Addo and the NPP chose to settle dispute over the elections in the law courts rather than in street hand to hand combat and gunfire as it's the norm in most developing nations. The world has a greater respect for ghanaians because we've demonstrated a sense of maturity and belief in democracy and the rule of law and order.
Kakra Essamuah's comments are criminally negligent and malicious. He went overboard with his dangerous and subversive rhetoric. Is this what the so-called ghanaian illuminati can offer ghanaians who are hungry and thirsty for transformational leadership? I hope this dangerous rhetoric is only representative of the hatemongers and fringe elements of the ndc party and the party as a whole will not march into a herd to support the crazy talk. Sad to note that the ndc does not identify with problem solving ghanaians but readily identifies with the global industry of outrage and carnage. This is only helping corral the party into a new class of political waste and mediocrity.
The ndc hatemongers should bear in mind that there's no emergency room for an african nation called Ghana. Let's save it while we can through the upholding of the rule of law and order and democracy. We should not wait till it has become too late. Men like Kakra Essamuah are best forgotten and consigned to the dustbin of history.
