My vote will go to the candidate who has plans to open public libraries throughout the city.
Others will vote for the mayor who can rid the city of filth and stench.

I don't think the Accra Mayor is a dedicated native with a team of strategic thinkers. He is just an appointed figure head surrounded by the same old bureaucrats from every failed administration this country has ever had.

Indeed Accra needs an elected Mayor, and although all Ghanaian politicians are typical liars and incompetents, we just might eventually find the right person. I too want to be mayor of Accra, but not appointed, because I want to tell the people of my city precisely what I will do, before getting elected.
1. First and foremost I will seek authority to have the Accra Police Department under my jurisdiction, whereby I can appoint/fire the police chief of the Greater Accra Region.
2. I will limit the number of Taxis that can operate in the city of Accra to a bare minimum. All taxis shall be metered, and have fixed rates.
3. All tro-tros shall be abolished and only metro transport shall be operational in my city. All metro buses will operated on major streets and blocks, and not within residential communities. Ghanaians are too lazy and need to learn to walk to a bus stop and stick to the operating schedules with patience.
4. Absolutely no street vending/hawking
5. There shall be a licensed kiosk adequately positioned at street corners in highly populated intersections, selling only newspapers, snacks and small convenient articles. Strictly no cooking along any streets, except enclosed bars and restaurants.
5. The City shall employ a maintenance, cleaning and security crew. There shall be work for those who want to work.
6. No panhandling.
7. City will seek government assistance to commence underground sewage construction.
8. Will mandate a waste disposal method.
9. Will monitor the encroachment of vacant lots, by none tax paying guards, none service using land custodians, who degrade the property values in certain residential areas.
10. Zoning laws shall be the order of the day.
I will not compromise my principles - MOTO: Don't Vote For Me If You Don't Want A Better Accra/Ghana.

The mayor of Tema is a criminal. He digrced NDC and we lose all the 3 seats. We are happy the GS is saying no one will keep his post.
