A magician on a cruise liner had a parrot. Every night the parrot would watch as the magician made things appear and disappear.
One night in the middle of the magician’s performance, the ship hit an iceberg. Miraculously, everyone got into lifeboats and safely away from the sinking ship. The magician, fortunately, had been able to save his beloved parrot.
The stunned passengers and crew watched from the lifeboats as the ship slowly sank out of sight. There was complete silence.
After a long time, over the waves the parrot’s voice could be heard, “All right, I give up. What did you do with the ship?”

Jomo, you always fill me with fun reading your intelligent and satirical pieces. I'm really impressed with President John Mahama's bold appointments of new faces. Ghana needs patriotic people with competence, academic brilliance and strong principles. I hope President Mahama presses ahead and appoint competent and capable men and women from all political divide and regional backgrounds committed to the nation's development and progress. He should simply ignore the mutterings about his 'non-NDC' appointments. Ghana needs fresh thinking and news ways of getting things done.
Jomo, to see ex-President Kufour being besieged by some unhappy NPP supporters in an attempt to stop him giving recognition to President Mahama's swearing in ceremony was like watching the British sitcom, 'Only Fools And Horses'. Ex-President Kufour came across as 'Del Boy'. Ex-President Kufour handled his 'Catch-22' moment with dignity and political maturity! Jomo, sometimes party supporters should exercise a little bit of common sense.
